How exactly do you know that, and who led you to believe it ?

You then go on to claim whataboutery and immediately compare the Methil incident with the Hamilton one, when the two are not comparable.

Because a very good source told me the player didn’t accept the apology. No one is obliged to believe that, but I will.

I’m not comparing the incidents, I’m comparing the Trusts reaction to both incidents. The Trust decided to release a public statement condeming personal abuse agaist Stevie Farrell (which I absolutely condemn) but when it comes to a supporter receiving a nationwide stadium ban for abusing a player the Trust double down and back him up. That’s not whataboutery my friend, that is cold hard facts.

I am absolutely convinced if it wasn’t a supporter who’s family holds such an influence then they wouldn’t be afforded these excuses for their behaviour.

I see the Trust will take no further action against the board member who is currently on a year's ban from the stadium. I understand that it's a difficult situation for the Trust as the individual involved is important to the organisation but I do feel it's not a great look. A couple of weeks prior to this incident the Trust put out a statement reminding fans that they have a zero tolerance approach to abuse from supporters, to go from that to keeping a board member in place who is serving an actual stadium ban for abusing a player weeks later looks hypocritical.

I do not wish to turn this into a big issue or a witch hunt, I know the person in question and I fully accept he regrets what he has done and that he has apologised and accepted his punishment accordingly. Hopefully that's a line drawn and everyone can move on.

I’m also led to believe the player who was on the receiving end refused the apology.

I think the Trust have made an error of judgement here tbqhwy and I’m rather shocked at a lot of the whataboutery stemming from this incident. I understand that volunteer board members aren’t easy to come by, but quite how the Trust can retain someone who is serving a year long, nationwide stadium ban is absolutely beyond me. Would all supporters be afforded this sort of leeway? I’m not convinced they would, especially after the Trusts statement following the Clyde game.

  3. The boolin club is the far superior option over any of the boozers in the town IMO. They show any football that is on and will no doubt have The Masters on one of the TVs as well. The Waverley is a decent enough pub but it’s a bit of a walk as it’s situated nearer to Levengrove Park.

A few pints in the bowling club followed by a pint and a Richard Gough just before kick off in the stadium bar would be my recommendation.

I take it Callaway binned Rahmbo when he took the Liv cash as in his presser he is wearing the stupid Liv team gear?

The chat when he left for LIV was that he was staying with Callaway but I’ve nae idea if that included a clothing deal.

Tee times being released today. I hope Tiger is playing with someone different for a change.

  5. Old Ray has been waffling shite in his interviews for as long as I can remember. I don’t know if its purely reserved for when one of his teams loses to Dumbarton FC but I don’t think I’ve ever heard him admit that the better team won.

An absolute fool of a man.

  6. That’s a good, solid win. I’ve no idea what our record is up there but historically it’s a venue I’ve always viewed as a ‘tough place to go’.

Things seem to be clicking for us at the minute. We’re playing well and guys who have been contributing very little are starting look like regular starters in a team pushing for promotion. I have absolutely no doubt that the return of Mark Durnan has made a huge difference, a great captain and a really solid operator at this level. His return seems to have galvanised this squad and we can only wonder what might have been had him and Brett Long not missed the majority of the season. How did young Lennon get on at left back yesterday? It’s the one position that worries me a bit given we don’t actually have a natural left back in the squad.

Consistency is key so we need to keep this going heading into the playoffs. With Uncle Faz at the helm I’m never fully convinced we wont go out and get pumped next weekend but maybe that’s just the pessimist in me.

  7. I was browsing Youtube and I saw the LIV Miami live stream pop up so I thought I’d give it a bash. The relentless distorted/muffled sound of music constantly playing in the background is unbearable. It would be much more watchable without that. I vaguely remember a European Tour event last year that had a DJ at the tee of one of the holes and I thought that was brutal as well.

Get music at professional golf tournaments firmly in the bin.

If the fans are to know what is and what isn’t acceptable it would be useful to actually know what the ban is for. Otherwise it’s just keeping everyone in the dark and we are none the wiser

I’d imagine we can comfortably file making comments about sending bullets to the Lennons under the unacceptable category.

Since Augusta has been mentioned if anybody hasn't I would download the rather excellent masters app as we are only a week away from the crowd being called patrons etc etc

I’ll second this. The Masters app is top notch and pisses all over the PGA Tour one in terms of tracking and video content.

The PGA Tour one is absolutely hopeless compared to the DP World Tour.

  10. Scotland’s Hannah Darling currently holds a 1 shot lead after day 1 of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.

Sky Sports are showing some live coverage for a couple of hours this evening.

I really do not think being a manager in the lower leagues of Scottish Football requires too much for a manager to be successful, don’t think it’s Pep level of tactics but being a likeable c**t that players want to play for goes a very long way.

I’d have to disagree with this. We have a manager that most players like playing for. I personally knew one of our main players when we were in the Championship and he told me Stevie Farrell’s training sessions were the best he’s ever experienced. Farrell actually signs very decent players for our level because the players like him and he can sell the club but he’s tactically inept and we are absolutely pish under his management.

I don’t think you need to be Pep but our most successful manager in my lifetime was the best tactician. He was always considered a bit of an arsehole, didn’t have a great connection with the support (he famously refused to wave at fans when one of the notorious happy clapper losers asked him to at a meet the manager session) and he let his assistant manager be the good cop.

Being able to set up a team, change a game with a plan B and signing a balanced squad is far more important than being a good guy that the players love IMO.

Half of it probably paid off all the shite we signed in the summer last year

That’s actually a fair point. Not a chance these guys who have left to drop down the leagues would’ve just ripped up their contracts for nothing. I’s be surprised if the figure being quoted is accurate but with the amount of comings and goings, the higher standard of player being signed vs those who left and that January can mean players maybe come at a bit of more of a premium than in the summer then there is nae denying a fair chunk of investment has been made in the playing squad. That’s before you take into consideration the payoff for the previous management team and the fact that McCall wasn’t dropping down to this level for pennies.
