Does anyone still by the FFP. Just wondering if there is any news on signings coming in before the window closes.

I'm not sure the FFP even send reporters to games anymore.

Any quotes are directly from Raith TV interviews and the match reports give the impression of having been compiled from watching the highlights.

Just read Murrays interview int he Courier.  Refs reasoning for the goal being disallowed was the defender had to stretch to get to it.....hopefully these refs don't get put in charge of another Scottish cup tie for a while.

If the referee had stuck to his guns in disallowing the goal for that reason, I'd have disagreed, but accepted it was a difference of opinion. However, the referee totally pissed on his chips by awarding the goal then disallowing it a second time. If he believed the Linlithgow player was stretching, I'd love to hear his explanation for awarding the goal.

In addition to the farce in the second half, Gullan (I think) was flagged offside in the first half when running clean through one on one and he was at least a yard onside. Not a fine night for the officials.

It was Connolly, but you're spot on - he was well onside as I was standing right in line with it.

Some really awful refereeing in there. First time I’ve ever seen the officials disallow, then allow, then disallow a goal before. Gullan so frustrating first half. Spent the whole of it offside and had the cheek to moan about not getting the pass early enough. Took his goals really well to be fair, just too big and strong and quick for the centre halves. You can tell that Linlithgow are a side that win most weeks because a great number of their thicko fans really don’t take getting beat very well. Happy to get past them and hopefully get a 5000+ crowd for Motherwell.

I honestly have to say the Linlithgow fans around me were as sound as the proverbial pounds. I've no idea why there were several van loads of polis for a game which didn't even have segregation.

The disallowed goal was absolutely farcical. No idea why the linesman saw fit to raise his flag, but for the referee to award the goal after a conflab with the linesman, then disallow it seconds later, beggars belief.

Was it not a rule before if the first game is cancelled, then it is rescheduled for the following Saturday?  I'm sure that happened with us for the Lochee tie, which was postponed about 8 times then eventually played on a Monday afternoon at 1pm.

I think it depends on the floodlight situation.

    Linlithgow's ground is fine.

Funny how yon McCartney is / was involved in this, from the first minute she set foot inside Starks things started going wrong

You'd think we'd learn our lesson as far as CEOs are concerned, dating back to the Alan Kelly era.

To have one utter disaster could be considered unfortunate, to have two is bordering on careless, but to have had four is beyond words.

You'd think they'd rather invest their billions in the club they're going to take over rather than piss it away on legal action against us.

I think we've been very quiet on the re-signing front because we lost buckets the last time we were in League 1 and won't want to go deeper into debt if we do end up there.

So, until we know where we stand league wise you can't blame the board for not offering contracts just now. Saturday was a disaster in that respect with Hamilton winning and Arbroath, Cove and ourselves all drawing.

I'm not sure Saturday was a disaster.

It would have been if Arbroath had won and we had lost.

Am I the only Rovers fan who was chuffed at Hamilton beating Morton?

  9. I haven't seen the highlights yet, so I'm not going to comment on whether Frederikson should or shouldn't have shot.

What if his shot had crashed off the bar and over giving Cove a goal kick? Would it have been the wrong decision then?

It's not as if he played a hospital pass that led directly to a goal. We had a chance to defend the goal kick and had eleven men back in the box to defend a corner.

That, allied with the goals conceded from set pieces against Arbroath and Morton recently, is the reason we're sitting seventh instead of making a fist of pushing for playoff place.

That’s not right though, is it? There’s a Gordon Smith in the Hall of Fame, but it’s the one who won the league with three different teams, none of whom were Celtic or Rangers

    Thankfully that makes more sense.

It was Dellios who said in the paper that it was the Gordon Smith involved with his syndicate that was in the Hall of Fame.

Also glad to see it was Gordon Smith [Scottish football Hall of Famer] not Gordon Smith [the guy who came off the bench for us in the Ramsdens Cup Final] who was involved.

Reading that Gordon Smith is in the SFA Hall of Fame made me almost choke on my Ricicles yesterday morning. The fact Gordon Smith Is in the SFA Hall of Fame shows up Scottish football as the old firm driven rabble that it is.

A lot of the club's debt is owed to John Sim and other Directors, or potentially even former directors.

He did mention we have approx £35k from a Covid bounceback loan, which we took as an intended buffer that we wouldn't spend. Yep, we spent it.

The fact that the debt is primarily due to Sim and possibly other directors means there's very little chance of the club going into administration.

These guys are hardly likely to pull the plug and receive a few pence in the pound in return.

How long is that since we lost in the challenge Cup? 3 years at least. Mon the townies when their games rearanged.

The last time we lost in the challenge cup Kevin Cuthbert was in temporary charge!

The last time we lost at home - Cowdenbeath in 2010. Scott McBride and Willie Dyer made their competitive debuts
