  1. Another big test for us against a good Stenny side. Goals continue to be in short supply. Haven't scored two at Galabank in League all season. Today the day to sort that? Missing the big man up front so hoping Tommy Goss back soon Mon th Annan. Ca plane pour moi!
  2. Game day! And eagerly anticipating this evening's televised clash of the giants. Real / Barca that is.... On more mundane matters a cracking morning here. Expect the pubs to be busy this afternoon and after the game. Team news from Annan camp in paper yesterday had Tommy Goss struggling and long term absentees Hoops and Paul Smith not in contention. Would hope that Tam Muir is played up front as Queens seem to be a much more physical proposition this season. Mon th Annan! Ca plane pour moi!
  3. Difficult home game for us this Saturday night. What Annan need is a tall, strong, experienced, pacy centre forward... Looking forward to this but willing to admit not overly confident about getting a result. Combination of long term injuries and a number of loanees means no set formation so far this season. Been thinking there's a large number of players who have played for both sides. I'm making it 9 for Annan and 5 for Queens? Early prediction Annan 1 -Queens 0 ( Gibson 94 min pen)
  4. FWIW I thought we were pish poor yesterday and very lucky indeed to get anything from that game. Only a great stop by Jamie Smith kept us in it in the second half. Should have took the opportunity to put the wee guy in goals under pressure by moving Tam Muir up front much earlier. If that was his debut he can be pleased with his performance and am sure he will have harder paper rounds in front of him. As for the sending off I was behind the goal and thought it definitely was a red card. Watching the video today I'm not that sure. Lucky there's no VAR at this level for us...
  5. Seems nobody can be arsed starting a thread about todays match... The games against Alloa have always been tight cagey affairs and expect no different today. Hopefully the boys have got last week's hiccup out of their system and got the shooting boots on. Looked as we got outmuscled in midfield against Queens so need a bit more aggression shown today. Think we will see a poor crowd with more heading for the weyroc instead of Galabank unfortunately
  6. Naw, he's an Annan lad. f**k all to do with the Borders!
  7. Giving up on catching the Cumbrian Derby. Straight on with main course and the clash of the tight uns! Just now would settle for a draw but the way Annan have been playing won't be surprised to see us coming back down the 75 with all three points. Prediction Qos 1 - Annan 2 ( Smith & Goss) Matty D to get straight red. Mon th Annan. Ca plane pour moi!
  8. What will be the best pub to watch the Carlisle Barrow game? 1230 KO on Sky sports + . Always keep an eye out for our neighbours on the other side!
  9. No mention of The Stone Roses?? One of those bands that have probably sold more t-shirts than records.
  10. Re yesterday's game was pleased with the result but definitely rode our luck in the second half. New keeper impressed me and Wullie and Josh Todd linked up well. Still got Hooper and Kilsby to come into defence so promising signs. Expected more from ICT and their packed bench seemed to be basically their youth team .
  11. The definition of Meh tbh. Felt more confident when Fleming returned from his injury. When first saw his name thought we had started signing players from Edusport again!
  12. And in todays episode of "Getting the band back together " Josh Todd signs up. Pleasing!
  13. Swingles has been the absolute definition of a true servant for the past 12 years. Playing time was becoming more and more limited with his injuries catching up but still never gave less than 100%. Going to be hard to replace his attitude and commitment!
  14. Yep, think these three will be odds on to make the move with Murphy. A real hammer blow to Annan's squad if it happens. Somehow I don't think any of the ex Queens contingent will be that keen on going back to Palmerston... Would also expect moves for Kilsby and Nugent, both impressed at Galabank and now released by Carlisle. If he is now free of the limited budget at Annan Reece Lyons at Kelty and Michael Garrity, Morton, are players Murphy rates but didn't have the funds available for them. Best of luck Mr Murphy. Thanks for the past seven years and fully expect to see you back at Brunton Park in the not too distant future.
  15. FWIW fully expect Wullie Gibson to be a shoo in as the continuity candidate. Question more likely to be does he want back into management after his last experience at Palmerston and some of the personal abuse directed at him. Would hope the board have Danny Graingers number. Did a decent job at Workington and can keep the Carlisle connections. If looking at more left field appointment Gordon Moffat at Clydebank ticks a few boxes. Has Annan link and has done well at Yoker Park. An interesting close season lies ahead. Who needs the play offs!
