  1. I too saw that. Hopefully his attitude and endeavour have improved since his very short spell with us.
  2. He can be pretty decent at times (or certainly was for us a couple of seasons ago) then other times he hides. Typical winger I suppose. I’d reckon he’d still have enough in his locker to be a decent acquisition at that level.
  3. This must be a wind up. Not very much effort in this one. How would you suggest fans ‘do something about it’ in relation to spending and success at their clubs? I’ll be interested to hear this one.
  4. Just goes to prove you can’t buy class. Graham’s conduct after leaving us and in that interview has been exemplary, something that absolutely cannot be said of Aitken.
  5. Rest assured there’d be someone or some people who’d be annoyed by it.
  6. Unfortunately I don’t think he would go if someone came in for him in January, I’m sure he would be. That said, I reckon the same could be said of the bast majority of part-time players if a better offer came in at any given point.
  7. I wouldn’t presume that Stranraer, Montrose and East Fife are minted in comparison, however, I’d wager that they all may have at least a smidgin of investment from their owners/benefactors etc which we don’t. They may also not still be on a ‘come down’ from significantly dwindling gates over the last two years, and resulting in a reduced playing budget. They may also have a core season-ticket base which they can rely on, whereas we can’t, given the massive reduction in sales over the last two years as well.
  8. I appreciate that we have lost a staggering number of goals so far (only two league games though, the Betfred is little more than glorified friendlies now since the amending of the format but anyway) and yes the squad does look well short of quality. It may or may not lead us to one of the worst seasons in our history, it’s far too early to predict that as far as I’m concerned. And let me say just now, I’m far from a Duffy fan. His transfers so far have been woeful, his tactics questionable, and as you’ve shown, results speak for themselves. I’m in no way advocating that he’s done a good job or is the right man for the job, I’m merely saying that to expect/believe it’s a realistic possibility to punt a manager after two games when we have NO MONEY is just what I’ve said, frankly ludicrous. Absolutely not. As I’ve said above, I’m far from a Duffy fan and I believe several managers could have done a better job in squad assembly and player retention than Duffy, but for folk to want him to be pushed is one thing, and they’re entitled to that opinion. But for anyone to remotely expect it to happen or happen imminently is entirely another. We’ve played 180 minutes of league football and while I understand the frustrations of others, heck, I’m frustrated too, the ‘let’s bag him’ this early, and particularly given our financial plight is equally frustrating.
  9. As ghastly a result as yesterday was and as low a plight we find ourselves in on the pitch, I think the people calling for Duffy’s head need to face facts and be realistic. Firstly we’re two games into the league season and have played the top two sides. Secondly, and far more importantly, WE HAVE NO MONEY. How would we pay Duffy off? How would we revamp the squad? It’s just not possible so folks wanting or expecting wholesale changes at this stage is frankly ludicrous.
  10. I hope you’re not at the wind-up but I fear you may be.
  11. We could also do with going along with the latter part of your second paragraph.
  12. As ridiculously early as it is, the lack of creativity we’ve shown in pre-season, it’s tough to see us scoring one let alone four, sadly.
  13. It’s pretty much a certainty that they’ll be paying more than us, and as far I know, both the clubs you mentioned have outside investment to help with that.
  14. No idea if he is any good because he didn’t stick around long enough for us to see if he had any ability. As SE says, he ran back to Celtic after a small handful of very average performances. We really needed some grit, determination and commitment when he came in, unfortunately he looked to me as if he didn’t want to put in a shift and the phrase ‘heart of a mouse’ comes to mind. Good Luck with that one.
  15. Thanks from me and I’m sure others too for such a detailed report from meeting, very good of you to do that.
  16. I won’t be unfortunately but hopefully someone can summarise it’s content later on for those unable to attend.
  17. We don’t get consulted every year but have been on occasion before. It’s not so much a ‘consult us every year’ but putting the feelers out and getting a feeling for fan opinion wouldn’t hurt, particularly when an absolute minter of a strip is potentially in the offing. I should add, had this been the only issue, it’d never get column space, however it’s one of several o.g’s by the club recently where fans/communication is concerned.
