It's not the impression your original post gave by a long way. You unfairly maligned the kid. You were clearly speculating. That doesn't do Berwick Rangers any favours in attracting good young talent on loan. Thank you for going some way to clarifying and  correcting the record.

I wasn’t having a go at the kid at all. Like I said I like him.

Best wishes for the future, I hope Cedwyn finds a club where he can prove his talent.

To be clear, the first manager told you directly? And then the second manager told you directly? That he has a bad attitude such that he treats it like a kick about with his mates?

Yes but nether said he had a bad attitude just they had spoken to him about it. It could have been constructive criticism for all I know.

I read what you said. Your audience can decide for themselves, on the evidence of the lad's performances, whether he was treating playing for Berwick as just a kick about with his mates. They can also make what they want of your throw away speculation about Forfar. I will simply repeat my comment that your post is incorrect, except for the fact that he did ask to leave. Like the manager who signed him asked to leave. And like, it seems, a few other players. Question your sources.

I have said what I was told directly.

FYI this is what I sent to the incoming manager

Cedwyn Scott (Striker) On loan from Dundee. Quick, takes up good positions and knows where the net is. Like him.

Who's your source for saying Cedwyn has a bad attitude?  It seems you can't be associated with Berwick without getting caught up in character assassination.

This comment from Disc Potato is completely wrong, except for the fact that Cedwyn was not sent back. I asked Disc Potato for his source of information about Forfar. He hasn't answered.

The idea that Cedwyn thought playing for Berwick was like a kick about with his mates is clearly fanciful nonsense. Where does anybody get that idea from? He ended with 4 goals in 6 starts with a top goals to minutes ratio, all the more remarkable given Berwick has been described as the worst performing team North and South of the border.

When a club is bumping along at the bottom of the league, the manager resigning, numerous players getting sent off weekly, a wholly unfit assistant manager filling in and then getting the hook at half time, fans angry and frustrated, would you want a player to express some honest words in a frank dressing room conversation? Or keep his head down and not say a single word that might be construed by someone somewhere as rocking the boat? Which is the good attitude?  Which is the bad attitude?

The lad left home at 15 in the hope of making a career playing the game he loves, and worked hard to win a professional contract with Huddersfield Town at age 18.  On the back of winning a fans award at Dundee FC for his performances in the under 20s, he went on to make first team appearances off the bench in the Scottish premiership. Anyone peddling the idea that he would treat his first professional starts at a proud football club like Berwick Rangers as kick abouts with his mates clearly has no idea about him. That person needs to question the sources of their information.

    FFS man.

read what I said. The previous manager spoke to him about his attitude. The current manager spoke to him about his attitude. He wanted to leave and the current manager offered to drive him back. He returned to Dundee so please move on.

He hasn’t played much since joining Forfar was all I was saying.

  5. Some statistics. Gretna matched not included due to very weak opponents.

Maybe now is a good time to change. Last two managers results on games 3 and 4. Havent got exact date for John Coughlin, Colin Cameron or Ian Little but would be happy for someone to add their stats. Will be interesting to see results.

    Johnny Harvey
Elgin City 2 Berwick Rangers 4
Berwick Rangers 2 Albion Rovers 0

    Robbie Horn
    Stenhousemuir 3 Berwick Rangers 0
    Peterhead 0  Berwick Rangers 2

  6. There is so so much to write about. It’s too painful to transfer my thoughts into writing.

i touched on it two weeks ago but a director doing post match interviews doesn’t work. George says this week, Johnny we now have to look forward to next week.  That’s the last thing we want to hear.

I spoke to a director after the 7-1 humping at Hampden, quote “Managers have been sacked for less” I spoke to two directors a few weeks ago that agreed a change was required but nothing has happened. Who is pulling the strings and making decisions at board level? This is costing us now but can’t imagine to think about the future, one thing is a certain that future won’t last long.

One final suggestion. Why don’t the board  hire someone to go and find a shortlist of two or three candidates who would take on the role for the playoffs. The board would be entrusted to interview and appoint but clearly they don’t have the contacts to get to that stage.

  7. To start a season with Ally Adams as our No1 and end it with a worse goalkeeper is a skill in its own.

John Bell is a major asset as a director of Berwick Rangers but what has become clear over the last few weeks is he certainly isn’t the right person to  be our next chairman.

Were fucked good and proper. Spare me the get behind us lark, PLEASE.  The support have made their feelings known, it is them that own the club, why is nobody on the board listening?

Anyway it’s too late now, the club has become worthless and should be cheap for any new owner wishing to takeover.

    BERWICK RANGERS RIP

It's November 2019. We are away at Airdrie for the first time in years and looking forward to Thistle coming to Broadwood next week.

At that point I am fairly sure very few will be sitting thinking ' if only we had come up as champions'.

    What a lovely thought.

We are looking at a bonfire bonanza against Civil Service Strollers and Vale Of Leithen.

I really thought there would have been more of an outcry from Berwick about Albion gaining from our mistake.

I hope you continue your poor run on Saturday, then after that - just remember - you beat Peterhead recently, so you can certainly beat EKFC or Cove Rangers.

    Good luck.

They wanted nothing to do with an appeal . In the end after persuasion they sent a supporting statement for Clyde. Through a good friend I sent them advice from a lawyer that also helped Clyde. It wasn’t to be.

  10. A talk in with disgruntled fans is being organised for Wednesday. I’m out of town and even if I was here I wouldn’t be attending.

This reeks of the board not having a clue on how to move forward. As Berwick Mad asks, who is running the club now? I’ve been very supportive of the board and helped where possible but they are going to carry responsibility for this head on car crash.

GET YOUR HEADS TOGETHER AND SORT THIS, IT WONT SORT ITSELF THEY WAY THINGS ARE.

Harveys family calling lifelong fans for being negative was the final straw for me after that interview.

Im starting to get really annoyed.

  11. There was a very interesting thread on twitter last night that has now been deleted.

Craig Hume (Surprise, Surprise) supported his brother-in-law and manager and thanked him for taking him from the bottom of the juniors to the SPFL.

Some very interesting replies that called him out for being a “grass” and players leaving because of him.

We could stand for that if he was any good but he is awful and some of the reason we are in this mess as too many have made the move from the bottom of the juniors into one SPFL team.

If the answer is Jimmy Crease or John Coughlin then what is the question?!

To continue previous metaphor: I can see a line of thought that says it's too late to alter course now. Even if you got a new man by mid-week they've 3 training sessions and 1 game before Albion. Upon seeing the iceberg Titanic would've been better hitting it head on not swerving too late and broadsiding it. Imponderables.

We need someone to organise this team of players with a game plan to win enough points to finish ninth.

Today, organised yes, effort good, game plan not sure.

Albion Rovers signed three strikers that carry an attacking threat, play 4-4-2, press high and get the ball into their front men at the first opportunity. Fairly basic but has worked for them.

There is no point sacking Johnny without having a replacement lined up, the board at least have to look at other options, make calls, see what’s available to them and make a decision, stick or twist.

Nobody seems to be questioning the very fact that Harvey is still in charge and most likely will be for our remaining survival games.

How on earth our Board think he’s the man to lead us out of this mess is beyond me. He should never have seen today.

The board will be panicking as the only contact number they have between them is John Coughlin and right now I’d take that.

You can’t advertise a job at this stage and the club don’t network too well. There is no contact with agents to even know who is available.

It all points to a lack of leadership and knowledge about the product, football.

  14. Went to pick up a team sheet 2.25. A couple of guys in the club said Honestly don’t take one, you won’t like what you’re about to see.

I went to the match not expecting a win tbh but to leave with some optimism, especially for the AR match. Any slight hope was drained when looking at the starting X1. I don’t need to mention the match, the manager picks the team and we lost all chance before a ball was kicked.

I was a big fan of Harvey as a manager and honestly still like him but enough is enough and it’s time to call it a day.
