The injured players are slowly but surely on way back to recovery 1 of whom will hopefully be back really soon. The other maybe 3-4 weeks away.

Disappointing result and performance last week and for sure the poorest since the start of the season. However these boys have done well and im confident of a reaction at the weekend. The improvement in the squad and play has been significant so the progression is still there albeit with a poor loss last weekend after the high of going through the Scottish the week before.

The bench is almost full now so we have good options and versatility within the playing side. A chance to go get 3 points saturday on a really good surface. Gretna have improved 100% since the start of the season so the game will be a real difficult one. Look forward to a good support and im confident the lads will give you all something to cheer come 5pm Saturday.

Big month is October so the more fans that can help us the better. No doubt the biggest game is Scottish against Kilwinning not from just getting through another round but financially its a biggy.

Hopefully see good crowds at Whitehill game + caley braves home games.

    Mon the Cowden

Regarding the big scottish cup game against Kilwinning keep an eye out on the junction bar supporters club facebook tomorrow regarding travel to game 👀

Raydale is a really shit ground, it was bad enough in the SFL 20 years ago but has declined with the covered terrace being taken away.

Carlisle is some place you’ll have a good time there.

I used to like going to the odd Carlisle United game a good old school ground that.

    Enjoy your weekend.

Yeah grounds not the best but it has a smashing social club outside it😂

  3. Butterworth was immense today ran both full backs riot, new lad took his goals well but that motm award had butterworths name on it surely, tough frustrating game to watch as we controlled the ball but struggled when it came to that last pass. Job done thought thats the main thing hoping for a nice away day next round

  4. Evening fellow lowland leaguers, hope everyone enjoys their visit to Newburgh on Saturday, my partners dad is the chairman so this is just a message to say good luck. Ground is basic but a nice set up 2 enclosure stands, match day program is good a lot of time and effort goes in to it one of the better ones at that level. Bottles and cans of alcohol are sold in the ground before kick off £2.50 can’t complain too much. Can get windy and cold as right by the water also. I’ll be taking the game in, wee scouting mission before we meet🤣

The score is a bit worrying.

If mcnab, butterworth, hepburn, doc, josh jack, gregor jordan, walker and dougie all started then yes I would agree, but we field a weak side with jack duncan and jack tait starting centre half. Nothing to worry about😂😂

  6. Had a nice conversation with Si ferry and Mick kennedy before they left last night. They were full of praise after watching cowdenbeath said boys were looking very good. Didn’t get a reply thought after asking if he was worried for playing us in a couple of weeks😂

  7. A man of kevin smith’s experience should be better that than tonight, he’s really let the rest of the lads down who worked tirelessly. Hats off to the lads done the fans proud. On to Saturday now

  8. Effort was unbelievable tonight from everyone, mcnab absolute bossed the midfield, euans work rate was class he’ll be tired tonight, heppy few great saves bit slow for the pen but made up for it. Less said about the lads penalties sure you’ll find a few balls in the caravan park🤣

  9. Skelly bullied us for the 90mins he won every header and took every ball down. I’d like to see us bring in another left back or start mcdonald there one game as Tait got ran riot. Too many high balls to our smallest player in butterworth. Mcnab solid again and we have a real player in doc he can turn on the style.

I see we are getting the new away top tonight at 5pm.

Found the top on the catalogue, looks alright and I believe it will be another £50. Was hoping it would have been the black and white one that beith and newburgh had for their home kits last season. Will settle for black and yellow.

No cowden fan should ever want a black and white top😂

  11. Hope it doesn’t mean danny is on his way out but can understand if he’s been told he’ll be no.2 to hepburn. Lack of defenders is worrying for me, correct me if wrong but we have one left back and one right back?

Credit to the IHS keepers today, kept the score low, with the Swifts almost suckerpunching us twice during the last 10 minutes. Thought their number 7 was impressive as well.

There's a lot of good players in our squad and there will definitely be offers during the season for them!

Very impressed with our loan goalkeeper 10x better than Farrell. The trialist one not so much.

I'd prefer we don't sign that glass bottle hatchet Dougie Hill though.

The left back that replaced Tait was called Andy?

All in all, good runout and great to see a lot of Cowden fans in attendance, Bluebell needs to work on his penalties though! 🐄🤣

    Andy Rodden

  13. Really encouraging performance tonight. Night and day to playing them last year pre season. Work rate was amazing tonight high press and pressing in packs forced them back or into a mistake. Never going to be easy when east fife make 5/6 subs at half time fresh fast players that can’t keep themselves onside🤣 on to the next one

Nice, will be worth the visit next weekend!

Swifts seem to be a youthful squad and have had a few Kinross lads play for them over the years!

Our former loanee Robbie Deas older brother plays for them at CB, Calum Deas!

    Did Osbourne play today?

Newburgh will need to be ticked off some point this season!

Yeah Osbourne played last 20mins centre half, dealt with all long balls. I go newburgh every free week we have as my brother in law plays for them. Again a nice basic set up cheap hospitality aswell. The place itself has little to offer and ground is right next to water so gives arbroath vibes when it’s windy🤣

I missed that one from the half way line?? I should have waited for the half time whistle before popping to CP!!🤣 Wondered why the Haws change keepers for the 2nd half!

It is a cracker of a ground, apart from drainage the only other negative is the potential to get poleaxed by the barriers like the Gala boy did in the 2nd half.. definitely a deliberate shove!

Jay certainly didn't have much to do!

I'm hoping to add the swifts ground next week if I don't go to work!

I opted for swifts vs newburgh today, a cracking set up they have once through the gates. Nice little ticket office with merchandise for sale then up a-bit a nice food hut very cheap also. Swifts a tall physical side. Had a squad of 20 bodies so they kept the starting 11 fresh at all times with it being rolling subs. 5-0 victory for them but majority goals were gifts from newburgh.
