Don't know if there are any Spartans fans on here, none posted in our other games against them this season. Was just sticking to our own board for this game but now you've started a thread.😂

Good to see stepping down a league has made a difference to Nottingham, was a worry him still being here after how bad we were in defence last season.

Green Lawal and Winter all getting a run out today, and looks like Lawal was again making a case to be starting in league games, been impressed with him every game i've seen him play. Winter has been a good impact sub in cup games, again would like to see him getting league games, even if it's sub appearances.

I wonder if Lawall's is maybe suspect positionally , especially in a defensive sense. In games like today where we're on top he looks fantastic but even today he looked lost when possession was turned over. Young enough to coach that out of him though

  2. Spartans keeper made some massive saves today. Prior really only had the 1 save to make near the end of the first half but it was very important with the scores still 0-0. Impressed with Nottingham who has made a strong claim to be one of our starting CBs with his performances of late. Brandon leading by example again. Comfortable enough win for us and would have been much more comfortable but for Meeks

It's a fairly objective observation that more folk than Martindale would agree with.

Think what a fluke result is. Its when the opposition have the better of the play and usually some near-miss chances. So for there to be a fluke result, the match must be low scoring. If its a 4-3 or a 3-2 then it can hardly have been a fluke as your team had enough of the play to score multiple goals.

Nearly all flukier results happen with a 0-0, 1-0, 1-1, maybe a 2-1 at most. Therefore you can't really get them without solid defending. On Saturday there, Vaughan's header hitting the bar not the net was the main fluke part. The solid defending part was mostly limiting Raith to set piece chances despite their attacking pressure on us for much of the second half.

Last season we'd have conceded at least twice rendering Brandon's late goal meaningless. No fortunate result.

We certainly picked up more of those "fluke" results with Gallagher, Halkett and Lithgow at the back

😂😂😂 So you're basis of Shinnie playing well is off some random app?

Stephen Kelly used to get 10/10 every week on that thing coz of The Rangers fans voting for him because he was ex The Rangers.

He was playing so well that he got hooked after 57 mins?

His rating is probably only that high because he had a shot which was saved by the keeper. Which was set up because of an excellent run and pass by Stevie May, but that great vision only warranted a 6 flat? Come on.....

Yeah, if there's anyone making stuff up, it's whoever gets to input those scores on your crappy wee app.

It's not voted for...the ratings are created via the stats the players deliver.

    f**king hell :D :D :D

I get it's not perfect but shite players won't get good ratings even on an app like that. I don't understand the hate Shinnie gets. He was far from our worst player last season and is arguably one of our most influential players so far this season.

Shinnie brought his usual F game today after a semi decent performance last week, but trying to do flicks and back heels under pressure? He's supposed to be our "veteran" but he's terrible most of the time.

The same Shinnie who was one of our highest rated players yesterday? Much higher than Stevie May. You clearly don't like Shinnie and that's fine but don't make nonsense up

A lot of hard work but little end product. Vaughan unlucky but everything else straight at their keeper. Murray the latest to discover he's made from chocolate and going off injured under no pressure.

Given the number of injuries in the squad, today felt like it was a free hit looking at the lineup. Jamieson and Smith worked hard, Easton got on the ball and we got Stevenson into space out wide. Hanlon was outstanding throughout the game, clear man of the match.  Can't tell if Kev saw the shot late, or if he had been impacted by the previous incident when he was flattened, or if he just didn't manage to save what was fairly routine to him but it wasn't great.

Yengi for Livi looked dangerous, mostly with his flapping arms and the number 26, Montano? that came on is quite possibly the worst footballer i've ever seen. Has he ever touched a ball before with his feet? Has a long throw, but that was it.

Odd to hear that about Montano...one of our better players last season. Unfortunately he's made of glass so never gets a long run in the team. He's actually coming back from another injury at the moment which might explain his less than stellar performance

If we are able to pay off the outstanding money we owed to Colchester, it's not a disaster.

Will need to see how good Prior is but I'm convinced we must have had one of the worst goals to shots conceded record in the country over the last 2 seasons. Shamal did not save us anywhere near as much as I thought he might when he signed.

Shamal George saved 63% of shots faced last season. 62% the season before which is very similar to Liam Kelly and Zach Hemming of Motherwell and St Mirren respectively over the previous 2 seasons. I really don't understand all the hate for Shamal...nobody was good last season, yet he was on par with other keepers who finished much higher than us

Interested to see what Prior can do, you’d have thought he might have been signed with Shamal leaving in mind.

I believe that was the intention. The club were exploring the possibility of Shamal leaving last season to allow him to be closer to his family with his mum being ill. Shows the mark of the lad that he's stayed to honour his contract and has improved this season. His performances last season won't have been helped by his personal circumstances or the constantly changing (and constantly shite) backline we had. I'd be disappointed to see him go but keen to see what Prior can do.

Still surprised that Last Action Hero got such a Jack Slatering when it first came out, and even today. It basically gave the action genre the Scream treatment long before that came out, and was a lot of fun. Plus, if you're a metal fan, it exclusively featured one of Megadeth's best songs, and an Anthrax tune that was possibly better than anything on the (very good) album that they had out at the time (yes, I bought the soundtrack), not to mention a bunch of other eclectic quality stuff from some big names.

Critics were absolutely gleeful that this was The End Of Schwarzenegger at the time. Bunch of weirdos.

Edit: also, Ian McKellen as a very fair-minded Death from The Seventh Seal. Some film.

Aye Last Action Hero is a proper 90s movie...mental, makes little sense at times but overall really enjoyable to watch time and time again

Has he made a genuinely good film since True Lies

I did enjoy the 6th day and End of Days. Maggie was a different kind of role for him but was a very good film that went under the radar. It's not a film but FUBAR was absolutely top notch, very much in the same vein as True Lies

As for my favourite....it's tough to narrow it down, I'm a big Arnie fan. Even earlier efforts like Raw Deal, Red Heat are high on my list but True Lies might just take it....with T2 and Predator close behind

Yeah similar playing styles, good mobility and pressures defenders, don't think we've been as guilty as playing the long high ball this season though. We do really need a goal scoring striker still, Yengi wont score much more than 4 or 5 goals. He's more suited to setting them up for someone else.

Muirhead and Yengi either side of May could be wonderous
