I was actually a bit disappointed I didn't get some pelters when I made my first post in this thread.

I suppose that's down to the fact I've been signed up to this forum for about 10 years so know what to expect. I suppose it's all down to the individual. I personally rip the pish out of myself if I'm discussing it with friends, but on the other hand understand that for others it can make things worse.

This thread seems solid though. I hadn't posted on here in years and one of my first posts back was in this thread. A load of new names and old ones I had forgotten were wishing me well, so that was nice. Just don't be afraid to come in here because you'll never go unnoticed.

I've noticed over the last few years almost tick like symtoms which seem to be constant and make me not want to leave the house, then all of a sudden I realise I haven't had any for a while. I do feel that's more of an anxiety thing though.

Anyway, I'm still shite. Spending almost every day with my son though which is amazing and me and the ex are getting on very well. Nae pumping though, which isn't so grand.

I've been off Facebook for over a year now and it's a godsend. My account is still active because I don't want to lose the pictures. That's the only reason I still have it. I have also changed number a few times which means people I have no intention of seeing have no real way to pester me, and a couple of my trusted friends are doing a smashing job of keeping them at bay.

I can't remember if I posted it or not but a couple of months ago I was 5 minutes from going to a train station and flinging myself in front of an expess. I still wish I went through with it but on the other hand I'm glad I didn't put some poor b*****d driver through the grief.

I also appear to be much closer to getting my own place again and freeing myself from the burden that is me living with my maw. It might sound insensitive considering what Capy is going through but I can't wait to get out of the same house as her. Unfortunately I'm nowhere near ready to get back to work as I still take panic attacks when faced with the concept of seeing more than a couple of people at the same time and not having complete control of the situation.

I'll get there though. Not working is utterly soul destroying and I have never been the type to sit around on my arse.

Anyway i'll let you know if I'm going to do myself in.

Sounds like you have great relationship with your son and some good mates looking out for you. Good luck with getting your own place, i spent a bit of time staying with my dad and whist we get on fine enough, I was glad when i moved into our own place.

I know how demoralising it is to be out of work. I was unemployed for 9 months and it nearly did me in. Have you thought about maybe doing some home study? Could fill your time and give you a bit of confidence for when you feel well enough to get out a bit more?

  2. I read this thread and thought it was great that p&b posters were sharing experiences and giving each other a bit of support.

I have Parkinson's and started a thread to see if anyone else on here suffers from it. Hoping to chat to others about the symptoms and how it affects going to the football.

Turns out Parkinson's is funny and I had to delete the thread after only half an hour due to all the jokes being posted on it.

It's the first time I have been mocked about my condition and I am pretty upset about it to be honest.

Depression often accompanies PD and I was treated for it prior to diagnosis. I am not sure now if my reaction to being taken the piss of is due to the onset of a new episode or just that I am not as thick skinned as I thought.

That is the fun part of mental illness though. You never know if it's the condition, the meds or just a touch of the blues.

At least the lads got a bit of a chuckle though.

Are Adidas ogs not just the same shoe but different colours and a name? I like then but they are shite for comfort and quality.

Naw, different cuts, different leatherwork. The comfort depends on the style, its frustrating as f**k because different styles size differently. Some narrow, some wider.

I'm an 8/9 mate, I'll keep a look out for the Malmö and rogue as well. Greeting a pair of bermudas and Amsterdam on Friday, the boys for Paris starcows that I like the look of.

    Quality shoes. Particularly like Bermudas.

You b*****d how much did they set you back.

It turns out there's a boy that stays just down the road from me that has a quality collection. I've known him for years, although only to say hello to in passing, and had no idea that he was a collector. Anyway I got speaking to him a few days ago and he's agreed to sell me a few pairs so it's happy days. He's actually on the hunt for a pair of '08 or '12 Stockholms.

I would expect a lot of Old School HIbs boys to have some awesome collections. I got the Stockholms BNIBWT, but I buy second hand Shoes. its a really good way to pick up OG trotters. Forrest hlls and Argie Trimm Trabs were the last ones I got off a geezer on the interweb.

  6. went along to the game this afternoon.
    team plahed a 4-4-2
    Rogers
    Harrington Arnason McKenna Harvie
    Wright Ross Tansey Storey
    Rooney Maynard
no subs until the last ten mins or so
Rogers - ok but a bit shaky when your used to seeing Lewis be so commanding
Harrington - looks a handy player. Wouldn't bother with signing any first team cover for Logan
Arnason - Didn't do anything wrong but I'm not as convinced as I was before that he'll start on Thursday. Will be a good calming influence on the defence before too long though.
McKenna - Lots of brute force which we are not very used to seeing from our defenders
Harvie - looks good and it would be nice to see him get a run before too long
Wright - looking good today too. will be involved a lot more this season
Ross - didn't do much but centre mid not his best position
Tansey - fine range of passing he is going to be a really good asset
Storey - terrible in the first half despite his goal but was ok second half.
Rooney - quiet game and I think Stockley will get the nod on Thursday after watching that today
Maynard - was desperate to score but wasnt to be

    Thanks for sharing. COYR.

in other news, pedro is apparently still after Mclean (and walker).

I hope we tell them to f**k off. If we don't, because of release clauses or whatever, I hope Kenny tells them to f**k off.

    Tapping b*****ds.

Mclean would be a big loss to the Dons. Surely he's been offered a new contract. If he won't extend, i fear he could be off in this window

I hate the **** as much as anyone but I really struggle to get worked up about stripping the titles.

They weren't anything to do with us in the first place, it's not like we were the team that was challenging them. If they lost the titles, all it means is Celtic won a hell of a lot more titles.

Secondly, they've got their comeuppance. Their team got fucked over and they've won f**k all in 5 years. They're run by Cowboys, managed by a goon and their players are shitebags. If I'm honest, I've had my laughs from their punishment.

Thirdly, and this is possibly the most important point, you can't change the past. Football in my eyes is about moments. Anticipation, dread, joy, sadness, the fuckin bounce after a last minute raker at Tannadice. Stripping the titles doesn't change the fact that the **** skelped us hunners of times. It doesn't change that fact that the fans, the players, the team experienced those moments.

Ideally, I'd strip the titles yes, because they cheated. But the effort that would be required to make any tangible change, and the fight against the **** and the governing bodies, is too much compared to the amount I actually care about it. Expend our energy on fixing problems going forward IMO. Life's too short to worry about the past.

This is very similar to my view. We have to learn from the past though. Whilst Milne is probably right to back off from the title stripping, a vigilant eye needs kept on Rangers to make sure they are not allowed to repeat the boom and burst spending policy that was so destructive.

I sometimes get the impression  an element of the Aberdeen support that hate the old firm more than they love the Dons.

There is no doubt this is the case. However, these folks also tend to be the Hard Core Top Reds that only show up for big games and when they do, moan and berate the team if they are not winning 5 nil.
