Just in from work and realised the Motherwell games on the TV. Her :- awch football.. You're gonna want to watch this aren't you?

Me:- aye well I didn't realise it was on, anything you want to watch?

    Her :- anything but football.

Me:- OK stick whatever you want on, i can watch it in the spare room.

    Her:- (huffy) no its fine.

Me :- I can see how the game goes then turn over to your programme at 9.

Her:- no, I want to watch it myself coz you'll be sitting there thinking its shit and it'll annoy me. I'm away upstairs to the shitty wee TV in the cold room.

Me :- ill watch this upstairs I don't mind.

Her :- no. I'm away upstairs now before I get really annoyed.

    FFS.!!!

I do this but in role reversal when she puts the Hollyoaks on, I can be as much of a right cow as the wife can.

    Right, where do I start...

    • She leaves the rubbish beside the bin and not in the bin, I don't even see the logic.
    • I offer to put the ironing away. She'll say 'no I'll do it before bed', then when going to bed 'I'm too tired to put that ironing away, I'll do it tomorrow'. The same conversation happens the next day until I do it without letting her know.
    • She's bought one of them wee dishes where you put the tea bag on, like some sort of holding bay before it goes in the bin. I don't drink tea, I had to dispose of a tower of 8 of them the other night. Pointless wee dish.

Except last season when Vincent was a top 6 player. Like the rest of the team he's been struggling for form. Don't think he's been any worse than the rest of the players. In saying that my preferred central midfield pairing would be Thomson and Beadling.

I prefer the team without Vincent also. I thought Thomson had a relatively good game on Saturday, probably behind Higginbotham in the who got "pass marks" list.

Danny Denholm has started his own podcast to go hand in hand with his blogs and the first episode was excellent.

Him ripping the pish out of Andy Munro for being thick was a great laugh and all the guy's on it were very likeable and down to earth.

It's called Lower League Ramblings if anyone wants to listen.

I'll give this a wee go. He was very good as a guest on another podcast I listened to where he previewed the current season.

Theres a difference between being unpopular (as a shop steward I deal with management more than most and am able to seperate emotion from the fact that often they are simply doing their job) and being an arsehole to those you can get away with it. At my work theres folk who will steer clear of being a cock to me because as far as my specific part of the ship goes, very few folk can claim to know more than or be better at it than me. However, when I see them behaving like arseholes to others, then I find them to be arseholes. I would say you can get a much less complete and much less narrow picture of a person by only taking heed of your own experiences of a person because you wont know where you fit on their agenda.

To put it in perspective, Ian Durrants antics in the last week do no harm to me. But they indicate to me that he is an arsehole. I dont need to take him as I find him if he has already revealed himself.

I think you are both right. "Taking people as you find them" to me means how you find them treating either yourself or others. Not specifically how you find them to you.

    ----------

In a scenario where Billy tells the new guy, John, that Steve is an arsehole, then Billy is a moron.

If John then takes the opinion that Steve is an arsehole solely on Billy's remark, then John is also a moron.

We're chasing a game and we go one up front? Great. We also leave Muirhead on the bench?! Great. He must be more match fit than Keena at this stage, no?

Keena has been playing for Hearts' reserve side in the last couple of weeks, so it's probably a bit of a muchness.

I'm firmly in the 'getting behind AJ' camp and do not want to see him sacked. The substitutions did seem odd though. I wouldn't have changed anything, QotS seemed happy to have 10 behind the ball and we were still creating chances. Striked me as desperation.

Faissal should score from a couple of yards out and their keeper makes a really good save from Ashcroft when it looks a certain goal, if they go in the game is probably seen out comfortably and we are still plotting our way back into a title chase buzzing at our defence keeping the best player in the league down to a handful of touches.

Tough league when teams come to East End Park and are happy to set up camp in their own half.

My wife miscarried this week, we found out yesterday at the 12-week scan. She had heard the heartbeat on Monday as well.

We've had a lot of miscarriages before (had one last year at 5 weeks) but none this late.

We hadn't planned on having another kid but had become quite attached to the idea, so a sad time.

    Horrific.

My wife and I have been through this a few times at varying stages of pregnancies also. It doesn't get any easier. Stick in.

Bob Mortimer’s song about Jordan Henderson on the last Athletico Mince podcast is genuinely one of the funniest things i’ve heard in years. The recent Steve McLaren QPR one was also very, very decent.

I thought  giving Tony Fernandes an American gangster voice was brilliant.

My dad did jury service a few years ago and I asked him afterwards how it went. "Oh I said he was guilty the first day of the trial". When I asked him what evidence convinced him he replied "Evidence? dinnae need any o that. c**t wouldnae be in court if he didnae dae it"

Kinda lost faith in the jury system after that.

I've never been called up for jury duty. My mate has though and he said it was horrific and the pressure he felt was incredible. Some guy was up for sexual assault and he always felt really aware that basically this guy's life was in their hands. The lawyers were very clever with their wording and trying to sway you one way or another so the concentration levels were exhausting.

Scary prospect if you've a social conscience.

Can't mind the name of the Australian comic, but there are a few clips on YouTube of a boy who done short comedy skits of Chopper. I'd seen these a while before the movie and couldn't really take the character seriously as a result!

Must watch "Chopper" again Cracking film with a brilliant performance by Eric Bana considering it was his first ever acting role

It is a brilliant film that one, I've got the DVD lying around somewhere I'll need to look it out and watch it again. I did not realise it was Eric Bana's first acting role, if you have a look at clips of the real Chopper Reed you can see how bang on Eric Bana got him.

  11. The Bay Leaf in Pumpherston beside me has won multiple curry awards in the last couple of years and I've never had anything better.

Me and a few guys from my office occasionally go to Ignite on Morrison Street in Edinburgh for their lunchtime menu. £8.50 for a starter, choice of curry with rice or a naan. Very decent. A couple of the guys that come along are Indian and really like it so that must be a good indication.

Not sure if this actually happened, but there was a German brought up on a minor charge at Aberdeen Sheriffs Court, and the Sheriff asked if anyone in the courtroom could translate and someone volunteered. "Ask him his name please." "Vot eess yoor naym?" As I remember it he got done for contempt.

I think that's an Only Fools and Horses scene when Uncle Albert tries to speak to a lost pregnant German woman.

I was being a wee bit tongue in cheek while pointing out there is one tie between a Scottish team and a foreign club. I doubt the good people of Sligo would be getting excited about a trip to Motherwell never mind the Under 20's.
I don't think the Colt sides add anything to the competition. If anything it's a bit demeaning to ask a club from another country to travel to Scotland to play a club's Colts team.

It's demeaning to ask any club, Scottish or otherwise to play a competitive fixture against another club's Colt side.

Sutton Utd are fair getting hit in the pocket with these draws.

I only hope we progress as it's a good platform to bring in players on the outskirts of the first team and those coming back from injury, other than that I think it's a nonsense competition.
