  1. I was browsing Youtube and I saw the LIV Miami live stream pop up so I thought I’d give it a bash. The relentless distorted/muffled sound of music constantly playing in the background is unbearable. It would be much more watchable without that. I vaguely remember a European Tour event last year that had a DJ at the tee of one of the holes and I thought that was brutal as well. Get music at professional golf tournaments firmly in the bin.
  2. I think we can safely assume the defence didn’t stand up after the clubs investigations and interviews, hence the ban.
  3. I’d imagine we can comfortably file making comments about sending bullets to the Lennons under the unacceptable category.
  4. https://dumbartonfootballclub.com/update-of-incident-at-east-fife-vs-dumbarton-march-9th-2024/ This surely makes their position on the Trust board and as bar manager untenable?
  5. I’ll second this. The Masters app is top notch and pisses all over the PGA Tour one in terms of tracking and video content. The PGA Tour one is absolutely hopeless compared to the DP World Tour.
  6. Scotland’s Hannah Darling currently holds a 1 shot lead after day 1 of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Sky Sports are showing some live coverage for a couple of hours this evening.
  7. I’d have to disagree with this. We have a manager that most players like playing for. I personally knew one of our main players when we were in the Championship and he told me Stevie Farrell’s training sessions were the best he’s ever experienced. Farrell actually signs very decent players for our level because the players like him and he can sell the club but he’s tactically inept and we are absolutely pish under his management. I don’t think you need to be Pep but our most successful manager in my lifetime was the best tactician. He was always considered a bit of an arsehole, didn’t have a great connection with the support (he famously refused to wave at fans when one of the notorious happy clapper losers asked him to at a meet the manager session) and he let his assistant manager be the good cop. Being able to set up a team, change a game with a plan B and signing a balanced squad is far more important than being a good guy that the players love IMO.
  8. A history making season for the Stenny boys completely ruined by one act of madness from the club captain. Disgusting stuff.
  9. That’s actually a fair point. Not a chance these guys who have left to drop down the leagues would’ve just ripped up their contracts for nothing. I’s be surprised if the figure being quoted is accurate but with the amount of comings and goings, the higher standard of player being signed vs those who left and that January can mean players maybe come at a bit of more of a premium than in the summer then there is nae denying a fair chunk of investment has been made in the playing squad. That’s before you take into consideration the payoff for the previous management team and the fact that McCall wasn’t dropping down to this level for pennies.
  10. I think Lennon deserves a lot of credit. He’s gone from looking miles out of his depth to a dependable League 2 defender with decent potential. All whilst a shitstorm has been happening off the pitch and involved a lot of press he could’ve probably done without. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that Mark Durnan’s return to the team has coincided with Lennon’s confidence and form going up a notch with each passing week.
  11. I thought Buchanan was very lucky to survive after his assault on Gray followed by his blatant attempt at trying to get Wallace sent off by crumpling to the deck like a sack of spuds. Two yellows.
  12. He never changes the team after a win unless there are injuries or suspensions - regardless of opposition, if there are better players on the bench or conditions which may suit a certain system or players. Once we lose it will go back to the tombola until we win again.
  13. The worrying thing for me isn’t just that we looked bad, we looked like an absolute rabble tonight. A proper shame game just before the Euros when we are are poor form really isn’t what I expected from this group.
  14. Eh? That has to be one of the clearest hand balls you will ever see in your life. He doesn’t even protest against it. 20 mins and 30 seconds into these highlights confirms it…
  15. Yup. If they draw and Peterheid lose or alternatively if Stenny win and Peterheid fail to win they clinch it.
  16. Correct. And no matter how loyal a fan the person or their family are shouldn’t influence things or peoples opinion on the outcome. Just because it’s no longer a police matter doesn’t mean it isn’t a club matter, especially when it involves a paid employee. The club deserve criticism a lot of the time but they have handled this well IMO. Some of the vitriol being directed towards a certain member of staff because her name is being slandered by fans who think they run the place is a disgrace.
  17. They probably should’ve pulled the trigger earlier but you’d imagine Horn’s remit was to keep them up, which looked more than likely until the last few weeks, despite their rotten form. He probably had a fair bit of goodwill in the bank as well given he got them here in the first place. Either way a change now is far better than sticking with what they were doing. Bonnyrigg have a very limited squad so I’m sceptical it will make a big difference but they had to roll the dice IMO.
  18. Really? Bonnyrigg have been absolutely terrible for a long time and it didn’t even remotely look like changing. They had to try something, even letting one of the senior players step up for the rest of the season is better than sticking with something that clearly isn’t working.
  19. An absolutely bizarre take from Farrell and I have no idea why he’s chosen to single out two of our better players for criticism. It’s not like either of them had a bad first half. He says some really weird things at times.
  20. A very routine 3 points that. I’m just a bit disappointed we didn’t improve on the goal difference against a very poor Bonnyrigg side who look to be in serious trouble. I thought the referee was terrible and his reluctance to give Ruth any decisions was completely baffling. There was one at the stand side during the latter stages of the 2nd half where Ruth was ragdolled to the ground and he just waved him up. It was one of the clearest fouls you’ll ever see. It’s not even like Ruth is a notorious diver or one of those ‘dark arts’ type of players that would have led to his reputation going against him. Despite the refs hatred for Michael Ruth, I thought he was superb today. He is without a doubt the best striker I have seen in a Dumbarton shirt for years. He might not bang in 20 a season but he’s far too good for this level.
  21. Apart from the penalty he has given us absolutely nothing. He made it abundantly clear in the first five minutes he was giving nothing to Ruth in particular. We’ve been the better team but it has been a very scrappy game.
