  1. Congratulations, ramshackle stadium terrible pitch friendly people wonderful pies, see you next season
  2. Well done, keep the part time flag flying. I guess I won't be tasting those steak and black pudding pies any time soon.
  3. I think Mullen will be suspended for the next two games after picking up that daft booking on Saturday, so we will have to change a winning team. Another chapter added to the Jordan Sheerin legend.
  4. Neither team at full strength but a really entertaining game. Most of the young kids did well , Sheerin and Allan combined well and created plenty chances. Great finish by Court for second goal Missed the penalty incident, what was penalty for?
  5. I remember Scott having an absolutely stand out performance in a pre season trial match when Fox was manager but we never signed him then. I expected more from him when he did sign for us. Not a complete failure, but he never hit it off the way I hoped he would.
  6. Any man who is willing to have a square go with Christian Nade is ok in my book.
  7. Edinburgh City deserved to win. We didn't turn up first half. Second half was better, more urgency but City always had things in hand. Their experienced pros played the inept ref like a fiddle. Falling in a crumpled heap or a cry of Hey brought a free kick and sometimes a card. It was all they could do keep a straight face. Keeper caught out a bit for first goal otherwise fine but why drop McGurn? Hope Sheerin gets . a run out on Tuesday, Renton could probably do with a rest, Buchanan too.Anything we get up there will be a bonus so why not shuffle the pack.
  8. Sheerin may not b e as fit as we would wish but I don't think that he is any less fit than when he was scoring all those goals. Swann does have defensive frailties but Malcolm isn't even left footed.
  9. Presumably Bollan wanted to give new keeper some game time.He can't have been dropped surely. Keeper did fine, Deas a standout,Henvey good, should have been on much sooner Everyone else so so.
  10. Jordan Allen reminds me a little bit of Greg Stewart
  11. Thought Christopher Johnston was the best player on the park on Saturday and Lewis Strapp impressed also. Are they your players or on loan?
  12. I feel a bit guilty about slagging off Buchanan after the Elgin game as it seems he may have been carrying an injury. Nevertheless our midfield last week with Swann on the left and Scott on the right, looked much more competitive and effective against Clyde.. It will be interesting to see if the manager goes with the same midfield tomorrow.
  13. Marsh certainly made an impact when he moved into midfield, getting rid of a lot of his frustration one suspects, and was lucky not to pick up a card, but at least it stopped Elgin running right through our midfield.
  14. Hopefully we can still sign Fraser, we are sorely lacking a player who is composed on the ball and can pass it ( Harvey Swann?). First twenty minutes were ok then very disappointing.Presumably Malcolm and Miller were there to protect the back four, but didn't. Buchanan was very poor, both defensively and going forward, the Elgin no. 3 was running riot in the second half. I thought Scott playing a bit deeper worked hard and tried to get things going, but mostly the ball was just hit anywhere The goalkeeping fiasco, and Scullion coming on just summed it all up.
  15. Galling to think that we could have had Deas at centre back the last five games, but never mind, hopefully that's the defence sorted now. Sad to see last year's player of the year sitting in the stand at games. I was really pleased when he 're-signed for us as there were other clubs sniffing around, but Harvey has been here eight years and likes the club. Surely it would make sense to have him on the bench as he can cover left back and left midfield. I felt his big fault at full back was a reluctance to boot the ball out of the park when that was the safest course, leading to him getting caught in possession, just the kind of thing to drive a manager like Bollan mad. But he is comfortable on the ball, a good passer, always looking to get forward, and decent with a dead ball. Don't tell me we couldn't use a player like that in midfield.
  16. Nelly's. team exactly the one I would pick, and for the same reasons. A decent bench too with Miller Marsh Swann Renton and Skelly. Renton seems short on fitness and bereft of confidence, according to Lichtie 1320 Skelly clearly has potential but is going through a tough time, while we all know what Swann is capable of but for whatever reason, it's just not happening. It will be a measure of Gary's abilities as a manager if he can get the best out of them, and if he can this squad has possibilities.
  17. Hope Fraser signs, just the kind of player we have been lacking. Might have been put off by having Cowden 316 bellowing at him at half time. Bollan obviously wanted to make a point about last week's second half performance, but that was too many changes, and / Buchanan at left midfield! Deas didn't do too badly considering, get him in for Scullion, Cox and Sheerin up front and it doesn't look too bad. Agree about Swann and Rovers keeper.
  18. Well that was fun. Big accident on A9 , so had to turn back and go up via Braemar, only to hear game off when we reached Dufftown. Bacon roll then back home through terrible traffic jam at Blairgowrie.Hopefully game can be played on one of the international weekends
  19. The young lad would've learned a lot playing with Gilfilan but hey ho let's wait and see.
  20. Very disappointed to hear about Gilfilan. Would still be a first choice for me. Hope we don't live to regret it.
  21. Well Drifter, that 9/2 looked good for a while still we pressed the self destruct button.Sheerin is going to get fed up knocking his pan in every week, only to see goals being gifted at the other end. Hopefully a full strength side will get us back on the rails I wonder if Scott might be worth a try in midfield.
  22. Yes, we were without a couple of key players last night. We beat the Rovers fair and square. Last night was eerily similar to a lot of games last season.Play quite well, squander chances ,concede ridiculous goal, lose the plot.I take it Docherty is injured
  23. Well, you did warn us. I have never seen a keeper so utterly inept with crosses. Prayers for the continued good health of Dave McGurn start today. In contrast, your keeper was very sound and Watt impressed me but apart from that. I suppose that with so many new signings it will take a bit of time. Oh, and your defending at corners is even worse than ours.
