  1. Another long trip up North, lots of effort last week but no cutting edge & silly mistakes in possession at times, but it's a young sqaud & a bit up & down... This week it's Peterhead, back at our own level, an extra week's training for Jack Harkness who will hopefully come back in today, Another 90 minutes in Ross Davidson's legs as he builds up to match fitness & we have welcomed Alex Ferguson from St Johnstone on loan... so it's looking a bit better sqaud wise.. hopefully young Arron Weir is ok after last week, he may be a development player but he gets stuck in & max effort, was sadly lacking in 2nd half when Milne came on, if he wasn't signed up for 2yrs along with Hilson I'm convinced they would both have been punted in the summer, definitely not re-signed.. I'm expecting a tough game today, Peterhead have started well But I'm sure AM will have the boys fired up once they cross the white line, they have of course made a few errors this season but they have never lacked in effort and desire...more of the same today lads I can see a few changes IMO Gatson...... Harkness.... Geach... Sula.. Crane.... Wright...Kerr...Davidson... Ferguson.... Roy.....Carrick C'mon the binos
  2. As a Stirling Albion fan, I'm absolutely delighted for Ewan Wilson getting his 1st U21 call up.. I was & still am a big fan of Ewan, everytime he crossed the white line at Forthbank he played well, offered something different & his talent was clear to see.. However we had (note had) a manager at the time Darren Young who's weakness & downfall was his loyalty to the same SPFL2 sqaud that won us the league & 2 signings of his own in Dale Hilson & Lewis Milne... Lewis Milne was & still is a player in a team with no position for him...but because Darren Young signed him a right footed non tackling, tracking, scared to head the ball, hair band wearer he persevered playing him Left Midfield in front of Ewan...sheer stubbornness which pissed off the supporters & ultimately Ewan & Motherwell who recalled him.... it could have been so different if Darren Young just backed down, listened to support... I genuinely saw Ewans talent & am delighted for him, self belief & desire, good luck with the rest of the season & continued success, it's well merited & deserved, i will continue to watch on Thank you for all your efforts at Forthbank Ewan Wilson
  3. Great team performance today From the starting 11 and the subs everyone played there part & capped it off with a special free kick to take all 3 points from Ross Davidson ️ I've said for long enough how much we have missed him & today proved it.... 10 mins competitive football in 15 months & he looked like he hadn't been away, Adam Brown was impressive also in his debut with less than 24 hours notice Jack Harkness looked like he will fit in well down the right, good pace, won the free kick for the goal, his replacement at half time Aaron Weir did well also, for a development player he's really getting a bit more confidence & you can see it in his game I think the crowd could see & appreciate the effort from everyone involved today...it's 9 points from 15... our 1st goal at Forthbank in the league...all in all we are doing ok we will still have our ups & downs but as long as the effort is there Btw Big Eric's cross field diagonal in the 2nd half ️ some pass big man Well done Binos chuffed for the gaffer also, the hard work is paying off Why not us eh Binos
  4. @SA45 that was a quick answer to my post by the board lol
  5. When Saturday comes around Here we go again, this time it's Spartans at home on the grass at Forthbank Pitch looks amazing btw Thought we started decent last week but slowly EF took control of the game & individual errors cost us silly goals... i thought DG could have done better with the first 3 of them but that's football, hopefully we can bounce back today.... heard a few cringeworthy shouts last week of AM will be lucky to make it to Christmas...Bailey Dahl is murder & Harry Wright is a waste of space...these 2 players are just kids...we need to support them...& the manager inherited a shambolic situation...we have 6 points out of 12.... it's going to be a bumpy ride this season... inconsistency will be there...but we need to stick with the team...we have no option... what was good to see was Ross Davidson back on the park...it's going to take him a good few weeks to get match fitness back, but i think he is going to be a real help in the middle of the park, especially to Ricky Waugh. Was hopeful of a few new signings this week but we might pick up a few free agents upcoming...here's hoping anyway Hopefully a good week at training & we bounce back from last week... doesn't seem to be happening for Ally Roy at the moment, so it might be a change upfront...Carrick & McKiinley Other than that i don't see many more unless a few back from injury Harkness still to feature, Hilson injury, Ewan missing injured since ECFC, Denham shut down for the season.... does he drop Crane into WB & take Dahl out for a rest & bring in Milne...or maybe maybe Milne for Weir (just thinking about it to freshen up) as i don't think he will risk Davidson for more than 30 mins Anyway as long as the effort & desire is there, be brave on the ball & also want the ball,, no need to panic in possession, find a man & be positive... last week is behind us, C'mon the binos
  6. As the weekend draws near, 1 move sleep until Saturday 3pm at Forthbank.... just how football should be, that's what Saturdays were all about... It's East Fife our opponents, they will find it a bit strange with 2 stands & terraces behind each goal, but currently not in use, & it's also on grass, I'm sure that they will manage to find their way to the East Stand Early days in the league & everyone is still settling in, but after 3 league games what I've seen so far on the park has been really encouraging.... Gaston is solid in goals Since switching Geach to a 3 along with Sula has also worked well, allowing Josh Kerr to help the young lads in midfield Ricky Waugh looks like he's going to keep getting better, i think Harry Waugh has benefited with game time & confidence The 3 upfront sharing game time is looking good, like the teamwork, but IMO I'm always pleased to see Carrick start, he's always the main man for me.. Again as a whole new sqaud, lot's of youth, still getting used to a new system, the lads are doing really well, of course mistakes are made & wee errors, but the important thing i see & acknowledge is how they play each other, the gaffer & the fans they look like they are enjoying it & it shows when we score, they celebrate aa a team, this sqaud is more connected IMO see it on the park, plenty of talking & supporting each other.... Plenty of effort & desire.... willingness to take the ball & make a pass, something really noticeable in Ricky Waugh's game... Like i said mistakes are made, but it's mistakes trying to be positive, hard work is appreciated once they cross that white line.... we will lose games this season of course, but not by being negative..... i also see lot's of predictions sometimes from our own support saying we will get beat or humped etc..... everyone is different, i respect that, I'm not arrogant but I'm naturally a positive person, i believe we can win any game..... but when we don't as long as it isn't through lack of effort they will always have my support Sad news about Sam Denham that's a cruel injury, 2nd time for the young lad...but I'm sure that he's a battler & won't let it beat him, he will have alot of support & I'm sure Ross Davidson will keep him positive...fingers crossed for a successful operation & a speedy recovery Sam I still think we need a couple of more signings & AM is working on it.... a winger & a couple of experienced midfielder players would be good, its a long season underway I'm taking a guess here at chicken pakora pie for POTW tomorrow Looking forward to 3pm tomorrow, as always i think we will take something from the game, lot's of effort on the park, willingness to run, support each other & stay strong Ally Roy to finally score in the league tomorrow (no dubious claims) ️ C'mon the binos
  7. Wasn't under siege, simply let Clyde have the ball & they couldn't break the defence down, Geach & Sula cleared everything & Gaston slowed the game down... stats can be deceiving at times, putting the ball in the net is what counts ..score reads 0-2 .... plus a bit of confidence & belief.. we all know what the situation was 6 weeks ago.. really pleased for AM & the trust between him &the player's Why not us eh Always positive binos
  8. Well done binos Alot of SPFL2 predictions went a bit wayward today everyone had us getting beat today, including some of our own support.... but we ruffled a few feathers , i think Eric Sula will have enjoyed that Team effort, playing for each other & trusting the manager Not bad for a team with only 6 signed players 6 weeks ago... 6 point's out of 9 on the board is a good start, especially pleased for AM Will leave it at that, back to Forthbank next week & East Fife at home Why not us .... binos
  9. Well Saturday comes around again, binos @ NDP Seems like a quiet week for the sqaud, no more injury updates, so another week's training for the lads to gel & work together, It's going to be tough today but a bit of self belief & trust in each other to be brave on the ball, i'd like to see them move the ball a bit quicker in midfield & stretch the game, IMO still need a LM with a bit of pace who can take a man on & occupy the FB... also a solid veteran midfielder to help the young lads.. Hopefully Carrick starts today Again all we ask is effort on the pitch, desire & willingness to work as a team, will always be behind the lads C'mon the binos
  10. Was just waiting on confirmation that Clyde are playing at NDP on Saturday.... they have had more moves than David Goodwillie Agree with previous posts about £19 being too much for SPFL2 football...& if people don't have the means to go then that's fine, .the atmosphere is bland....catering honkin...parking another thing...great advert But i suppose they need inflated prices to pay the landlords at Accies.... just saying
  11. It's fine & I've always said to have opinions are good.... I think i said it was his best game so far IMO... against Raith & Accies he was a bit caught out in between the lines & ball didn't stick.... I thought on Saturday he was always looking & willing to take/recieve the ball . Yes it didn't always come off but he didn't hide, he wanted it & that's what i like...he had a good few moments in both halves i thought... I think the lad will continue to get better....
  12. Saturday was what it was... a new sqaud... a teenage midfield & huff n puff upfront.... we were nowhere 6 weeks ago so of course it's going to take time .. the manager has even stressed that...with a threadbare sqaud at present we just have to keep going... he's trying to bring others in & I'm sure he's looking at the midfield to help out young Ricky Waugh... i thought young Harry Wright had his best game for us so far on Saturday ...so the ability is there, we just need to encourage them, they will make mistakes but the effort is there to see... Looked better with a 3.... on Saturday.... midfield just needs a bit more ..a playmaker alongside Waugh & a tough tackling midfielder to sit .. Davidson is a loss for sure, going to be a wee while before we get him back,, Milne being injured isn't much of a loss IMO Carrick is definitely our main man upfront... Roy just seems to either be trying too hard or making wrong decisions..Cammy McKiinley is still raw, plenty of effort, hopefully it will click for him, seems to be struggling with the pace of the game... I don't think Euan or Denham will be back for the weekend & with Harkness still injured i cant see much change from Saturday unless any signings come through the door... NDP is a shambles of a ground & catering probably the worse last season...don't expect any better this season. Hopefully we turn up Saturday...plenty effort & desire from the lads in the binos shirts...self belief & we will be right behind them .. 1-1 draw i think C'mon the binos
  13. Good to be back home today & on the grass.... going to be difficult conditions & a spectacle spoiler with the wind but it's the same for both teams 3 points on the board is always a good start, I think today will be a tougher test, but the lads should take confidence from last week.... it wasn't the prettiest performance against ECFC... but taking the positives from the game Josh Kerr absolutely strolled it...Sula complemented him well,, Ricky Waugh looks good in the middle of the park & Roy & Carrick never stopped working,, I'm expecting Harley Ewan might miss out today with injury so will see who replaces him... he might move Crane inside & bring Hilson LM... or could bring Jack Harkness in at RB with Geach moving alongside Sula & Josh Kerr into CM .... just my own thoughts No matter what... 3pm Forthbank crossing white line that desire to play for the binos, effort & teamwork with a willingness to keep going will always be appreciated from the stands ... from nothing we have built a sqaud, let's show the rest of the league we are not going away in SPFL2.... C'mon the binos Why not us
  14. I think that the point is that it's a sqaud that are still starting to get to know each other & each other's game, then the style of play the manager wants to implement.... however the sqaud is really young in the midfield with very limited 1st team experience,, Harrison Howe 17.... Harley Ewan 19.... Ricky Waugh 19... Callum Crane 28... who at times swapped with Bailey Dall 20 because Crane was blawin out his ass So that's what i think the young sqaud comes from,, considering how vital the midfield is in a game it will make mistakes of course & it will learn, but it's alot of pressure on them being so young... that's why i think a fit & match fit Ross Davidson would be a great sounding board for the younger lads but also someone to learn from... Cammy McKiinley has Roy & Carrick to learn from Dall, Harkness, Denham have Geach,Sula & Kerr to learn from The midfield as mentioned above,, including Harry Wright 18.... who have they got to learn from/lean on during the tougher times & bit of dig.... Hilson a makeshift midfielder... Milne who can't/won't tackle or track back, Davidson who's injured.... so these guy's in the middle of the park need a bit of help & i think the gaffer will look at trying to bring in a tough tackling no flair midfielder to do the hard graft to help the youngsters.. IMO i feel the only reason we still have Hilson & Milne is the fact they were 2 yr contracts when we signed them,, I'd have no complaints if both left in the summer & it freed up a bit of cash to re-invest
  15. Binos How will you do 4th What was the best moment from last season Callum Crane's debut & goal followed by a soft sending off at Montrose, we played last 30 mins with 10 men but the team were amazing & atmosphere in the stands was one of the best away days since Stenny away What was the worst moment from last season jeezo.... started for me with Kelty away whilst on a good run, & Spenny got injured, so Josh Cooper did a horrible tackle in the middle of the park which he got sent off for (rightly so) & we went on to lose to a last minute goal,, horrible run ensued,, continued to pick Lewis Milne even though he was honkin,, a player who just didn't have bottle or hunger,, kept Ewan Wilson on the bench which was a real shame,, BC's shocking howler at Annan which cost us a point,, Jojo up at Cove,, & how weak we were against Annan last game of the season & Dumbarton in the playoffs...still hurts What was the one act by the club or any individual that most affected how you did last season DY's refusal to make subs when the game needed it & far to loyal to Milne and Hilson who i think because he signed them he had to justify their inclusion which hurt the team If you had to come up with a new piece of merchandise to sell at your club shop, what would it be? Cotton wool to wrap Ross Davidson up in once he's back & match fit (how we miss him in the middle of the park IMO) I know last season has gone,, but that was really tough at the end how we just went down in a whimper,, thing's didn't seem right in the dressing room,, lack of trust shown by the manager & too loyal,, was hard to take.. But it's gone now,, it's a new era,, new squad,, new beginning,, the good thing is the sqaud has no scars , it's practically a full rebuild & a new gaffer,, i like his transparency, attitude & excellent communication, it helps the young lads to feel relaxed & brave on the ball, they are all keen,, a few good signings & I'm more optimistic than i was 4 weeks ago.. Saturday was a gritty performance, it was all about the 3 points & from practically nothing 4 weeks ago we have a victory to start,, that can only be good for the lads,, I'm looking forward to Saturdays again,, seeing the binos & workrate & desire once they cross the white line,, it's all we ask,, don't be afraid to want the ball,, it's a team effort on & off the park including the supporters... so with that i think we will make the playoffs this year & who knows what might happen WHY NOT US... C'mon the binos
