No it isn’t and it’s been notable in this thread how many folks are saying ‘just jettison the GRR bill’. Whether the Supreme Court nix it - and that’s not guaranteed - is somewhat moot, given the principle.
Regan and Forbes seemed to try and make an argument that this has happened because Scotland isn't independent - but on this issue theoretically it is (or at least should be). The UK government is infringing on the limited Scottish independence that already exists and strangely they don't have much of a problem with it.

I can only assume that Ash Regan doesn't class the Greens as pro-independence. She'd rather throw her lot in with the Alba losers for some reason.

Is it wrong of me to question how much Kate Forbes and Ash Regan support independence when Westminster is attempting to veto a vote from Holyrood using the limited independence it already has?

If Ash Regan wins (and she almost certainly won't) I can think of at least one MSP who'll resign from the party. Unless she'd be the Scottish Liz Truss and disposed of quickly, I can actually imagine a few more leaving and sitting as a pro-independence independent bloc.

Imagine as a fan trying to profit from your football club.
There was another chancer/groupie character some time back I heard that did volunteer IT help for the club and then tried to hit the club with a bill of thousands of pounds.
How did he get hold of it in the first place? I remember back when he was trying to flog it for a grand a while back someone asked him why wouldn't donate it to the club. He replied saying the club had already had enough of a donation from him.

Yeah but around 30% probably think it is an independent country.
There's no other country in the world quite like the UK, yes federal countries have big states but none have one constituent more than 6 times the size of the others combined.
It's a mental way to run a country tbh.
That's not *quite* true. Denmark has a population of about 6million, while both Greenland and the Faroe Islands are around the 60,000ish mark. Though granted Greenland and the Faroes are both essentially independent nor part of (largely) the same land mass. There'll be other major differences too I grant you.

I see a certain former(?) fan has reappeared trying to flog the cup final flag again. Obviously no takers from when he last try to sell it for a grand.

People who learn fictional languages like Klingon and the one from Lord of the Rings. How about we get a life eh?

Wonder if this'll be another opportunity to play "I had a great idea but we couldn't do it for reasons" bingo...

I see Fergus Ewing has endorsed Kate Forbes. He voted against the GRR and equal marriage.

The SNP can say bye bye to my vote regardless of which of these clowns is picked tbh.
I can't believe one of the more big hitters didn't step in when it was kicking off last week. The new leader hasn't even been voted for yet and yet the party is already damaged. Angus Robertson and John Swinney (for example) aren't exactly inspiring but they would be middle-of-the-road leaders who'd at least probably get until the next election without taking any more major damage.
Humza Yousaf might be able to do that if he can somehow reverse his current habit of everything he touches turning to garbage but Forbes is now damaged goods who has already put voters off.

Here is another exclusive for Shaun et al. McArthur's going to be offered a year's extension at Palace, which has not yet been announced. Initial discussions with various Scottish clubs, including us, about a management or senior coaching role have been cordially ended for now.
Should talks resume will Stefan Maierhofer be joining him as his first signing?

Being a 'Free Britney' protestor. Wouldn't you have been better off spending your protesting something actually worthwhile?

"He has links with the club"
Aye, he played for them twenty years ago and everyone he played with has since moved on.

Travelling around Oceania and Asia for example. Would be great to see some of the scenery from that area of the world instead of him flying in and out again. He would get more subscribers doing stuff like that.
A while back he went to some of the Stans and to Mongolia. Didn't see any of them - just flew in and flew out again. What a waste.

One thing I noticed about Noel Phillips is that he talks to the staff at the desks sometimes, not particularly rudely, but with a bit of a tone that suggests he thinks he’s much more important than he is. I’m sometimes half-expecting him to give it the “don’t you know who I am?” line.
As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I just don’t really understand what he gets from travelling. A lot of places he flies to seem really interesting yet he seems to just fly in and fly out again. I don’t get what’s interesting about that. It’s not like he’s doing big train journeys or something where you can look at scenery on the way. Same goes for airports; even if you think of fancier ones you’ve been to, they still aren’t *that* exciting.

Some people are impressed by business-speak. All he did was pat on himself on the back and make excuses.

Scot Gardiner will save us, his record does nothing but inspire confidence.
Maybe it’s time for him to appear on another podcast where he talks for hours while saying absolutely nothing.

I see the Record are running a story saying your future is in "significant doubt". Hyperbole or truth?
We were recommended last year to go into administration. Of course we're unlikely to hear anything from the club in regards to the current financial situation and the local press have apparently been told by Scot Gardiner that if there's any negative stories about the club's finances (including the administration recommendation from last year which the local press know about) then all contact to the club will be cut. This was hinted at on the Wyness Shuffle podcast a while back as well.

I wonder how likely it is that when she loses the leadership election, Ash Regan will resign from the party.
