  1. It'll suck the life out of the players being played in a system that's uber-defensive. And also playing for a manager who doesn't seem to have a clue how to play to your strengths.
  2. What is really getting on my wick through all of this is my belief that our squad is actually more than half decent. And that a new manager worth his salt who's able to pitch a side who's organised, well-drilled, fit and knows what they're doing would be doing far, FAR better than Aitken is doing and has been doing for quite a while now.
  3. Even if he hadn't interviewed for other jobs. Other than financially, we owe him nothing. That's the way it goes in football. He's had success, he's now floundering and most if not all of the reasons why can be left at his door. Time to go and it needs to be done before our slide to League Two is a probability rather than a possibility and our club's reputation is damaged further.
  4. Obviously a forward-thinking board in that respect. And one that realises what's going on. In that sense, it's quite unfamiliar.
  5. Compare the obvious fight, desire and will to play for the manager within the Man Utd side to comeback from 0-2 after 70 minutes at home compared to the clear major issues within our dressing room where none of those qualities are anywhere near. Hmmm.
  6. What an absolute shambles. If a young loan player from the country's champions wants out after only 5 weeks doesn't signal that there's something rotten in there and something gone seriously wrong behind closed doors then I don't know what does. The players are making it clear how they feel. The fans have done so both on here and with their feet and their hard earned. It's now up to the board to do something. With every week we remain with the status quo, they become more and more culpable in all of this.
  7. He'd be a good signing if our manager knew how to play to our player's strengths. Knowing us we'll play him at centre-half and expect us to win all his aerial battles.
  8. That may very well be true, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be asking them.
  9. Like others Jim Duffy would be my choice too. He'd get the team working again and I think he'd get results, which is what we're in dire need of right now.
  10. That's a big no-no from me. We're not that desperate yet. Aye, I know. I don't disagree with what you're saying but surely the chance to 'sit down with aitken' and have such a discussion was last night? It's clearly not been done, and now we've backed him with another signing. It's clear where the board's head's are at and it's not a good place. Absolutely. In a heartbeat.
  11. I'm glad I'm not the only one who suspects some of our players may not be as injured as stated. If that's not a sign that they're not playing for the manager any more I don't know what it.
  12. That's too much like technology for an oldie like me, could you give us a flavour of what's going on? Tell me there's not folk still backing Aitken?!
  13. And it's a LOT of sorrow he have this evening...
  14. Uninspiring draw but a decent chance to progress.
  15. Someone in our topic in the seaside league forum has fully apprised us of his previous off-field misdemeanours... But aside from alleged violence, lacking compassion for those less fortunate than him and not being aware of standard tea-making rituals, he's ok? Would you expect him to do a job for us then? A dirty, goal-scoring midfielder sounds just the ticket to be honest and someone we've lacked in recent years.
  16. We've today signed Ryan Thomson, what kind fo player are we getting, Pars fans?
  17. Who is this Flanagan character? I like to think I'm fairly knowledgeable on Scottish football but I've not heard of him, is he really 'all that' to be turning down whatever Rovers have offered him? If true, sounds like they've dodged a bullet and avoided someone who thinks they're better than they are. On another note, I also think they're a player in Kevin Nisbet, but not sure exactly how. His best performance for us came in the first leg against Alloa (less said about the second leg the better) when he played as a sort of wide forward. Before that though he looked utterly toothless, a la Greg Morrison. I'd be surprised if there was anything in him signing for Raith tbh.
  18. [quote post="12211076" timestamp="1528971480" name="Yur maw punts cooncil" userid="72419"And Derek Lyle has been towing a caravan for 4 seasons. I might be proven wrong over the course of this season, but I reckon Lyle would be a very useful addition to any side in this division. He's been a thorn in our side certainly over recent seasons and even though he was only bit-part for Queens last season, I'd be very chuffed if he were to rock up (get it?) and sign with us. Still got a fair bit to offer at this level despite his advancing years imo.
  19. Yeah I'd be happy to sign him up, fitness dependant obviously. What was his injury? Frank McKeown is another I'd look at, decent enough defender, although I suspect most of our 'centre-half eggs' will be firmly in the Craig Barr basket at present.
  20. What's the story with Meggatt? I've always rated him and wouldn't mind us taking a punt on him now that we're in League One.[emoji22]
  21. I've posted in our new topic as well, but yeah, delighted Dowser has joined again. In before this topic reaches it's end and is consigned to the doldrums. It's been emotional. Throughout the span of this topic, it's been a really excellent and eventful time supporting the glorious Sons.
  22. I echo what The Moonster says. I wouldn't have been unhappy if he'd re-signed for us. He's a dependable, if unspectacular right-back.
