  1. Unless the press have been wrong (entirely possible) about voting intentions and the proposal is supported, there's no way this ends in the next few days, imo. If reconstruction filibustering kept rolling on until it was literally too late to do anything about it, I reckon Budge, Doncaster and co would be fine with that outcome.
  2. If Patrick Thistle have to suffer so I can laugh at Hearts and Falkirk, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
  3. If there was no way for the votes to get out, I reckon Ron and #respectherivalry Leann would be quite happy to vote for this. Uncle Roy being so definitive about his vote makes things very awkward for them, given the 10-2 threshold. I've had an absolute beamer over the years for the letter-writing VL section of our support but now is their time to shine.
  4. And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday, we chilled on Sunday.
  5. One or two of the Hearts booeys seeming a bit grumpier today. The pendulum of expectation, and thus gloating, will no doubt swing all over the shop in the next few days. This is some laugh regardless. From kiddy on ITK smugness to lashing out at everyone after one article. The only thing we can know for certain is that anyone having a mood swing after a Daily Record 'exclusive' has no idea what is going on. Stan and the lads can park any ITK chat from now on.
  6. Are folk saying they wouldn't mind a 14 team league just putting in the prep for the Hearts bois being a bit smug? If Hibs vote for this shite, I'll be annoyed tbh.
  7. Is Salmond getting this hot goss second hand or was he part of the big conspiracy himself? Maybe one of the Yes Da's will check with him and let us know.
  8. The closest thing we've had to an explanation of the club's legal case from Hearts fans has been mentioning a UK Parliament Act. On that basis, English leagues following the same course of action is of more interest than what happens in France. The reality of course, is that none of us have a clue about the legalities involved. So this news serves as a bit of background noise while the situation drags on for what seems like an eternity.
  9. He completely sacked it in once we were on easy street but I really liked Holt for most of that season. He didn't score much but his strike partner did just about every time. Jason Cummings' entire career since has had a (very large) Grant Holt shaped hole in it. His move to professional wrestling is also one of the best use of a transferable skill you'll see from football. His diving was an absolute joy to watch.
  10. The good people of macclesfieldkickback.co.uk no doubt taking a microscope to the Companies Act as we speak. Surely the EFL won't walk into the same trap.
  11. Open letter from the Federation of P&B Hibernian Bois: 'Snifter's a gimp'. Surely reconstruction is your best bet from here. The way Doncaster has changed his tune since the appearance of money would suggest something is brewing. Certainly seems more of a goer than this 'I've had legal advice though' posturing from Budge.
  12. I've mostly thought about how this should play out based on the all important business of what I find funny. If this is heading in the direction I think it is, I must admit it would stick in my throat a bit. Fair enough if reconstruction looked even remotely likely to be voted through before but if everyone changes their mind as soon as some fast cash becomes available, I don't know what to say.
  13. Acknowledging that they won't get every decision right was a sensible move from Sturgeon. Opinion polling here and in other countries seem to show a willingness for people to give their Government some leeway at a time of crisis. I don't think she's performed well from from a policy perspective but she has communicated in a way that has maximised public trust. You can't say the same for the UK Government. It has been delusional shite from day one about Britain's 'word leading' response. Even before the Cummings thing, it seems like penny was starting to drop that the only thing Britain is leading on is making a total c**t of it. EU political debate in Scotland strikes me as being almost an entirely contrarian, proxy argument around Independence. I know there are a decent number of Yes/Leave voters (probably from the pre-SNP and Labour pivot generation who grew up thinking this way) but if you see someone talking passionately about the EU here, you don't usually have to look far for some strong views either way on the Union. If wee Nippy campaigned for Scotland to remain a part of the earth's gravitational pull, there are probably a million people who would against it.
  14. From what I gather from the P&B Open Uni law degree lads, the issue with Hearts being relegated is that it represents a restriction of trade under the Companies Act. I can't claim to be a legal scholar myself but I'm a bit confused about everyone signing up with these rules. - Bottom team relegated because the season can't be finished = legally contestable restriction of trade. - Rules that would allow a club to be kicked out of competitive football for being wide = no problemo. Whoever drafted these didn't seem to think the law of the land had jurisdiction over who gets to play in football competitions.
  15. The Court of Session need Hearts more than Hearts need the Court of Session.
  16. Imagine reaching a stage where the Scottish Tory MPs are showing up the rest of the party's lack of integrity.
  17. Comical Ali level stuff with this BBC coverage.
  18. If I have one weakness, it’s caring too much.
