    Looking forward to this.

If we continue to play as well as we have been so far, I think this will be a close game. Dykes being back for us is a massive boost as well. The only other unenforced change will be Sarkic in for Stewart.

It's been 14 years since we reached the semis but I am hopeful we can end that run here. 1-1 and through on penalties.

Play like we did in the second half last game then there's no reason we can't scrape through here. Dykes being back is HUGE for us plus there's talk that Pittman might be fit for this one too. Guys like Lawson, Sibbald and Stobbs all getting back to fitness is great news too. Just need Lithgow and Miller to come back and our "injury crisis" will be over before it's caused us too much of an issue

The best I've seen us play in attack was when we had the midfield three of Lawless, Pittman and Souda in behind Dykes, but Holt has a bee in his bonnet about Souda's defending and just wont play him.

I've got to agree with Holt though. Erskine and Lawless do a fair bit of tracking back. However, in todays game, Aberdeen weren't causing us a lot of problems down the wings so I'd have had Souda on.

Paul Craig gets a finish over a proper diddy there.

Never looked in doubt. Actually thought the referee could have stopped it earlier when Craig was pounding him on the deck before the choke

All McMillan did all afternoon was pick the ball up, turn around and pass it backwards. What happened to the LB that was good on the ball and actually had pace? Keaghan misplaced so so many passes it was unforgivable. Devlin genuinely looked like the only leader on the park, only one actually committed to it. Stobbs was shite, if this is him up to speed I'd rather we went with Souda, another Egli Kaja?

McMillan isn't a natural left back so lacks the ability to get down the line and whip a cross in...he showed his ability a few times when he got forward but kept having to cut back onto his favoured right foot. Savane was sitting in the stands today again...not sure what's going on with him. Stobbs came on and within minutes was bombing down the wing putting dangerous balls into the box...then, as I said, Devlin stopped him getting in behind and demanding he came short for the ball which meant he had to receive the pass, turn, beat (at least) one man then put a cross in....rather than timing a run and receiving a ball down the line...that effectively nullified him. Devlin may have been committed as you said but that didn't stop him being poorer than usual. Thought Souda would have came on too TBH. Aberdeen weren't giving us the same problems down the wings so he'd have been less likely to have to track back. He'd have been my choice to replace Robbo because, as much as Tiffoney's pace gave Aberdeen a bit of a problem, Souda has that little bit of quality.

Keaghan and McMillan should hang their heads in shame tonight. Worst performance I've seen from both of them. Guthrie had his best game in a Livi shirt though and Devlin really showed his worth yet again but how we haven't won that I'll never know.

    Sign a fucking striker ffs

Shows how differently people can see a game. While Keaghan's set piece delivery wasn't great I thought he had a good game, breaking up the play and winning headers against guys much taller than him. McMillan too was decent in that nothing really got past him and he got forward fairly well. He lacks the natural left foot though which kills him for putting crosses in....Devlin however, had his worst game for us IMO. He couldn't find a man with a pass and kept shouting at Stobbs to come short for the ball rather than trying to go in behind them where we were having some success. Plus for all his pace and running ability he barely used it today, rather stopping and playing a loose pass. Lamie drove forward more often than he did. He was decent defensively but pretty poor going forward for his standards. Agreed on Guthrie though, I thought he was out best player by a mile today and looks a great piece of business.

  6. Serious question
If all the fans of clubs with artificial pitches (I'm talking Accies/Livi/Killie) were to be approached by a mysterious benefactor offering to install a state of the art grass pitch for nothing, would you take up the offer or stick with what you've got and I mean purely because you prefer watching your team playing on it and not income generation etc
I do enjoy the fist shaking seethe it generates from away supporters but seriously....its given us a whole season without a postponement due to weather, it's better than our previous tattie field and it's a great community tool and I get to play on it weekly. Plus, if there's a chance we have the slightest advantage playing on it then it's a positive, as much as any other home team has advantages in their own stadium. So...no. Id rather see the money invested elsewhere...like bringing back the youth set up.

Rampage Jackson has just stormed the cage trying to scrap Bader ffs.

Turned it off after the decision and missed this...was looking forward to that fight too

Looking at the replays, I'm honestly not sure anymore if it went in his eye or not, it's really difficult to tell.

I was watching it with no audio and when the ref stopped it I had no idea what it was for....there's one angle that shows his hand over Kongo's eye and looks like a finger goes into it. No reason for Kongo to fake an eye poke though

Griffiths should have been selected imo.  Mistake!

I'm not sure Steve Clarke had the option. I get the feeling Griffiths told him he wasn't ready yet. The guy is not long back from a long layoff with mental health problems, perhaps this international break is a bit soon for him.

I coined the phrase " Twenty's Plenty"  last season

I'm sure that was a scheme in the EPL a few years back. If I remember right it was backed by Virgin and away fans paid no more than £20. As has been said thought, the useless slabs at the SFA aren't selling our game to sponsors well enough for us to be able to put something like that in place. With the current money in the Scottish game (or lack of) most clubs can't afford to drop the gate prices.

    Robertson has been atrocious

    Final ball has been appalling.

Does Robertson flatter to deceive? He looks great at Liverpool but is it because he happens to suit his manager's system and has good players around him to cover up for his defensive frailties? Too much pressure on him to carry the team? He just isn't playing consistently as well for Scotland as he does his club.

This!! He's never struck me as a captain and I can't say I remember him being outstanding for Scotland. His passing was dire and he was just as out of position at times as SOD. He seems to get a pass because he's a champions league winner and plays for Liverpool but truth is he hasn't been good enough in a Scotland shirt recently. He's not the only one though.

Marshall and Fraser get pass marks. Everyone else, get it together. Expect much more from Andy Robertson, not gonna lie. O'Donnell and Cooper were particularly pish. If we play like that we're gonna get pumped mercilessly by Belgium. Losing 2-1 there flatters us. Get yer tactics sorted Clarke, bloody hell.

Fraser wasn't great tonight either. He gave away the ball (granted a shite pass from Robertson put him under pressure) for the winner and didn't track back. I'm usually of the opinion that Marshall is past it and is too slow to get across his goal, however he made some absolutely outstanding saves tonight and was comfortably our best player. Teams like Northern Ireland, Wales etc have a settled defensive unit for the most part and that's something we need to be doing. Use the remaining games and any friendlies between now and the nations cup playoffs to identify a settled defence and blood them. Guys like McKenna, Souttar, Halkett and Bates should be getting used to playing together at this level. We seem so intent on clinging onto ageing players who have never been THAT great for us like Mulgrew, Marshall, Brown, Phillips when we should be bringing the next generation through. England have a great blueprint for their international set up. The under 19s, under 21s and first team all play the same system and guys like Rashford, Hudson-Odoi, Sancho, Foden are coming through the ranks together. We stick with the same guys who have failed in every campaign then wonder why there's nobody to replace them when they sack it. We can blame tactics and individual performances for tonight's result which is warranted. We might pick up a few good results  down the line and it'll seem like everything's on the up but until the entire set up is overhauled we'll never make any great impact at international level.

Osman Kakay has just signed for Partick Thistle. I see he was at Livy for a while.  How did he do with you?

Had to stretch the old grey matter to recall him but if I remember right (and it's a big if) he was decent, if unremarkable, going forward and not so good defensively. He may have improved in the last few years though. Seem to remember him being quite quick too

  12. Aymen Souda.

At first I was quite excited to see how he progressed as the season went on and got to see just how good he would be for us, he's got great skill on the ball and causes defences a lot of problems, good at taking corners too. However there has been a development the last few games which raises the question, does he fit in with how we play?

There is obv a concern about him with Holt & Martindale dropping him as an unused sub for a couple of games, and he only got a start against St Mirren because Robbo was injured. Defensively he is posted missing, which lets in opposition attacks down our flank, Mullin had the same problem, but excelled at County being played as a winger, Lawless was a bit better playing that role but it restricted him in attack, and he's looking far better for us this season playing more in an attacking role, but still has to do defensive duties when called upon.

It's a real shame because he's an exciting player in attack, but it isn't looking like he is going to be good enough defensively to fit in with how we want him to play.

In the grand scheme of things he's still new to the team and the league. I'm sure Holt and Martindale have identified his weakness in defending and are working on it. We are never going to be signing complete players with our budget so we will need to make concessions and address their weaknesses. Craig Halkett and Scott Pittman weren't the same players when they first joined us and look at where the club has got them. Also with Souda, he looks better at tackling than Menga ever did but maybe lacks the positional sense which can be addressed over time

  13. Unless it's a ludicrous offer for the club, I can't see Pittman leaving for anyone in this league. He's not quite of the calibre to start at any of the traditional Big 4 + Aberdeen, and I can't see his own personal situation changing too dramatically whereby he'd move to a Dundee or a Dunfermline who could maybe  offer more money, for example. The mooted interest from MLS is a bit of a non-starter, IMO.
I make it 26 if we're assuming Menga is indeed off to Angola. As far as I can tell, Pittman, Jacobs, Lamie, Robinson, Odoffin and Miller are all injured (I'm assuming McMillan will join this list after today). Only players who I'm unsure of are Sibbald and Lawson - assuming there is more than meets the eye with this pair as they're too good to leave out of a match day squad, surely?!
Could definitely do with another striker in as I'm not sure Tiffoney is the correct profile of player to replace someone like Dykes, and it looks like Miller and Robinson won't be available for selection for a whole season.
Menga played for the Angolan team today so I'd assume it's all done and dusted.

  14. Pretty sure it was McLaughlin that lost lithgow at the corner.

Ball didn’t fall for us at all today if a it had we would have walked away with the 3 points pretty much dominated the full 2nd half but for a few breaks up the park by Livy.

Was pathetic by their assistant/manager to even try his best to waste time as well but you wouldn’t expect anything else from a convicted criminal
