  1. And that's how I simultaneously find out that jeebsy replied to my tweet, and that my phone has somehow uninstalled twitter by its own volition.
  2. Okay I'll admit that the "easily the worst" part was hyperbole in the heat of the moment. But I've been a supporter since cowboy was in charge and I haven't been this frustrated with Dundee since Kernaghan was manager.
  3. Does a team actually need a manager per the rules of the game? Has any team ever just let the players decide among themselves what squad, formation, and tactics to use? Hypothetically, it would be interesting to see what would happen if the board gave Hartley a one week sabbatical and try to see if the players can organise themselves better than he can.
  4. Although I do on some level kinda like the idea of Duffy coming back, do you remember what happened last season when a shite team brought back an ex-player, now manager, club legend to try to save their season?
  5. This is easily the worst football I've seen Dundee play in my lifetime of supporting them. I'm starting to think that I've just been fooling myself into thinking we've a half decent bunch of players which have been ill-utilised. This now looks to be more of a serious problem than it appeared to be at first. Most of the players don't even look like they give a f**k.
  6. My Mums side of the family are Dundee supporters and my Dad's a United supporter, I was raised a Dee and My wee brother was raised as an Arab. However, my wee brother switched to supporting Dundee when he was about 12 or something. I think it was mainly because my dad didn't really go to many games at all, but I was going to Dundee games fairly often with family members and he switched after he started to come with us and got to watch football that wasn't on the telly.
  7. I honestly wish that I could see whatever you guys are seeing that's making you so calm. Everything I can see so far is pointing to a relegation battle.
  8. Not really. Their mess was caused by tactical ineptitude and very poor recruitment. Whereas ours is just a bit of tactical inflexibility (or naivety). We've actually recruited some good players but we don't seem to be playing them to their strengths or setting up right against some teams. If Hartley mixed up how we played occasionally and made it a little more difficult for opposing managers to predict how to play against us it'd go a long way to fixing what's wrong. but we play narrow all the time despite now having players who can play wide, there's too much emphasis on passing the ball around even if that means not actually moving forward with it so teams pretty much know they can wait till we lose posession then strike down the wing, we're using Loy or El Bak2E as lone strikers when it appears they'd be much more suited to having another forward up there with them, we're not pressing hard enough when we lose possession or playing with a high tempo even though we're told that the players train in an intensive manner. I'd like to think I'm being pretty realistic in my expectations. I'm not expecting us to be challenging for for the league title, and I fully get that we're just a mid table size club who cant just expect to win all of our matches, but I'd like to see these same problems we've been seeing for the last couple of years or so to actually be addressed quicker than they are.
  9. The only thing that's holding me off from being part of the "Hartley oot!" brigade is that I genuinely cant think of who we could replace him with. But something's got to give, and soon. It feels to me like we've actually regressed year on year since promotion. United being so shite, and us having Stewart and Hemmings carrying the team last year made things look a lot better than they actually were but unfortunately I think Hartley's gonna be found out this season. Looking at the games so far, relegation is not outwith the realms of possibility... Ideally we'd be able to get Tommy wright in, he's consistently proven at St Johnstone that he can get good results with a team that (IMO) man to man are not as good as the players we have at our disposal. But I just cant see them letting him go without a good amount of compensation, and I'm sure that if he were to leave perth he'd be going to a bigger team than us. It's a shite state of affairs.
  10. I would think it's more likely he's going home for a bit and will catch up with them during the international break.
  11. Well if I keep walking to games it adds about an hour onto mines, and if not the bus that goes there currently takes about an hour. Either way I'm fucked. haha
  12. Bigger capacities could mean ancilliary revenues from concerts, events etc. on top of match day parking, and then what ever other facilities could pay rent being built on a site of that size. IMO we should do anything within reason to maximise income and improve the product on the field. I'm sure I read (but cant remember where, sorry) that St Johnstone couldn't afford the playing budget they have if they were reliant on ticket sales alone. Which, to be fair, you lot do punch well above your weight considering the size of crowds you have.
  13. Assuming that the new stadium would be built on the piece of land people are sharing pictures of, off the top of my head, advantages for away fans could include: 1. Not needing to look at the dump across the road, (or the ramshackle POS that is the derry TBH) 2. Not needing to hunt around wee streets for parking (there's enough space for a stadium, a parking area, and a shopping centre there.) 3. KFC, McD's, and ashoka shak are 2 minutes away 4. The amenities on offer inside a new ground surely cant be any worse than what we've got currently
  14. In his defence, it's not that much lower on the scale than your crowdwanking. And it was speculative crowdwanking at that. Tit for tat IMO.
  15. He's handsome as f**k and has a magical left peg. Thank you.
  16. Thing is, what can we really dae to try and get the boo boys to stfu? (beyond cracking pusses and getting banned ourselves??) I moved fae the Derry to the Bobby Cox last season to get awa fae them, but it seems they're just everywhere in Dens. I actually dinnae go to that many matches now because the atmosphere (if there is any) is fucking toxic. We're turning into the new St Mirren.
  17. Agreed. Something not too dissimilar to the red firkin brewery 3rd kit would be perfect IMO.
  18. That they're mostly all decent teams, but there's only so much they can do when all their budgets combined are probably still less than that of Celtic.
  19. Also that lad Boyle. Looks like he could be a real danger on the wings, just what we're needing.
