  1. I’d be surprised if we didn’t strengthen in January but what players can we bring in that are better than what we’ve got. I think we’ll bring in a centre back and a winger. If Docherty or Shankland go then we’ll need to replace them.
  2. Surely this Edibairn lad is taking the piss with all this Europe talk?
  3. Yeah can’t see him being silly enough to pass that up just because he supports Rangers. Plenty of Rangers fans in the past have signed for Celtic and been very successful. Also if he goes there and does well then he’ll get a move to teams above Championship level.
  4. Celtic now reportedly interested in Shankland. Considering the deal they did with St Mirren last year for Morgan that’s quite promising for us.
  5. Nope It’s harder for Dobbie with the weight of a whole team on his back.
  6. Just seen the boy is actually a Killie fan. No way he was in that neck of the woods by accident.
  7. You can have a bigger budget than all the other teams but you’ll still need a good manager to make it count. I’m sure the season you guys finished 7th you would’ve had a budget that should’ve had you competing at the top of the table but poor management halted that.
  8. The ref was fine for us. The only gripe I had was the constant fouling on Shankland but eventually he got the card out and started booking players. There is no rule that states a ref must give a warning if a player steals yards at a throw in. He wasn’t any worse or better than your normal referee. Had a very average game and if the biggest issue you can pick with him is over a throw in then it’s not really worth complaining about.
  9. Latest with Shankland is Swansea are buying him in January and loaning him back for the rest of the season. Dream scenario for us but only time will tell if it plays out that way. Number 7 is Moffat. Runs the show every time he plays although I’m not sure splashing out on a 33 year old is the type of thing your new owners had in mind. I didn’t think the referee was bad on Friday. The constant pulling of Shankland gets annoying but it happens to him every week and he seems to get on with it.
  10. Yeah we could potentially make more money off him in 2 or 3 years if we decide to sell him in January. I’ve got faith that Cameron or whoever is negotiating on our side will make sure there’s add on fees in there i.e international appearances, sell on fee, bonus if Swansea get promoted or win the league. A few clubs haven’t been savvy enough in recent years (Raith when they sold Bates) to ensure there’s stipulations that can get them a bit of extra cash down the line. If we sell him in January but get a loan back then I’m not overly bothered how much money we get upfront. It’ll be better than him leaving for nothing which the majority of us were prepared for.
  11. I’d absolutely have Smith over Devlin. I’d say there’s more chance of Smith getting a Scotland call up than Devlin.
  12. Mulgrew was an established player though and I don’t think McKenna or Souttar were in the squad then. I think Devlin is out of contract in the summer so hopefully he gets a better move to the Championship.
  13. I’ll admit I never read it in much detail before commenting. It’s the ideal scenario but surely they can sign him on a pre contract in January instead of giving us money?
  14. Reid’s sacking was completely justified. There were arguments that McCall could’ve been sacked as well which I didn’t agree with but wouldn’t have complained had he gone. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but there’s not one fan that would’ve predicted what we’ve done after our last visit to the Championship let alone McCall would’ve been the guy to get us there.
  15. Aye but we beat the revolutionised, revitalised, nice and shiny new Robbie Neilson side that was apparently going to take the league by storm.
  16. McCall keeping it real with AU Media. “Not getting carried away, we’re still 7 points off 40”
  17. I’m not going to pretend for one minute that there’s not been a lot of underwhelming teams this season. Partick and Falkirk made mistakes in pre-season and are suffering because of it and I’d say Dunfermline are way below expectations looking at the squad. That being said we can only beat what is put in front of us and we’re pretty well at that so far.
  18. Only wee guys watch the football under a roof anyway. Or those that don’t want to get wet I suppose. Either way I’m sure Ayr battering in double figures will make up for any unpleasant weather.
  19. I think if he was going to force through a move he would’ve done so in the summer. Also he’ll know that once he’s a free agent he’ll have plenty offers and will be due a decent signing on fee.
  20. It shouldn’t really be that difficult. The prize money for finishing in the playoffs will be higher than any transfer fee that a club will be willing to pay for a player with 6 months left on his contract.
  21. Aye but will take over from Mick McCarthy as manager of the first team after Euro 2020.
