I have to l leave at 4 to go to my cousin's, pick up him and the weans, bite to eat then they like to be in as the turnstiles open
If the game is called off by the ref could we maybe get petrol reimbursed from or Ibrox windfall

Is it actually Ayr’s decision to make at this stage? Not sure that it is but no doubt someone will advise accordingly.
Ref will have the final say regardless if we want to play it or not. He'll get there, have a wander around the pitch and call it off.

That's absolutely shite from the club, especially with the conditions and distance Arbroath will be travelling.
Aye. I feel it's inevitable the ref will call it off when he gets here. If so then it's shite for fans paying for petrol and driving in dangerous conditions. Clubs don't give a fck about fans

Ref to get there about 6.30 and call the game off. Predictable but shite for players/fans having to travel there and back in these conditions

The game last year was a joke Dempsey tried to take pen about 15 times before the ball stayed still the wind will be worse tonight by all accountsv
Pathetic that game was allowed to go ahead. Also don't think it was an actual storm and trains being cancelled.

Don’t hold much hope il be there tonight
You might be there, just no game going ahead if it's decided when the ref arrives

They do, but they were AWOL on Saturday. Don't hold out much hope they'll be there tonight!

Hope your "relationship" with Burnley is more successful than the one they had with us , ours ammounted to a friendly v their under 23s at Somerset and a kit that was kinda Burnely-esque. Big talk of it going to be fruitful before it was quietly shelved about a year later

An update from either club would be helpful
We've updated you on the fact the Hub is open and selling soup and hot dogs. What more do you want? In all seriousness though it's a farce

Arbroath having injuries and players that are working today makes not one bit of difference when the weather is like this. Makes the game a lottery. Pretty sure in that game last season one of the Arbroath goals seemed to get sucked in from a corner or a throw in

It might of Arbroath haven’t arrived. It certainly used to be the case that if there was a concern raised, a local ref would go early and make the call on behalf of the match official.
I guess if Ayr had an injury crisis, they could phone up Arbroath and say, weather is stinking, can we just postpone if it wasn’t down to a referee.
Maybe there is one scheduled at 12 or 1 to do an inspection before Arbroath are due to leave. You'd hope so. I don't like to see any team/fans make a wasted journey. Plus selfishly I'd rather stay cosy in the house watching a TV game than be at Somerset tonight freezing my baws off through "loyalty" (stupidity)

A local ref could drive to Somerset right now and know it would be off without getting out his car.
Wouldn't even need a ref! Anyone with a brain cell I mean the met office and ScotRail issued warnings on Sunday/yesterday about tonight being stinking weather

Think you're maybe reading a bit too much into advertising for the club bar....
Think the national travel warnings and weather forecast maybe more relevant !!
We played Arbroath last season in farcical conditions. Cancelled a Fri night game v ICT literally as the turnstiles were opening. Seems storm and travel warnings are just blocked out when it comes to getting games on

Yeah, it’s crazy that it’s not been called off yet. The forecast has been awful for a couple of days and shows no sign of changing.
Im all for giving games a chance if the forecast is rapidly changing or if the wind/rain etc is borderline but if it’s anything like the forecast then it can’t be played.
It doesn’t need a ref to make the decision, just someone with access to a tv, computer or smart phone….. oh, and a brain.
I know. Storm warnings and trains being off after 7, and this game still being on we've just posted about the Hub being open and what food is on offer. Looks like a late call off if it's called off at all. Sorry to your team and fans for a potentially wasted journey

Yeah. Also, don’t want to get into the rights and wrongs of us choosing to not be full-time but Arbroath are a part-time team which means most of the players will have to take time off work for this. And any fans that are planning to travel down.
It will be a shambles if it goes ahead, and a shambles if it's a late call off.

I have a fear that it will go ahead, or it will be a late call off when the ref gets here. Pretty poor show when Arbroath will have to leave about 3pm that we're leaving it so long to update fans

The game will be on and you'll like it *

Which prestigious English football giant did Ayr United have an exclusive partnership with and for how long?
correct!
Still baffles me that whole situation. Everyone picking about 2 or 3 of their players we wanted on loan
