  1. would not shock me, our mentality is pathetic at times.
  2. Yet if he was welsh or northern irish theyd no hesitate to call him up? whats the difference?
  3. This. He is another who seems to get some sort of free pass just because he plays in the EPL. There are younger lads who are better, quicker and less diva like than this one.
  4. Burky great post... On a similar note I read that Steve Clarke said he barely gets any time to coach the players and impart onto the players what he wishes them to do....I am sure there will be people who say "they are professionals" surely they know that they are doing but for me this kind of demonstrates this is a man who actually WANTS to get things right and get us improving, in that respect isnt it up to the SFA TPTB to help him? In 2005 I am quite sure that Walter Smith sacrificed pointless friendlies to get the players together for training camps instead, maybe worth doing in the next window to try and get ready for the Play offs?
  5. have said the same about McGinn for ages, ive yet to see him play well for Scotland and doubt I ever will.
  6. We are such a forgiving nation arent we? its not like he is going play anyway so lets calm down!
  7. our attitude as a nation is poor , we look for problems and never solutions....Wales? Saw Potential in Bale, played him early, England, now seeing potential and they play it, us? we procrastinate and get all high and mighty about "experience" , until that attitude changes we will never improve much....the irony is that Vogts, as maligned as he was, had no fear in putting McFadden and Fletcher in...but hey lets wait till Gilmour has played 10000 games before he is called up
  8. whats mind boggling is there were no moans when the still, in my eyes, overrated John McGinn was getting call ups a Championship Player yet Shankland is called up and people go nuts? we truly are a negative nation arent we? If Shankland was scoring goals for fun for Fleetwood and got a call up we wouldnt bat much of an eyelid yet we ridicule ourselves for calling up a lad on our own doorstep? are we ever happy he could be amazing he could be rubbish but for years we have cried about not picking players in form, this is a player bang in form and high in confidence why not give him a go?
  9. awaiting the 5-6 call offs before the games actually take place!
  10. he is important to the 21s who have started well but IMO he should be on the pathway to the full squad in terms of training with the full squad where possible etc. Irish Teams and Wales fastrack talent in when they see it, even England do as well, i fear we will make the mistake of leaving it too late like we always seem to do.
  11. He was great on Monday I agree..... Our issue is not one of ability as clearly these players have it, the issue is and always will be a mentality issue, it is probably at the worst I have ever seen in my life time in that we crumble at the sign of any pressure, we just cannot cope it and the navy scotland jersey is a massive weight at the moment due to our impatience to qualify for something again, said it for years, we have better talent than both Irish Teams and taking Bale away are just as good as the Welsh the issue is we live in the doldrums and seize and jump on anything negative.
  12. AFC Fan in peace here....why does Rodgers love to take random loan signings in that he has little intention of playing? surely there are young players at the club deserving of a chance?
  13. Judging by the comments on FB this move is the end of the world....Personally I think it is a move that suits both parties, he gets a chance of more regular football and a secure contract, he was no longer a regular and time was catching up with him, better for him to go with good memories and will as opposed to staying around 1 or 2 years too many.... lets leave the press and keyboard warriors to their OTT reactions over the apparent embarrassment of an SPL Player going to a non league club, lets put things in perspective, 90% of the teams in the national league premier are Full Time, Salford and Harrogate who got Promoted as well were both FT in National League North such is the money and resources available down south at the moment. I get so tired of the England/Scotland league argument, England is a country of nearly 50m people us 5, if we put the same effort into loving our league as much as we argue about their one or the old firm things might actually get even better. FWIW as a club I think AFC have done the right thing but personally I am not so sure I trust Mcinnes as much if that makes sense? His results speak for themselves but this season is not going to be so easy, his transfer record is not the best and he is not renowned for putting faith in younger players from within the club so I truly hope he gets it right in terms of a replacement and he doesn't just loan in some total random who will never play.
  14. he could sign for Billericay Town and Strachan will still select him
  15. Guaranteed to make every squad now just for being back at an English Club....
  16. As annoying as his comments are he is kind of telling the truth........Boyce has even half a good season some idiotic Relegation Threatened Premiership Team will consider throwing silly money for him and for a Club like Burton that will keep them going for years........Sadly if he scores 30 for Aberdeen you are not going to get English Premier Clubs come calling, that is the difference at the moment hence the comments. Being honest though, I don't think Boyce is all that anyway, yes he was top scorer in the League which I respect but it is arguably less pressure being a star for Ross County as opposed to the leading Man at a Club like Aberdeen, who is to say he would have found the same form at Aberdeen? He could very well go on to be a massive star for Burton but that is at Burton, a small fish where there is not much expectation as there is at Aberdeen.
  17. some of the reactions on FB about Jack are a bit concerning...Grown Men acting like this over someone moving Job's is quite sad!! As has been said above he wasn't even one of the Dons' best players this season past so the faux ott reactions from some are just very strange.
  18. he has been awful since leaving Hull, he should not play ahead of likes of Armstrong, need to play the players in form.
  19. one of the very few times I have actually agreed with Strachan is over this decision with Burke...other nations do the same ie England wanted to send Rashford to the 21s Euros, Spain do it as well so I see no harm in sending the lad to a tournament like this to express himself......as has been said less pressure on him there and he can maybe do well as opposed to being dragged down by the obligatory 3-0 defeat against England.
  20. very strange as to why he is not getting a chance there.......hoping for a better future for him next season
  21. I am quite sure in Private that Adrian Durham has his "real" views on Scottish Football, perhaps they are the same as the bile he spits on his show but as I said in an earlier post 99% of the time he is reading from an agreed script to try and get as much bites, reaction and anger as possible in order to get publicity for him, his show and most importantly Talksport. You wont get much more proof that it is scripted, pre planned or talked about more than the rant he went on last night, there is no way he was able to ramble through that spiel in the time he did without reading off of something or getting a cue because it just didn't roll off the tongue as naturally as it should. They need to slate Scottish Football because it gives them something to laugh at when their clubs are failing, same as when it comes to International Football, it is just broadcasting to meet and satisy the lowest common denominator of human, anyone with half a brain would not call up and go on these stations, that is why they make you speak to researchers before you get on as they only want idiots on, people with any sense are not allowed! Bashing Scottish Football is an lazy and easy trap to fall into but lets be fair, we get our nickers in a twist if the English Media do it but we are not exactly innocent ourselves either, I mean we all do it? If its not about conspiracies against us all by a corrupt Rangers supporting FA its about something else and that is a true fact!
  22. To answer your question yes, it is and these people are often the most affluent as well! I am a proud Aberdonian but have always felt as a City we act as if we are better than everyone else then moan about why no one else ie Central Belt cares about us etc.......That is why. The change in Dundee as a City should be an example to Aberdeen as a City how to rebrand yourself, Dundee City Centre and the Riverfront are lovely places to be now, any Aberdonian who scoffs and turns their noses up at that belief should visit Dundee for themselves.
  23. alas that would be too convenient for them to look at stats like this.........this is the thing about the English Media, they can never see past their own noses so it is always easy and convenient to slate Scottish Football due to the fact their overpriced, overhyped and media saturated big league is a one horse race despite what they say this season...... also as much as it annoys me to hear clowns like Durham, Gough (what does he know about football?), Lewis and Cundy etc slate Scotland I think we have to accept that their job at Talksport is to get bites and wind people up, anyone who listens to the likes of Durham every day will know that he changes his stance and viewpoint on stuff to suit whats in the news, its all just one big ploy to create hype and hysteria. As soon as Scottish People and fans in general stop biting and rising to their patter they will soon be out of a job!!
  24. people are the same about Darren Fletcher, especially when he was younger, it was felt just because he was, at the time, a Man U Player that he was some sort of Ronaldo when he just wasn't that type of player, he would and still does make passes that some Scotland players just are not on the same wavelength.
  25. The store is lucky as it is not often you see that miserable sod smiling!! As for the Stadium this caper is why I hate being Aberdonian and from this area. I have never come across a more up itself set of people in all my life, here we stand with a chance to help make our only senior football club progress, to potentially become bigger, to offer jobs, facilities for the community etc and as usual the snobs and jobsworth brigade come up with reasons to want to reject it, probably the same people who reject EVERY single proposal the city has probably because it may effect things like their precious house values etc etc. Why is it that Dundee, which for some reason is maligned unfairly by Aberdonians, is a better city than Aberdeen in pretty much everything atm can look at a new stadium being built and the reaction is largely positive yet as always in Aberdeen a huge song and dance is made about it? It took 40 years for us to get a bypass, probably be another 100 years before they dual the road to Inverness. For a City that prides itself on its affluence and links to Industry we are nothing more than a glorified town with a backwater inward way of thinking and it has to stop. That a club the size of Aberdeen still doesn't have its own training ground, even St Mirren have one, is a total disgrace and says all you need to know about how things work up here. Quite simply this needs to happen as we need to move forward as a city and a region, lets get behind the Club and drive it forward.
