  1. Got to laugh going to Palmerston. all the 22 stone fat baldy gets who would have a heart attack walking more than 2 steps slagging the team off. No matter how bad your playing you don’t deserve the abuse some of the players get. No other occupation I know where you can walk in and call someone whatever you want. Might try it in the local shops see if the service improves.
  2. Dobbie taking all the plaudits last night and rightly so but I thought Dykes worked his socks off. He was up front, midfield and on occasions defence. Just a shame his Ryan McCann (if slightly shorter) effort in the first half just went wide of the post. He doesn’t score as many as people would like but links up well with Dobbie and it would be interesting to see how many assists he has for Dobbie. It was his pressing of the defender which led to the 3rd goal for Dobbie.
  3. According to official website Gary Harkins been released from his contract
  4. Unfortunately missed the game but from the highlights it looks like Dykes sets up all of Dobbie,s goals. I know one was a penalty but it was his pass to Stirling which led to the penalty
  5. St Johnstone at home 2nd round of the league cup
  6. Ffs 2 goals in 2 mins 2 1 Motherwell and ST Mirren now 6 0 up
  7. Ever the optimist when it comes to Queens. This is not to be taken to seriously as it is very unlikely but if Motherwell failed to win on Saturday and we topped the group, then we could still be seeded. There is no way we can beat Group E so we would need 4 of the other 6 points below to happen. Group A – Ross County beat Alloa by less than 8 goals , or they draw with Ross C winning on penalties Group B – Forfar beat St Johnstone or a draw with Forfar winning on penalties Group C – Hearts beat Inverness 1 0. Group D – Dundee fail to beat Brechin and Stirling beat Dunfermline 3 0. If Dunfermline score it would have to be a Stirling win by 4 clear goals as Dunfermline have the better away goals record. Group E – As I have mentioned no way we can beat the top placed team in this group as Ayr play Partick T and both are currently on 9 points Group F – If Airdrie fail to beat Hamilton and Berwick beat or draw with Livingston and win on penalties Group H – If Kilmarnock fail to beat Queens Park and St Mirren score less than 8 goals against Dumbarton. SD or someone can correct me if I am wrong
  8. I may be wrong so open to any changes. Qualification Still some games to be played tonight so still a bit unclear. Easiest scenario is Clyde and Motherwell draw or Clyde win. Either result would see us through as group winners. Group A Ross C play Arbroath tonight and assuming a win for them they would be on to 9 points and Alloa 8 points and they play each other last game. Assuming Ross C don’t win by 5 or more goals tonight then a win for Alloa or Ross County would mean we finish better than the 2nd place team on GD. A draw would also do us provided Ross C won the penalties. Will know better tomorrow. Group B Montrose play Forfar tonight and unless they win by 7 clear goals then we are better off than 2nd place in that group. Group C Inverness play Hearts on Sunday and we are bound to finish better off than one of them so that group can be discounted. Group D They all play tonight so a bit more complicated Group E Anything bar an Ayr win or a win for Partick by 3 clear goals would mean that 2nd in that group would finish above us. They play each other in the last game. Group F Livingston play Berwick and Airdrie play Hamilton. One would assume Livingston would beat Berwick so our best hope is Hamilton beating Airdrie by any score or a narrow win for Airdrie Group H Kilmarnock play Queens Park and St Mirren play Dumbarton. Again you would assume Kilmarnock would win, however anything less than a win and we would be better off than them. St Mirren would have to beat Dumbarton by 8 clear goals and they are yet to win a game with three draws all won on penalties. We are already guaranteed finishing 7th best 2nd place, and barring strange results we should be better off than B and H, I know that doesn't quite get us there but our GD certainly helps.
  9. Minutes silence. Never liked minutes applause. Hopefully we will doing that during the game.
  10. The top 4 first teams are seeded with Hibs, Aberdeen,Celtic and Rangers. The other plus the 4 best 2nd place teams are unseeded. Good chance with other GD we could be seeded if we win the group
  11. Good grief you would think we had lost on Saturday. I was standing in front off a guy on Saturday and I’m certain we could have been 6 0 up against Real Mardrid at half time in the champions league final and he would still have moaned.
  12. I was also convinced trialist midfielder was Owen Bell.
  13. Top seeded teams in the South section for the forthcoming league cup group stage. Hamilton, Partick, Motherwell, Kilmarnock. who do we fancy in our group?
  14. Apologies if this has already been mentioned and I have missed it. A friend made a comment that Dobbie hadn't scored many goals at Palmerston this season. He suggested that perhaps the grass suits him more than the uneven bounce that the pitch at Palmerston creates, allowing him to control the ball instantly and turn at defenders. He has only scored 3 of 18 goals this season at Palmerston. I know it may be slightly misleading as we have at present played more away games than home ones. Player Lge LC CC SC Total H A H A H A H A H A T Dobbie 1 8 1 3 4 1 3 15 18 Lyle 4 1 1 1 1 6 2 8 Kerr 3 1 1 3 4 Fordyce 1 2 1 2 3 Dykes 2 1 2 1 3 Kane 2 1 0 3 3 Brownlie 1 1 1 3 0 3 Rooney 1 1 1 1 2 3 Rankin 1 1 0 1 Stirling 1 0 1 1
  15. Another good performance by the development team last night. Ran out 3 0 winners and never really looked in danger of conceding a goal. That's 5 goals in the first two games without reply.
  16. Good solid performance last night. Anyone know what the team was, a lot of new faces. I thought our goalkeeper had a good game.
  17. Another clean sheet and a goal from a defender not to bad a return from our defense so far.
  18. What kind of message would bringing back Robinson give to Leighfield. Sorry, you are our 2nd choice goalkeeper but only if you have to sit on the bench all the time. If we actually have to play you then sorry we have to get another keeper or grovel to Robinson.
  19. Just to cover all bases. another scenario in group C to watch is that Cowdenbeath do not win both their remaining games against Dundee tonight and Raith Rovers on Saturday. A draw (and win on penalties) may also be enough for them depending on goal difference in the game they win and Dundee fail to beat Dundee Utd.
  20. I think our equaliser was worse from a Hamilton defence/Goalkeeper point of view, a long aimless ball by us into the penalty box totally misread by the defender and the goalkeeper. I may be in a minority but I actually think our defence looks a little better than last season but early days.
