  1. The start of a new era today. Obviously needing to take the usual 3 points against Morton. Even if McIntyre hasn't altered much in the short time he's been here, hopefully he's going to manage to get the players up for it.
  2. Thanks for the game. I'll try not to make it so easy next time.
  3. The decisions been made now so all we can do is get behind him and hope he can get things rolling and achieve the objective of survival in this league. He's got a few weeks now to see who he'll look to bring in and punt in January.
  4. Would imagine an appointment announcement would maybe coincide alongside a training session, so a video interview may take place, even though formalities and photos done at Gayfield beforehand. Of most of the common names being touted on here, majority seem to similar win percentages to DC, so results could be similar, but hopefully the football on the park might be more pleasing on the eye.
  5. If the pitch is currently frozen, then going by the forecast it may struggle to thaw out. Early decision needs to be made by officials.
  6. Sounds like the perfect game in our predicament. Looking to take a point.
  7. He was caretaker manager for a couple of games between McGlashan and Jim Weir if I recall.
  8. I get why Petrie is favourable and possibly a safe choice. My only concerns are: Can he make the next step up? Are we, as fans, relying too much on what we remember of him, having a big influence on previous success under Sheerin. Has anyone seen enough of the kind of football that Montrose play? I've watched some recent highlights but it's hard to judge going by them. Is it best to go for someone whose had championship management experience or take a chance on someone else, to see how they get on or with the worst case scenario that they are good enough at league 1 level if we fail to survive. The main thing now, is for the board to not rush things and take enough time to bring in the right candidate for the club.
  9. Div A probably 1st game week, so far behind I can't remember or bothered to look. AH13STU beats @Albino Rover with a last minute counter attack. Thanks for the tough game.
  10. It's not only the job at hand that took it's toll on him. Outside of football he's had his own health issues to contend with and didn't he also lose a close family member not too long back. So, in hindsight, maybe dick should've called time in the summer after completing his seasons objective. I know from losing my mum last year and my dad having early dementia and news of cancer recently how much that has took out of myself.
  11. If Petrie was the choice, then Dick could take over at Montrose to complete managing all Angus clubs.
  12. Looking at some of the names in that list. F**k me, I'll put my name forward.
  13. I actually read something the other day that Neil Warnock always wanted to manage in Scotland.
  14. The correct decision has been made at the right time. Thanks for all the memories Dick, Ian, John & Rab.
  15. Dick was on his way over to the fans at the end of the game to presumably, thank the fans for travelling down and apologise for the terrible performance. One fan decided to loudly tell Dick what he thought of the performance and Dick replied that he didn't need telling and was ready to do the angry Dick, Ayr Utd style stomp, for a confrontation. Big Rab preceeded to escort Dick away.
  16. After such a bright start with the early goal (which was a piece of quality), it soon transgressed into a very poor performance. It looked to me like a back 3 in the first half without wing backs fulfilling their defensive duties and ended up getting pulled from pillar to post. We lacked bite in midfield and allowed the taffs too much time and space. As has been said before by quite a few, we are missing a big hard b*****d in the centre of the park. Also a lack of creativity in the attacking third without Hylton playing. Fair play to all the Lichtie fans who, for a change, had to travel further than me for a game. A great turnout.
  17. I finally have a result to post. AH13STU beats The_kid1433 Thanks for the game.
  18. That would be a great turn out. I'm bringing along 3 for their first experience of watching Arbroath.
  19. Going by previous seasons results in this competition, it seems to me that this will be a tight game against TNS. Anyone have an idea how many might be travelling down for this?
  20. Ok, cool. He's a big heffer though. I know it's only a few quid difference but £8 could be better used to avoid eating at McDonald's after the game.
  21. Hey guys, a bit of a random question. Looking at getting tickets for the TNS game, what would you class as the age range on a junior ticket. Complete numpty on these things. I'm bringing along a 16 year old. Tried contacting TNS, but to no avail.
  22. As well as Bird has done and a good player that he is, i would like to see McIntosh get a start up top. Also think with the injury he had, it's best to slowly get Hammy back up to speed, rather than rush him in.
