  1. If that is the case it’s either that he isn’t going to Scott Boyd with players, or alternatively the players he is going with are either not good enough or far out of our price range
  2. The one person who seems to be getting off far far too easy in all of this is the HOR. When he joined the club he should have had a list for every position of suitable targets, which does not appear to have been the case. The only player who from the obvious outset seems to be his signing is Eetu, who doesn’t appear to fit our scheme and way of playing (whether the scheme and way of playing is the right way is another matter) If you look at the guys that have been brought in as free agents - they have either been recommended by Gary Rowatt or one of our own players has done work to get them in - which then questions why weren’t players like this on our HOR’s radar? And why is he not bringing in players in positions we need? That is the main part of his job and so far he has failed at it.
  3. So say we go all out attack for it - and get beat 4/5-2 is that better than being beat 1-0 no, your still getting beat and even worse it’s harder to stop conceding then to nick goals
  4. We have had players who have came in after not playing for a while and changed our team (James dunne who barely played prior to signing is the one who comes to mind) Guys like booth, Craig, Bryson Liam Gordon etc guys that are willing to put the work in for little reward will eventually get the reward. Middleton won’t even put the work in for the reward.
  5. Callum may be negative but what is the best way to not lose games - not to concede - as soon as that happens then we begin to build again. Bear in mind we finished 5th scoring the least goals in the league one season (pretty sure we were bottom that season too)
  6. This may shock you but we were bottom in October… We have signed a midfielder who appears from the outset to be a very good signing. We have went through bad runs before - players like Liam Craig, Callum booth etc are the ones who drag you out of it - not players like Middleton and Crawford who will avoid the battle
  7. That I wouldn’t agree with - Today (1 point potentially 3) handball and penalty Hibs (twice) (1 & 3)- penalty at Easter road & a sending off which was no where close to a sending off at home That is just straight off the top of my head - 5 points sees us in 8th with 2 games in hand, 7 we would be 7th
  8. Genuinely think that we played well in the second half today. Positives - Defensively we looked very good - that back 3 is our best defensively and also allows Rooney the chance to get forward or drift Liam Craig and Bryson work well together especially second half where Liam was pressing the game and we actually were making them have to go long for a bit. Eetu - for the stick I gave him appears to be learning how to play as part of a team, he also had some leap on him Negatives Middleton & Crawford - neither are giving us enough with the ball to justify both playing. Middleton jogs along instead of pressing & never shows any sort of urgency. Crawford is far too light weight and is more of a luxury player than someone you can rely on. Lack of bodies getting forward - when we play with 1 up the way that Kane plays we need bodies to get up and support and we just don’t do it enough (hopefully butterfield gives us extra legs in the middle to help) Referees - that is now 8 points off the top of my head where refs have cost us - it appears they are doing what they can to hurt us - today a penalty not given and a handball not called (haven’t seen it yet cause of where I sit) Edit - have now seen the handball - ref couldn’t see it but surely the lino can see that!
  9. Possibly - however he did look like he had something about him when he came on
  10. Bear in mind, we are supposed to have a recruitment manager, however interesting to see that the new forward was Callum’s contacts and no praise given to him for it
  11. Thought that we defended really well today, outside of McPherson buying an obvious (but still well executed) bit of skill from Allen. As soon as Bryson went off it changed the game, not just because we went to 10 men but also bringing McPherson on, who seemed to just half run about in the middle never really getting close to anyone to do anything, get on the ball or really be a productive member of the team. Haven’t seen the sending off again but it looked soft, however the first booking was on porteous who jumped up rolled about then ran to the ref (who was rotten) to make sure he booked Bryson. Bright spots today outside of defending for Saints - new boy viv looks like he is the best of both worlds for what we need in a forward (if he can finish as well it would be a huge plus). Thought Crawford was good when he was on the ball, and thought MOH at least showed a bit of hunger and a willingness to close more. As for Eetu, he is not a lone forward, from today that is clear. His first instinct on everyone occasion is to turn even if there is 3 guys behind him. The couple of times he got to run he looked ok, however, also noticed when he lost the ball instead of pressing he looked for others to do it.
  12. This - plus the tackle on McCart which was late and reckless
  13. He didn’t and you’re correct it was an awful decision from a player who has struggled a lot but at least does certain things we need from him. ‘Going for it’ and being able to spot a simple pass or knowing when to move in to the right position are 2 different things - any player playing at ammy’s can go for it but being able to play at this level is a lot more than going for it…
  14. Ah supporting saints this week? Thought you’d have been happier at tannadice you tool
  15. He didn’t shoot - he ran the ball into a blind alley and lost it. Crawford was also stinking but at least did certain things he should have…
  16. 1 shot on target is your benchmark for a player? Not being able to link up play or do anything a forward playing as we need to does. The pass was a glaringly obvious one - even Nick Walsh who didn’t see anything today could see it. Any other player playing for us would have played that pass (including MOH who runs with the ball more than most)
  17. 1 turn is not technical ability - being able to spot an obvious pass isn’t either however not seeing the pass is a bigger red flag than anything else and also not knowing where the go is a huge huge red flag especially for a team like us
  18. Not desperate for him to fail but can tell that he’s not anywhere close to a standard that is required. Obvious time when Kane was over holding off someone in our left wing and instead of moving over (even towards the centre) he moves AWAY from the ball to the right wing leaving the centre totally free. When Kane was through instead of passing it he just wanted to run…
  19. Anybody but eetu next week - that is an imposter of a footballer. 0 positional sense 0 idea of how to play a game only wants to dribble
  20. Good to see the establishment club getting the honest mistakes in their favour when the game isn’t going their way. Not like the bigot brothers to get the decisions going their way. And as for the Finn what ever money they have spent on him should be charged to the failure of a head of recruitment as punishment for making him a saints player
  21. To be honest I’m not sure that anyone else up there would have changed it - our weak points were there and even without Main on you didn’t try exploit them
  22. I’d agree you dominated the midfield, however that was more due to poor play by weak points in our team (2 of the 3 at the back) meaning that our 2 wings backs were tight back letting you push on to us. Saying that I never felt like you would score there was no threat at all
  23. Whilst we were awful today - this may be the worst takeaway of today’s game. Whilst yeah it wasn’t great to watch the manager has done what was needed after the disaster of the Livi sh*t show which is get your defence solid and then build from there again - you can’t get beat if you don’t concede. Kane got the team up the park single handily multiple times - this is with the laziest player on the park beside him in the first half. Crawford was awful today - I really like him but today was not his day, everything he did went through wrong way (the conditions wouldn’t have helped him) The Eetu situation is strange however it may say more about the recruitment manager who has pushed to get him in and yet the manager doesn’t seem too keen on him
  24. And yet shagger and Goodson had to have the seasons of their life’s in games you were strolling…
  25. Barasic/tav/Josh Doig/ Izaguirre - grouped these all together as majorly overhyped as ok going forward but can’t/couldn’t defend Wanyama - looked good cause he was big and ran about wasn’t as amazing guy as everyone made him out to be Porteous/Mckenna - throwing yourself mindlessly in to tackles doesn’t make you a good defender John Souttar/Danny Wilson - being able to play 1 pass out of 20 does not make you a good player
