  1. That looks 100 times better. Make the collar plain navy and the socks the same shade as the top and you have a winner.
  2. The way to avoid any Hunnery would be to release the away strip from that era - same design, but white with navy trim.
  3. The new strip could have been good, but has turned out absolutely ghastly. The collar looks like it belongs to two strips, neither of which are this one. An understated navy collar along with white shorts and socks and it might have looked quite nice, but like a lot of Joma kits, it's far too busy and garish.
  4. The ones that said "Don't follow me, follow Raith Rovers"?
  5. Pretty much my take as well. The Puma half and half top was classy, with subtle detailing, whereas the Joma one looked like the kind of football top you find in shops located under self catering appartments in Benidorm beside the buckets and spades. A half and half top should be the same on the back (like our Puma one). The self coloured back on our Joma one further spoiled it. Even the collar looked like it belonged to two different tops.
  6. These strips are cracking, especially the home one. So many retro kits end up looking like pale imitations of the original, but that one is nailed on. I thought this season's Port Vale top would have been a belter of a Dumbarton top, but the Macron one is even better.
  7. Shamelessly nicked from the Pictorial History section of Pie and Bovril. 100 years ago today since we set sail for the Canaries on the infamous Highland Loch.
  8. Pick him for your games at Dens Park. It'll put the shiters up Dundee.
  9. The post on Twitter about recruiting kiosk staff tends to suggest the club catering is going to be in-house rather than renting the kiosks out.
  10. On the face of it, that seems fair comment, although I'm not sure the Torbain catchment area would be regarded as more affluent than Loughborough Road or Lady Nairn Avenue. However, maybe the bigger issue is whether every school is willing to accommodate the Rovers in this. Some head teachers, and I'm not including Sinclairtown in this as I don't know in their case, seem to be anti-football and anti-competitive sports, so this is likely to provide an obstacle to the club.
  11. I yearn for a return to the days when we played European ties on Tuesday nights then sent out a second string side to draw 2-2 with Manchester City in a friendly 48 hours later.
  12. I know it's splitting hairs, but the Kelty game isn't technically a friendly, but a Fife Cup tie.
  13. The marquee autographs on the Chelsea programme would be those of their manager and, even more so, his assistant at the time.
  14. I've heard the Keith Watson rumour from a few different sources. Again, he's possibly still on holiday after having played in the playoff final. 33 and played most of his career at a decent level - hopefully he does the same sort of job Grant Murray did when we signed him.
  15. I'm not sure about the Alex Stuart situation, but I'm trying to work out who Ayr would have been playing on the day Hugh Sproat was wearing a red jersey. He always wore green against the currant buns and blue against the jungle Jims.
  16. That's very reasonable pricing. Goes some way to make up for charging 5th and 6th year school kids £18 for the cup tie last January.
  17. Unfortunately, it's not unknown for kick off times to be changed at the very last minute to accommodate TV companies. Remember the McKinnon season when our game against Falkirk was changed at about ten days notice, on the say so of BBC Alibaba, and punters arrived at Stark's Park suited and booted as they were heading straight to the Player of the Year Dance that night, the start time of which had to be delayed.
