  1. I assumed Sheerin was still recovering from a head knock which was why he hasn't featured. Would be gutted if he left. I think both these teams will finish in the top half On another day, with a different ref we could have won it. Bollan does seem terribly reluctant to use his subs.
  2. Nothing. But it does say the manager, chairman and others have tried to contact him but he's not answering. Don't know what else we can do.
  3. Good article in the programme on Tuesday explaining the Harvey Swann situation in full and answering the questions I and others no doubt have had. It doesn't look like Harvey will be coming back which is a shame, as the left back position looks up for grabs. Other than that the new signings are shaping up well and if our key players can stay injury free, and we don't pick up too many suspensions(Mullen wasted no time in getting his card collection underway), then I don't see any reason why we can't challenge at the right end of the table.
  4. Anyone seen any prices for division two yet? I need to make my annual contribution to the bookmakers' benevolent fund.
  5. Keeper was fine tonight, so it was first game nerves after all. Thank goodness
  6. I presume Swann has been offered a contract. Having nearly signed for Stenny perhaps he feels awkward about 're- signing but surely it would be in the club's interest to make the first move. We don't have many left sided players.
  7. Daft to read too much into one game, especially a friendly but we'll do it anyway. Herd looks a decent addition, neat tidy composed on the ball, Valentine showed a lot of energy and no little skill, Thomas jury's still out Renton and Buchanan same old.Todd coming on in leaps and bounds, h e could turn out to be a really shrewd signing Barr looks fine a really solid back three. The keeper looked a total bomb scare I'm sorry to say, hopefully just first game nerves. He did have a couple of good saves late on before he was subbed. More positives than negatives despite the score. Wedderburn played well for them.
  8. Had a short loan spell with us last season. Was hoping we could sign him now that we have lost McGurn. He looks pretty decent
  9. VAR is a load of complete and utter pish. Sorry, had to get that of my chest
  10. I think Harvey would be quite happy to play for us, he just doesn't get picked.
  11. Lennox released by Patrick.Whether he would sign for us is another matter.
  12. One of the first games I remember seeing was when we beat East Fife 3-1 in the league cup quarter finals. In midfield Basher Murphy was immense. Bob Crampsey on Scotsport said he played like a man possessed. Unfortunately he asked for a raise on the back of that performance and was promptly transferred to Queen of the South , where he became a mainstay of their side for many years.
  13. Agree with Nelly sad to see a player of such promise leave a club where he liked playing, but Bollan obviously didn't fancy him. Hope we don't regret this
  14. Going back a bit further, Archie Robertson brought Mike Clinton from Clyde and played him as a sweeper first time we had seen anything like that . He wasn't big or fast but he read the game brilliantly and was very calm. Made a lot of goals for big Tam Clark with his pinpoint free kicks .Couldn't take a penalty though. Jim Moore was another good one. With Dundee United for years but couldn't get a game because of Doug Smith. Was a bit of a steal for us getting him
  15. Getting withdrawal symptoms already. Had a weird nightmare last night. We were playing up at Elgin, who had signed David Templeton. We were winning 2-0,but ended up losing 3-2 Templeton scoring twice. At the end of the game Dave McGurn, who was wearing a bunnet, pointed at me and said,"It's your fault." Then I was running about the streets of Elgin in a blind panic because I couldn't remember where I had parked the car I woke up in a cold sweat. Is there Joseph out there who can tell me what it all means?
  16. Know how you feel, we went through the same process and didn't stop till we hit the bottom of league two. On a happier note do you still sell those magnificent skirlie pies?
  17. Enjoyed the player of the year awards yesterday. Interesting that the players choice (Mullen) wasn't in the top three of the supporters' choice( Cox McGurn Deas).. Just shows how those on the field see things differently from those off it.Mullen is one player who has benefited from Bollan's management. I never thought he was a natural full back but he has developed into a solid and reliable player, but those yellow cards! Personally I would have voted for McGurn but I have no quarrel with Cox getting it. If any player epitomizes the club motto it's him.
  18. I don't want to labour the point but I think the Clyde coach coming onto the pitch and giving Cox dogs abuse was what caused his meltdown. Anyway good luck in the playoffs, God knows you've suffered long enough.
  19. Happened to be looking that way at the final whistle. Cox went to shake hands with Lang who said something and pushed him away Cox pushed him back then one of the Clyde coaching staff rushed on and gave Cox a mouthful, and then the head was off, and he had to be dragged away.
  20. I would say that Clyde are the best of the four teams in the playoffs, but the playoffs are notoriously unpredictable. I actually thought Nicholl played ok and was surprised when he was subbed win the ball pass it to a team mate what's wrong with that? We will have him if you don't want him. The big away support made for a great atmosphere and the players responded with a really competitive match.
  21. Gave away two poor goals in a flat first half. After conceding the third we stopped punting it up the park(meat and drink for Swinglehurst and Watson) and got it down and passed it around and hey Presto we created enough chances to have got a draw out of it.
