  1. Hammy MOTM!! He looked like a decent player who has lost all of his confidence! A complete liability at times and.could not cope with Todarov's physical game. Every time the ball was near him in a defensive area he looked like a rabbit in the headlights. Scared and scarey. Not wanting to get on the boy's back but I think that he has been a major disappointment since his return.
  2. Well that was embarrassing! Not the result. Not the performance. What was embarrassing was the poor home support. It was embarrassing for the tv cameras to beam pictures across the country of a less than half full home end, whilst the away end was full and bouncing. What is wrong with football fans in this town?? Are there too many Auld Firm armchair supporters who are not interested in their local club? Was the shite we experienced last season too much and has driven normal fans away. I doubt it! Plenty of unfamiliar faces in the home crowd tonight, so more than usual turned up but why could we not attract enough to at least make it look like this town deserves a football club. FFS!
  3. Where are people reading or hearing about who has signed and who has been released?
  4. The postponed Boxing Day game against East Stirling is now on Tuesday 16 Feb at 7.45.
  5. I agree Simon, Grehan was obviously on his way out. Not getting regular starts and then young loan players coming in and pushing him further down the pecking order. Plus no one seemed to agree on how to pronounce his name which didn't help!!!
  6. You are right, that isn't prolific, and without drilling down into the detail of minutes played per goal etc, it is a pretty poor return at face value. But, he seems to be very well regarded at Hamilton so hopefully his potential will show through at Gayfield for 3 months.
  7. Just seen on Twitter via the Accies site that the loan is 3 months, so not even to January.
  8. Sounds like he has a lot of potential, but the injury could be a concern. That is now 3 strikers all coming back after lengthy layoffs. Is this loan also just to January?
  9. That is even more bizarre!! It can't have been a surprise to them to know what date the season started. Crazy if you ask me.
  10. So it takes both of them to scout a striker?? Bizarre! Should have been one.of them in the dugout.
  11. Does anyone know why Lumsden and Hislop were not there yesterday? A bit strange having the Captain and goalkeeping coach managing the team.
  12. So, as S_B_C says, 5 games in 10 days is a damn good effort for a part-time squad. Will have done the fitness levels the world of good as well as allowing Todd to experiment and see players in different positions and combinations. Some worked and some didn't but that is one of the main points of friendlies, especially with new players. To expect 5 wins and 5 clean sheets was a bit much, considering 3 games were against full-time players. But 4 out of 5 was very pleasing and gives us good hope for the forthcoming season. I am quite excited and quietly optimistic. I am very interested to see who will start against Dunfermline and Elgin, as I suspect we will see a few changes between the 2 lineups.
  13. Ouch!! That could be hi out for a while. Shame as he was looking very promising.
  14. Usually sub!! He is supposed to be a striker but he looks to me like he wears his boots on the wrong feet most of the time!! Can't believe he is ready for the step up to League 1 when he could hardly get a game in League 2 last season.
  15. Of course the two locations you mention are more awkward for midweek, but this one was avoidable. Weather affected matches are one thing but this fixture change was simply down to the ridiculous situation with the football authorities. If we had drawn any other team the we would have been playing at 3 pm on Saturday. But because Hearts are a PL side they should never have been in this round as their season starts that weekend, whereas all other leagues are the following weekend. So, because of the ineptitude of the people who run the game whoever were drawn against Hearts were going to have a fixture change. That was obvious as far back as May. For a professional side in the Championship it wouldn't have mattered for their players, as they are full time. But for all part time clubs this situation was going to cause a disruption and difficulty for players having to get time off work. Bobby Linn has already commented on this. You are right that Edinburgh is not a huge journey and it would have been worse for Elgin (or Brora if they had beaten Montrose), but is is an unnecessary fixture change that could have been avoided if the powers that be, had thought ahead. That said, I do believe that they are looking at resolving this before the draw next year.
  16. That is not the best news we have had this week. Not easy for fans to get through to Edinburgh after a working day let alone the players who have full time jobs.
  17. Totally agree. He looked really solid and fitted well into that team lineup.
  18. Anyone know why Mark Whatley was not even on the bench? Not seen any suggestions that he is injured and he was at training on Saturday.
  19. I have heard good things about Callum Brodie and was surprised when he was released. I think that he will be a good backup keeper with the potential,to challenge for the No1 spot in due course.
  20. Thanks for letting me join this board. Looking forward to some good chat in the new season.
