  1. Yikes!!!Stirling were impressive but had plenty of help from us. Our normally rock solid centre backs found Ryan's pace and movement and Mackin's er non pace and non movement difficult to handle. I can't for the life of me see why Buchanan is in the team every week. Oh, and the ref was honking as well
  2. Different attitude different result. Was critical of the attitude the last two games so credit where it's due. Well done to all. Really pleased to see Miller have a much better game.
  3. You are right to say Cowdenbeath should be well up for this game but in our last two games we were anything but.
  4. We were terrible on Saturday and with another more winnable( on paper at least)game on Thursday I wouldn't be surprised if the manager fielded a weakened side tonight and basically conceded the points in the hope of getting a reaction from the players.
  5. It was perfectly reasonable of the manager to start with the same eleven that played quite well in the second half against Edinburgh, but I knew we were going to lose after about five minutes. Listless laboured no spark at all. This is largely the same squad that had us in fourth place before lockdown. Think sailor Cowden has hit the nail on the head. The same level of effort and intensity just isn't there. With Brechin and Rovers to play twice each we need to get our act together.
  6. If Craig Barr gets injured we are in deep doo doo.
  7. Ignore that previous pish. Getting my Sneddons and Huttons mixed up!!!
  8. .Well, Kyle Sneddon didn't last long. A pity. Perhaps our style of play didn't suit him. On Tuesday night you could see him in the first half coming deep to receive the ball and organize the midfield only to watch the ball ...sailing over his head. When we were chasing the game in the second half things started to click so it looked a good sign for the future. But it's not to be. Of course I'm only guessing, his reasons for leaving may have nothing to do with football.
  9. Edinburgh are a decent well drilled side who give little away and have some good players. Having said that we gave them a helping hand with all three goals, not like us. We looked a lot. better once Buchanan went off and Renton came on. At least we are creating chances now. Thought Miller had a real off night, Swann had a good night and Hutton looked better the longer the game went on.
  10. .What a pity we weren't able to travel 100 miles to watch that. One shot on target the entire game! It's pretty obvious where our strengths and weaknesses lie
  11. With Cavanaugh going back to Ireland we look a bit short of options up front.
  12. An Italian Brazilian!! Welcome to the madhouse.
  13. Not noted for his finesse. I like that. Tough as old boots though. He and swinglehurst were as hard a pair of centre backs as you could come up against
  14. The pies a t Montrose are inedible. Stick to the lentil soup there. Best pies in div 2 imo are Albion Rovers and Edinburgh City. I love the Skirlie pies at Brechin but admittedly they are an acquired taste.
  15. Bad news. Chris Hamilton has gone on loan to Stirling Albion I hear.
  16. Partick away. If spectators were allowed in it wouldn't have been too bad a draw. And a day oot in Glesca.
  17. Every Cowden fan who has posted has agreed that Queens were the better side and deserved their win . I think it would be. fair to say queens players were a bit more streetwise in getting decisions from the ref. His yellow cards seemed pretty random. Barr and your number four were booked for what deserved at worst a finger wagging.
  18. Game has been well summed up by others. Thought the ground staff should get a mention for getting the pitch in such decent condition given the terrible weather. Didn't think the referee was up to much. That's five bookings Barr has had and three of them have been for next to nothing. Queens will win the league with something to spare. The only danger would be complacency but their attitude was spot on yesterday. As for us we have to find goals from someplace if we want to climb the table. I haven't given up on Russell just yet, he has a poachers instinct but has he the legs? Good to see Morrison on the bench he could yet be a key player for us.
  19. I fear the game must be in doubt. Heavy snowfall a last night and now lashing with rain
  20. Another player crocked, and out for a while by the look of things A decent young player too, hope he makes a full recovery. It's just one disaster after another at the moment. And Queens Park next week. Big Dave McGurn must be wondering what he's walked into
  21. Todd's injury didn't look good. Decent effort by the players considering our injury situation and the wayrovers have been banging in the goals. Russell had what might best be expressed as a quiet game but I imagine it may take him a little while to get up to speed Thought young Glass had a good game
  22. A bit deflating to drop two points so late in the game due to a goalkeeping blunder but given our injury list I think we are performing pretty well. The left back looks a good bit of business and Cavanaugh looks decent for a young kid. Terrible conditions. I think we will be up there again. Well done to all for the free live stream which was of decent quality as were the commentator.
