  1. Just going back to this? Are we expecting a biggish name signing to be happening? Feel like it’s always a risk at this time of year when you go for a recognised name that maybe hasn’t been playing as much and they inevitably never get up to speed.
  2. Depends if Sanders has been signed to play there. If so then we probably need someone who can cover/oust Reading on the other side. Feel like we need to replace Young with an out and out ball winner as well and then get another attacking midfielder in.
  3. Aye Chalmers will be a miss but I’d expect another 2-3 signings this happen this week and one of them will hopefully be a forward. With the squad we have available I’d bring Sanders in for McAllister and play him or Stanger at RB. If we go and sign another full back this could change things.
  4. Both will be in League 1 next season as well. Shame we’ll lose those tears to the seaside leagues.
  5. McKenzie is quite clearly impeded and falls over as a result. It’s soft but it’s still a foul. We were the better team regardless and well worth the win.
  6. Maybe more likely we’ll sign a midfielder who is more suited to playing at the base of midfield. I don’t think that’s the game of Syla or Dempsey. Someone who can recycle the ball, win it back and drop in as a make shift centre back when pushing forward.
  7. Thomas can play as an attacking midfielder. Played more centrally for Dumbarton in League 1 I believe.
  8. I think the fact we only used three subs tells you that Brown knows we don’t have a lot of quality in depth. A replacement for Ahui (Oakley?), a midfielder and another forward would do for me. Noticed Brown talking up Thomas in the post match comments. Given he was linked with a move away a couple of weeks ago, I’d be asking if he was still wanting out.
  9. Surely McGregor wouldn’t be regarded as an actual signing though? In terms of what would be considered a big name, I’m not sure who’s available? I think we’ll mostly be dealing in loans.
  10. Are domestic and cross border loans not treated differently? Thought it was five domestic loans and four cross borders? That would mean we have 2 domestic left as we have Sanders, Dowds and Chalmers?
  11. Never knew he was so versatile. Presume it would be a loan at this stage but his career seems to have really stalled since Goodwin left. ETA: I still have no idea who the petrol emoji is supposed to be? I’m guessing the tree is Forrest? A signing I could see happening in a couple of years but Rodgers seems to really rate him.
  12. People are still expecting the same Musonda of last August to September to come and appear. It ain’t happening. Since he came back from injury last year he’s been pretty poor and I’m surprised he’s gotten away with his poor form until now.
  13. Hopefully if he does well we’re in a good position to get him permanently and move on Musonda. I’m impressed at how quickly Brown has moved to get someone in so I hope another couple follow next week.
  14. We needed a centre back. We currently have McGinty who is fine, Stanger who has been struggling and Musonda who looks disinterested. McAllister can cover there but is a genuine League 1 standard player at the best of times.
  15. Jack Sanders Happy with that. From memory he scored in the 3-1 game at Somerset and had a good half season at Cove last season.
  16. I’d be more tempted to play a three of Rose - Murphy - Chalmers in behind Dowds. I don’t really rate Amartey tbh. He’s quick and direct but I think he’s a classic case of players getting better the longer they’re out the team. Rose isn’t a striker though but I think he might be better suited out wide. If we’re playing Chalmers on the right and Murphy as a ten then I’d make a left winger a priority.
