  1. Apart from those who were already signed until May 2018!
  2. They are not new deals as they were already on deals until May 2018
  3. Little, Gold, Prunty and Doris signed until May 2018 as well. Have faith in the management and the board. It is not as if they haven't got experience of signing players.
  4. Is he going full time to Dubai? I know his girlfriend is based there and he has just gone on holiday there, but not aware that he was relocating there.
  5. Gold, Little, Hamilton, Hodge, Linn, McCord, Whatley, Doris, Prunty (just for his singing!).
  6. Yes I know. That was the point of my hypothetical question. It is getting late so I will leave it there.
  7. Yes, that is true. So where would that have left us?
  8. Yes it will be. If they hadn't won today and with Brechin going up, our New Year derby would be against East Fife, so Station Park is preferable.
  9. Well Forfar securing promotion will surely scupper the chances of us getting TOB and Denholm. That is 3 Saturdays in a row they have been involved in a 6-goal thriller.
  10. They have now ditched the fancy dress for more logical holiday attire.
  11. Was watching the women's FA Cup Final at Wembley last night and saw a familiar face a few rows back in the Royal Box. AFC Director, Anne McKeown, probably there in her role as a member of Board of Scottish Womens Football, a member of the EUFA Womens Football Committee. Last weekend she was on the pitch at Forthbank celebrating with 1000 Lichties and today she is at Wembley with 35,000 watching a prestigious match in the women's game. She has quite a profile in the women's game and I suppose it must be good for Arbroath for her to be have the contacts that she has in the SFA.
  12. Really?? That is news to me. I knew cup games were no longer included but don't remember being told the play offs weren't either.
  13. Just going through my wallet and came across this. Realised I won't be needing it again. It would have been a bonus to get an extra game or two out of it, and I think that I kind of hoped for that back January/February, but getting the result we did on Saturday mean that the next 2 Saturdays are now free. Champions!!! Feels good.
  14. Absolutely agree. If we were still in League 2, then perhaps yes he could do a job at Gayfield, but not with the step up to League 1 and Dick''s statement that the Club be pushing for promotion.
  15. I am not suggesting that Rab isn't entitled to a medal, just curious about the eligibility criteria. I seem to recall in the past players needed to games a percentage of games to qualify. Ironically, on Saturday in the first half, at 1-0 up, Rab was doing a very rigorous warm up and then stood by the bench, bib off as if about to come on. I heard someone say that Dick was going to bring him on so he could get a medal, though that obviously didn't happen. When we went onto the pitch at the end I spoke to Rab and asked if was going to get a medal and he said he didn't know or care as he was just happy for the boys. So I am curious about whether Mutch will get one and if so, how that could/would be presented to him.
  16. Just wondering about the medal allocation to the League Champions. Big Rab got one on Saturday despite not playing a single competitive minute. So surely Robbie Mutch should get one as he played for the first part of the season before he got taken out at Edinburgh. Just wondering if anyone knows who is and who isn't eligible for a medal.
  17. I hadn't realised that either, but it does explain the emotion yesterday. It also explains his reaction at full time last week against Elgin. He was on as a late sub, and when the full time whistle went, he really punched the air several times right in front of the fans behind the goal. At the time I looked and thought, 'wow, he is happy with the win". Now in hindsight it was as important to him as it was to the fans as it put him one game away from winning the league. Really pleased for him as he seems like a really great guy, and popular with his team mates. I think that he should have had more game time this season, but Dick persevered with Jimmy Scott instead. Hope he will be still at Gayfield next season.
  18. When can we migrate this thread to the Scottish League 1 General Chatter page?
  19. Nice screen shot from Soccer Saturday tonight! Just back in Arbroath now and am very, very happy with how the season has panned out. A huge well done to Dick, Ian and the rest of the management/coaching staff. Made some excellent signings as well as transforming the remnants of last season's squad by giving them belief and believing in them. I know that there were some doubtful fans with his appointment, as well as some less than friendly comments his way in some games. But you cannot complain about him taking the Club from bottom of the league to Champions in one season. I did wonder at times during the season whether he would stick around next season, if promotion wasn't achieved, but I think that the affection the fans genuinely do have for him, came across loud and clear before and after the game.
  20. I haven't heard his comments yet, so look forward to that, but yes he does take lot of stick, from home and away fans. But he is thst sort of character, and plays up to it too. Lot of love for Dick tonight!
  21. I agree with Housecaptain. Thanks to fans of other clubs for their congratulations and thank you to Stirling staff for making it an enjoyable day. The stewards were very tolerant easygoing. The pie shop staff were friendly under pressure from a big support and the Stirling officials and staff were great in allowing us to join the players on the pitch.
