Connolly aside, the goals return from the rest of team, outwith the forward line, has been pretty poor this season as well.
If you look at Partick last Friday, they're getting goals from all over the park and they're one of the few teams in the league with a 'proper centre forward'.

Any idea of the year on this one? It's one I've never seen. Early 70's, based on the strip and who's in it, obvs.
EDIT - Probably 1972, based on the trophy on show.
Can't really be more specific than early 70s.
Absolutely love that strip.

I’m coming to the game tomorrow to tick off New Bayview on my list. What’s the best way to get to the ground from Edinburgh, The St Andrews bus? Is there a decent bar near the ground?
Looking forward to it.
Thanks
There's a decent bar in the ground.

And just when we thought the week couldn't get any worse, it was announced at the AGM last night that Silver Bear have been back in touch looking to rekindle their interest.
Apparently they've looked elsewhere since threatening to raise legal action, but haven't found anything suitable to invest in.

We've played with a back three on several occasions this season. Usually when we're chasing a game, but we never stick with it for long before it becomes a back two with inevitable consequences.

anyone know who’s signed up for next season or we waiting in hope we cinch a play off place.
Glad east fife will be playing in stripes again for next season.
Your new strip looks quite decent (surely with white shorts), but £30 to have your name on it? Fine if your surname is Venegoor of Hesselink, but you'd feel a bit ripped off if it's Lee.

To provide some mitigation for John McGlynn, it's not like James Keatings left us and went to a rival who let him train once a week, which then meant he scored 35 goals.
Keatings can't have been far off 35 career goals against us.
At least signing him put a stop to that.

I'll make all the salient points briefly and that way we can all have a wee rest from things before the game starts on Saturday.
- Benedictus injured himself trying to foul an Arbroath player.
- Dirty Dick will instruct his players to crock Vaughan.
- Hammy won the league at Stark's Park.
- Lewis Vaughan has chocolate knees.
- Arbroath have the best centre back pairing in the league.
Enjoy the rest of the week.

The whole Keatings signing was bonkers.
Even if you sign someone on a PCA, surely they're signed subject to passing a medical.
The mind boggles as to what sort of fitness tests he underwent prior to his contract being finalised.

As Lee Bullen said about us earlier in the season, we're as good as anyone from box to box, but utterly shite (not his exact words) in both boxes.

Is Scott Brown back yet? Raith will stroll this if so. Best player in the league by miles.
Scott Brown will be at the back tonight.

We'll happily take a 1-0 win with a 97th minute penalty rebound off your keeper's arse.
A 97th minute penalty for Dundee with the score at 0-0 would create a bit of a dilemma for Rovers.
Do we stick with Jamie MacDonald who's saved the last two penalties he's faced, or do we go we bring Robbie Thomson off the bench for a wee bit of verbal shitstirring?

It's 86-87, Dave Roseburgh is in the picture.
It's not 1987-88 as Cindy Jackson was signed by Newcastle in 1986 and Nipper Lawrence was signed by Dundee in 1987.
Of course any Livingston fan could have told you all this (my arse)
That makes sense as Meadowbank's 87/88 team photo would have the Second Division trophy on display having been won the previous season.

I seem to recall a forward with the surname Sugden being in the Cowden team at this time. Perhaps he was in the pavilion having a slash when this photo was taken
Or maybe he was taking the photo

Was there a gale blowing in from the west ?
There was a gale from the west around 1980 as it blew down the cowshed behind the Chapel Street (Beath High School) End of Central Park.
