  1. Although Ross County are in 10th , 1 point ahead of Killie and 3 points ahead of Accies, this match on Wednesday really is a must win IMO.  I just can't County winning their last fixture, away to Motherwell.

Win this game and County are safe from the automatic relegation spot leaving Accies & Killie to battle it out on the final day.  The play-off spot against Dundee/Raith could be anyone's tbh.

On Petrie's Montrose, they were one of the best drilled teams I've ever watched, very reminiscent of Steve Clarke's Killie. They might miss out on promotion again, but I've got a feeling Petrie will be a Premiership manager at some point in the next few years if he decides to give it a go full-time.

This is maybe for another thread but I said it at the time Ross County were in the market for a new manager after Kettlewell, former player Petrie should be given top consideration, along with his former County back team, Iain Campbell & Tony Bullock.  Instead we ended up with John yogi Hughes ffs! Thankfully, we only gave JH a contract to the end of this season so we will hopefully empty him and go back to Stewart Petrie in the summer.

I think Ross Stewart's first start for Sunderland today.  Seems to have impressed the locals....

I just heard the Sky presenter stating it was his first goal in 10 matches.  It kind of puts a different slant on it when, like you say it is his first start.

Ross is a good footballer, Like so many tall strikers they're too easily labeled as just a big lad up front but his hold up play is probably where he needs to develop most.  He's far more impressive running with the ball at his feet, like his goal yesterday.  I'll be interested to see just how far he can grow and what he could become as there's certainly plenty of potential there Sunderland looks like it could have been a very good choice of club to go to from County.

White took his goal well, but otherwise was expertly marked by McCarthy. There were at least a handful of dangerous crosses where White was up against McCarthy at the far post but couldn't out-muscle his marker.

Mckay was County's best player by a mile. Constantly peeling away into the channels, dragging the St Mirren centre-backs into areas they'd rather not defend. He hasn't showed this kind of form since just before lockdown last March.

It's unfathomable that Mckay was taken off at 1-1 with Yogi trying to chase the win. Yogi brought on players better suited to counter-attack, squeezed them high up the pitch, lost control of midfield and got roasted on the break themselves.

Atrocious game management, not for the first time. I've lost all confidence in Yogi keeping County up.

This is how I've felt for a while. No doubting that County's problems run deeper than John Yogi Hughes but we're never going to adjust or sort these other issues with him at the helm. I honestly believe that the senior players/coaching staff could make a better go of it for these last couple of matches than continuing with JH.

Someone was asking about the triple/quadruple substitutions above. They happen almost every game because the initial team selection and tactics are usually that bad we need a total overhaul and chase the game. On Wednesday, we actually had probably our BEST 1st half performance under JH yet he still felt compelled to make a triple change. An absolute clown of a manager.

Lot of doom from Accies fans but they have a good chance of beating Ross County. And that might be all they need to scrape the playoffs.

This is it, all Accies need to do is win this one game against an absolutely horrendous manager and a gang of football imposters, at Ross County and your in the play offs.

It's far from over Hamilton fans.

The pressure will be on when Motherwell collapse against Accies again.

You just know that's what's going to happen.

Hopefully we're not too far behind (more than two goals) at ht.  We usually pick up in the second half of matches, usually because JH's original XI has been binned and we get more direct/desperate.

Only an hour and a half to go before this shitshow kicks off, I'll watch it in hope more than expectation obviously.

Just bought my girlfriend and I the 2021/22 Scotland Season Pass.

Went for the direct debit so seats are guaranteed indefinitely until I cancel.  Might not be quite the same this year, but thinking Scotland Rugby tickets are going to be really hard to get a hold of going forward (already have been past 2-3 years for the big games) given we are getting better and better.

    Can't wait.

Where did you get your seats?

It's a good day out, the wife and I have been going for the last 5 years or so but we've decided to NOT renew this year the three autumn games been back to back for three weekends straight out us off. We live in the Inverness and basically can't be arsed going to Edinburgh three weekends on the trot, plus it's only England and France at home next year, the Ireland and Wales games are so much better.

You guys feeling fairly downcast, then?

How do you rate your chances of survival? I know it's hard to be objective - I'm usually full of woe at this time of year so I know what it's like. From the outside, Accies look nailed on for 12th to me, but it's ridiculously tight. Three points across the bottom three with four games to play has to be the closest it's been for a very long time, surely.

Imo, if we survive it'll be as much through luck as any good management from JH. Again, imo, our squad is far better than what we've been getting out of them.

It's been well discussed by County fans on various threads in P&B, that players coming onto a bit of good form disappear from the starting line up without explanation. Oli Shaw was one of the form strikers in the division for a brief spell, he didn't lose form, Hughes just omitted him from the starting XI, he was fit enough for the bench every week though. The same goes for Hylton, just removed when looking good. Our central midfield is as soft as a wet fart, yet every week Ross Draper sits on the bench, I also believe he would protect our overworked central defenders if given a chance. There's more but I think that's enough to be going with for now.

We may just pick up enough points to stay above Killie and/or Accies but it'll be despite Hughes, not because of him.

    You want a bet .

Against my own team, not really.

But I do think it's likely that JH's team selection & first half tactics, will hamper any chance County have of gaining a positive result from this match. Second half we'll make 4 substitutions and play more direct. It's what we do almost every week, it's horrible to watch.
