Haha I was being facetious, I obviously wouldn’t prefer that! Definitely much more club than country, though, and very down on Scotland after Friday night. My expectations from Scotland are very, very low for the rest of this tournament.

I thought London had turned you full Tory for a minute.

Sons over Scotland all day. I’d rather see Sons win a dead rubber end of season game than Scotland win the Euros.

I’m fully club over country but a deid rubber club glorified friendly win over winning the euros or even winning a meaningful game at the Euros/getting out the group!? Come on man!

Calvin Ramsay was out injured for a while then had loan spells at a good level with Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers during which he barely kicked a ball either. The notion he's 'kicking his heels' in Liverpool's youth set up is nonsense. Doak's been making fine progress through the levels at Liverpool and would have undoubtedly had significant first team exposure in the last 6 months if he'd not blown his knee up and been injured for the last 6 months. Another dreadful example.

It's early yet for the likes of Wilson and apparently Smith (confess I've never heard of him) to be condemned as lost in the youth set up. If boys are good enough, and luck y enough to remain relatively injury free they'll make it down South too.

Ramsay has also already joined Wigan in League 1 for the upcoming season so he certainly wont be rotting in the Liverpool reserves this year either.

I heard from someone who attended that the Fanzone wasn't very well managed and ended up a bit of a nightmare. Not enough seating and then huge queues at the bar (which is often the case at matches too).

I hope they haven't just tried to be greedy and oversold to make some extra money, but it certainly sounds like that may have been the case.

The fanzone thing was organised by a couple of volunteers who I know put in a huge amount of work to get it on, despite numerous hurdles including the police dictating what could and couldn’t happen in the car park regarding food vendors etc. Unfortunately with a bar that small there will always be big queues when it’s busy in there as you can realisticly only serve two or three people at a time/have two or three bar staff working at a time before they start running into each other.

Hopefully it pulled in a decent amount of cash for the club, it’s good to see them trying something a bit different. I wasn’t there myself so I can’t really comment on how it all went.

Nah, Christie is a talented footballer in the grand scheme of things.

That game doesn't change if Gilmour plays, not to the extent of five goals.

We're looking for a villain here, and the Gilmour for McGregor/Christie one isn't it.

I never said Christie isn’t a talented footballer nor am I remotely blaming him for the result. I am having a pop at Clarke for exluding the one player in our team who would’ve given us a chance at holding onto possession for more than 3 seconds. That can most certainly impact the goals against column.

For me he starts over Ryan Christie, not because Christie is bad, because it makes us better against this particular opponent. It wasn’t the only poor decision from Clarke FWIW but for me it was the glaringly fucking obvious one.

Mcgregor isnt good enough at this level, also why wasn't max Johnston even looked at given he's played something like 20 games for sturm graz this season

Max Johnston has started a grand total of 2 games for Sturm Graz in the league this season. Why on earth would he be any where near this Scotland squad!?

Also twice that Clarke has actually got us to the euros.

If we'd been pumped like that people would point to Christes work rate and say it was criminal we didn't start him for the press.

The lineup was fine, the lack of protest also says this. We did though play utter shit.

That squad is pish, you're rearranging jobbers for the most part.

Away ye go. I’d rather we started guys that can get a foot on the ball rather than start guys like Christie because they run around a lot. The squad is far from pish, we might not be a match for the top tier teams but we are capable of not being whipping boys and keeping the scoreline respectable.  The right back situation is hugely unfortunate and Ralston was badly exposed tonight but I still think Gilmour was an absolute stick on to start that game over Christie.

Can people stop pretending the starting 11 wasn't the right starting 11 because of purely how the performance ended up?

The performance in general was shit and that's why what happened did. Gilmour would of got on the ball and had f**k all to do with it, he doesn't have the engine or defensive ability/physicality to play in a 2 man midfield against that German team.

I don’t think Gilmour’s inclusion would’ve made a huge difference in the end given the red card but surely to f**k you start him this one. He’s the one guy in that midfield that can slow the game down and keep possession when they are getting on top of us. Starting Christie over him was criminal IMHO.

Double bogey for Bob on 13 after missing the fairway with an iron off thd tee. Now struggling to make the weekend.

Is that the PGA app? Mine is taking an absolute age to update, he made double over 10 mins ago and mine is still showing him as +3 thru 12.

Hopefully he will have learned a lot from that first round and use that knowledge to his advantage over the weekend (yes, I know, I know......😬)

    Those greens are ridiculous btw.

3 Yanks playing Pinehurst No2....they aren't too annoying. And they can play a bit.

Bryan Bros content is great and they always get decent guests with Wesley’s connections. I enjoy a lot of Grant Horvat’s stuff as well.

  11. Solid stuff from Bob. That round could’ve got away from him a but when he slipped to +2 but he’s done excellent to scrape out those two birdies.

His scrambling was ridiculous at times on that front 9.

Some really ignorant comments in the last few posts, but this one takes the biscuit.  The report states an average attendance of 1064 towards the end of the season.  The average at the end of the season was 1091!  🤪I

Average over how many games? You’re always going to be drawing bigger crowds for important games towards the end of the season such as playoff 6 pointers and the playoff games themselves. That’s not something you’d consider a success or something to brag about when those games are 6 pointers to avoid relegation and games in the relegation playoffs.

  13. 18 quid seems fairly reasonable to me these days. The running costs of a club at our level are eye watering. The floodlight bill throughout the winter compared to 2 or 3 seasons ago must be astronomical.

We are charging similar this season - £18 admission, £230 early bird and £270 after the early bird offer finishes with your usual discounts for students and OAPs.

  14. I don’t dislike Scheffler and fully appreciate his greatness but I get bored of one player just dominating everything like he is. I felt the same when Tiger was turning up and winning nearly everything when I was a youngster. Hopefully someone can at least run him close tomorrow but at this stage it is not looking likely, even after a triple bogey but a mere 5 holes ago he is 4 in front. The man is an absolute machine right now!

  15. Lynas is an ok backup option at right back and wont be commanding a big wage but I think I’d rather have a proper centre back option in reserve. Our season seriously unravelled when we lost Durnan to injury last season and with his injury record that may well happen again. Maybe we’ll bring another defender in but who knows. The weird signing for me has been Cammy Clarke, we arleady had two guys who are excellent at left back and I’m not sure we needed any more cover there.

The signings so far have been good but I don’t want us to make the same mistakes as last season by leaving ourselves without proper cover in a key position.

Having watched both mcguffie & McLean play for my team over the last five or so seasons... McLean was much more effective overall...I would have kept him before mcguffie every single time

Thanks for your expert opinion Mr Hugh Hillshaveyes
