O'Sullivan made his 14th maximum before getting papped out by someone I've never heard of who turns out has knocked him out already this season - Elliot Slessor. I presume Ronnie's comments about not turning up at the Crucible has been shown to be the same garbage as god knows how many times before considering nothing has been reported.

He's had a few strange years since the 2014 final against Selby. Every year he's talked about not going to the crucible then been beaten first time one of the top players has put pressure on him. He's going to be, rightly, a huge favourite this year.

I going to be putting some money on Ding this year; used to look struggle in the crucible but QF, runner up and  semi finalist last year I think it's coming.

  2. Ryan Day has won 2 ranking events this year and reached the last 8 on 5 occasions but will still need to go to through World Championship qualification after not qualifying for the China Open and his broderline top 16 rivals all picking up winnings out there.

  3. Spaghetti and meatballs tonight.

Basic. Meatballs from down the Lidl, brown them with diced mushroom and onion then add passata with some paprika and chilli powder or similar.

The kids hate it, so I get two extra portions and an excuse to send them to bed early for not eating their tea. Perfect.

    Red peanut curry tonight.

In a mixing bowl, coconut milk, red curry paste and peanut butter. Combine into sauce.

fry off red chili mixed with garlic and ginger, add chicken and some chicken stock. Season with salt and pepper.

Add sauce mixture. Add one sliced red pepper. Season with fish sauce and palm sugar. Simmer for 10/15 minutes.

serve with Jasmine rice. Garnished with some coriander and sliced green chili.

    marvellous.

I am going to try doing this.

Just to make sure though, when you say fish sauce, it's this type of thing?

  5. It's getting a little bit like 'Only An Excuse' for me. I watch it out of obligation and the odd occasion they hit a golden moment but deep down I know it's done and should be finished.

I enjoy going back to watching to earlier ones. "Hatch" is probably my favourite.

I visited Dusseldorf at xmas two years ago. One of the best places I have ever visited, I plan on returning.

I never went to a match, though did watch a FC Koln match in a pub while over there and the locals were very animated during the game. I thought that a bit strange, I know Cologne is fairly close to Dusseldorf, but so is Dortmund, Monchengladback and Leverkusen.

  7. I have always looked younger than my age, I am now in my 32nd year.

I have very slight grey hairs on the sides of my hair not noticeable unless you inspect it, I don't worry about that at all. If I'm brutally honest though I am struggling with the weight gain, which is seeming easier to happen, not that I'm fat or anything. I've always been normal proportioned, not to slim, not overweight. I do feel self-conscious at the tightening of the medium tshirts and 32 inch waisted jeans.

  8. If he can prove he's better that what is there currently; then I'd have no issues with him representing Scotland having previously turned down the opportunity of a call up.

I don't know how he has done at Dundee so far. On previous, his career in England suggests he should at least be monitored for the international team.

Youngest granddaughter baptised yesterday. It was the same minister that did her elder sister, 8 years ago, he must be well into his 80s, certainly made me wonder where the time has gone. That's the first time I've been in that church since then.

Back to step daughters for food and a chat, then home (via Tesco, for some unknown reason.)

We had a strange occurrence with our two's baptisms. The same priest baptised my two sons. He was new to the parish and baptising my eldest was his first action at the church, then he was heading back out to take up some position in Rome when it came to baptising my youngest which turned out to be his last action at the church.

My eldest is 5 this week. Everyone always said your kids will grow up fast, but I am genuinely shocked how true that is.

  10. We were watching the new series of Benidorm last week, it's easy watching and fairly enjoyable.

Tony Hadley had a cameo as a wedding singer and repeatedly sang Spandau Ballet classics. Characters were referring to him by name and everything. I'd even spoke about how he was a good sport for his wee role. I think it was the third Spandau Ballet song in and he's singing Gold from a boat when she finally asks "Is the joke that this singer can only do Spandau Ballet songs or something?"

  11. Dunfermline related omissions I can see is Olympiakos in the Cup Winners Cup 68/69.

Also a victories over Valencia and Athletic Bilbao, where Dunfermline won at East End Park but ultimately lost both ties on a third match after tying over the original two legs.

The Valencia result must have a shout at being one of the most remarkable of a Scottish side in Europe. Trailing 4-0 after the match in Valencia, Dunfermline managed to skud Valencia 6-2. Overturning as much as a 4 goal deficit from the first leg was a record that Dunfermline held for over 50 years until last season when Barcelona beat PSG 6-1 at the Camp Nou after losing 4-0 in Paris.

The 'Snooker Stars' game you can download on your phone is fucking quality btw.

Only game I play on the phone.

  13. If O'Sullivan had the attitude he has now 25 years ago, he'd be way way out in front of Hendry's ranking title haul. Seems probable he'll nip in front of him being 4 titles behind and about 40 ranking events a season.

Hopefully this week is the start of Selby ramping up his form back up after a quiet few months.

    The Welsh starting today.

Just had to beat a hasty retreat from the marine birds at Linlithgow loch who I had intended to feed with Mrs B and the baby B's. Seemingly been a long winter for them since they went fucking ballistic at the sight of a stale tiger roll and adopted an offensive formation. Mrs B actually left the pram and I had to go back into the frenzy to retrieve.

    Mental b*****ds.

I can back this up. Savages.

My 4 year old got bit by swan at Linlithgow Loch last summer. He was dithering with the bread and swan was clearly impatient and irritated by my son.

My wife had the phone out and filming him feeding them at the time, it's' a good clip. We tried to make £250 out of it but 'You've Been Framed' knocked it back as it was filmed in portrait mode.

Not sure that's true. Would, for example, a load of Hibbees flock to Hearts if Hibernian were disbanded?

You missed my point. I was far from suggesting the disbanding of current teams, that's totally against my views.

I was suggesting that if Scottish football had originally developed with one Edinburgh team, one Dundee team, maybe a couple of Glasgow teams, one Fife team....etc. Hypothetical nonsense admittedly.
