  1. Had to look up what Deila said back in Decembaer “He’s very creative, like Kris Commons, Tom Rogic and Scott Allan,†he explained. “He’s the type that can beat people. He can play people through and is very good at scanning and looking forward. “He’s still physically not developed yet and if he can do that as well, he has the potential to have good legs as well.†You might be right, it looks like he's talking about conditioning and not just strength.
  2. Not surprising, he's still raw and likely to be inconsistent. Coaching staff at Celtic also felt that he had some physical development to do.
  3. Nesbitt is experiencing life at the other end of the Premiership table on loan at Partick Thistle. He might not be starting every game for Alan Archibald’s side but he’s convinced that his spell at the Jags will stand him in good stead for the future. He said: “It’s been a good experience for me, better than the Development League with Celtic. “The physicality of the Premiership is the biggest difference. “I played against St Johnstone and the first 15 minutes was a bit of a shock. My mate Darnell Fisher tried to give me a wee nudge but I just skipped right by him. “I settled down after that. “We’ve had a tough spell of games but we could still get into the top six. Even when I’m not starting – I really feel part of it at Partick. “Even when I’m sitting on the bench, I feel I need to be ready. “The manager at Celtic just told me to go there and work hard, play games and show confidence. “I’ve got a new deal at Celtic so when I go back next season or the one after, it’ll be about trying to get into the team.†Sounds like he's open to staying at Thistle for one more year. Would probably be good for him if he gets game time.
  4. I think Killie will stay up actually btw. Hamilton and United to go down.
  5. He is, I think it depends on whether he can stay fit. He's been injury-prone the last few years. Simunovic looks a player, Boyata has something about, but a bit inconsistent. Mulgrew has been solid lately and Sviatchencko looks class. He is. I think it will depend on whether he can stay fit or not. Our squad is too big, but that's mostly because of too many attacking midfielders.
  6. He'd probably benefit from playing for another club for another year or two tbh.. Hard to break through at Celtic now. I think the problems we've had defensively this season has had more to do with a lack of consistency and forced rotation than player quality. Sviatchenko especially looks like the real deal, Boyata, Simunovic and Mulgrew would all be ahead of him as well.
  7. What do you make of Findlay? I think his contract runs out this summer - do you think he looks good enough that we'd want to renew? Would you want him to stay?
  8. Tbf that hasn't been much of a requirement for us lately. Cheers for the responses, there may be nothing to it, but : http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35829173
  9. We're being linked with Paul McGinn now. Not convinced there's anything to it, but is he any good?
  10. https://twitter.com/scotzine/status/686239205916282880 Should be in the let's laugh at Sevco thread
  11. Just got bored with the penalty chat tbh... You must be glad you stuck with Archibald, some Celtic fans could learn from that. We haven't been amazing under Ronny so far this season, but he showed in the 2nd half of last season what he could do, we've had to rebuild our defence this season, we're top of the league, still in the running for the treble and plenty of people still want him out. Crazy.
  12. Match thread is full of pish, but I thought you were impressive today. Granted, we're not on the best run of form, but I really think that's the best Thistle team I've seen, you gave us about as much trouble as Hearts did. To be honest, I think we were expecting an easy victory based on the last few matches between us and when that didn't happen people moan at Ronny, but I think everybody just underestimated you. Archibald also got the tactics spot-on, putting our CB's under pressure. You should be able to challenge for top 6 if you keep it up, you look better than Dundee and ICT this year for instance.
  13. Interview with Findlay, sounds like he's enjoying his stay with Killie: http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/celtic/14177408.Celtic_loanee_Findlay__Kilmarnock_s_been_an_enjoyable_learning_curve/
  14. A bit unfair from Dundee to make us go all the way over there just to please your global fanbase
  15. I was talking about people who are interested in discussing youth development, not fans of other clubs that spend their times on p&b obsessing about Celtic
  16. Ronny Deila's press conference from yesterday. Well worth watching if you're interested in youth development, even for non-Celtic fans. Talks at length about how to improve things in Scotland in general and obviously Celtic in particular.
  17. I dont think our development squad would win it tbh. But point taken
  18. In Norway the B teams are not in the cup at all, which i think is fair. I suppose maybe they could be in the Petrofac cup in Scotland. In Norway clubs can also move players between the A and B side, but I dont know if there are any restrictions on that
  19. Ah, I genuinely didnt know this. Well, let's say the top six clubs could do this. Expand the lower leagues by 2 teams each and you've accommodated them. I see the problem, but I think it's worth at least studying it seriously
  20. The problem I see is that most countries that do these have a pyramid structure with several regional leagues. That means that the B sides get dispersed in different leagues. In Scotland you could easily have half the teams being B sides. I still think it should be studied.
  21. This would replace the development league we have now so AFAIK all Premiership and most Championship sides could do it
  22. The way this works in Norway for instance is that clubs can field a B team two divisions below wherever the A team is. So in Scottland Aberdeen, Celtic etc could have B teams as high up as League one, Championship sides could have a team in league two. If you expand league one and two to 18-20 teams most premiership teams would be able to field two teams. Don't really see what the harm is in it. Teams would just play each other twice a year like they do in other countries
  23. Would be good for development of Scottish players. There's easily room in the lower leagues for both the current teams and the reserve teams of the bigger teams.
  24. Just saw this, appreciate the response. Tierney has been our shining light this year, it would be good if we could produce more of our talent again. In the past we've had a tendency to recruit the best talent and then not give them a chance. Hopefully things have changed now under Deila.
  25. So, err, looks like we could use new defenders I hear Findlay's doing well for you. Reckon he could do a job for us next year? Has to be better than Blackett at least?
