  1. Since we're on the topic of getting old leftovers anyway...... https://club25football.wordpress.com/2018/02/06/mk-dons-2017-2018-home-shirt/ Same top down to the collar, Norwich and Blackpool had the same design in 16/17 and 18/19 with different collars. Not sure how pointing out how poor it is to get someone else's leftovers for your new shirts is being bothered - I'm sure better patter can be brought against someone as neurotic about shirts as me. Anyhow, much like Carlisle, QPR are also going for a Colgate fresh away shirt;
  2. No, it's at HVV's ground, kick-off at 5 PM. Tickets at the gate, cash and card accepted. The address is; Jan van Beersstraat 69 2523 JS Den Haag The ground is called Terrein Laakkwartier, rather cozy. It's not too far from ADO's freshly renamed Cars Jeans Stadion so your travel time won't be impacted. HVV is an amateur side from Den Haag and traditionally ADO's first opposition in pre-season. There is zero animosity between fans because anyone from the Laakkwartier neighbourhood is an ADO fan anyway. Home team will get a spanking but it probably won't be by double digits. ADO players to look out for are cult hero defender Tommie Beugelsdijk, local boy Lex Immers, and Erik Falkenburg, journeyman extraordinaire and holder of the Dutch record, having played in the Eredivisie for 7 different clubs.
  3. I hate to be sticking the knife in, but you haven't seen diddy until you've seen Swindon Supermarine in 2017/2018, playing the mighty Bideford in the Southern Football League Division West (Step 8 of English fitba). Them and Eastleigh are hardly the only teams to have used the Tabit design in blue, but were the first two to come to mind. Just from memory, Wrexham and Scarborough AFC wore it in red, Hereford FC in yellow, and Hednesford Town in grey/lime. Yes, the BLK tops were shockers, and I'm sure most fans won't care (I'm hardly 'in a state' myself beyond pointing the template), but slapping the crest on ye olde teamwear and calling it a day seems a bit disrespectful towards the club's standing. Replica shirts represent a growing market and a handy source of income (not to mention being the most visible part of a football club's identity), so it's a shame that whoever is in charge of the merch/kit at Saints isn't sitting up and paying attention.
  4. If that's on purpose, I suppose it was but a matter of time before suppliers started experimenting with this kind of tomfoolery. Pars' triangular crest does invite to tip it to one side for the sake of being different (and selling tons more shirts once it is properly placed again the next year). Anyhow, Fortuna Düsseldorf (rolls off the tongue, ja?) have a wavy new away shirt. Talking about experimenting with your crest, that effect you see in the second picture is exactly what you think it is. Ist doch geil?;
  5. Those are actually quite nice, is it the lack of proper stripes on the home that kills it for you? Only complaint I could have is the gimmicky collar (shared with St Mirren). Using home colours on the away is very thoughtful too. I would also like to challenge punters to spot the mistake on the promoshot of Hibernian's 'away' shirt.
  6. Anyone spot the mistake with the promoshot for the 'away' top?
  7. If I recall correctly, they didn't even deliver the home shirts until quite late; you were stuck playing in that maroon/gold monstrosity for the start of pre-season including the match at Shielfield. Below is Eastleigh's shirt from the 2016/2017 National League; three years old at this point, yet Macron have been unable to give St Johnstone something better for 19/20 in the top flight. It's either a rush job or pure contempt, imagine it's the former. For comparison, Edinburgh City unveiled a new design (albeit a template) for their away shirt today;
  8. That contract must have been signed late because that home shirt is a template from two years ago. Not quite as hot a mess as the BLK shirt but very, very disappointing.
  9. Akshually, that same day SC Telstar's Open Day is taking place; it starts at 14:00 with a 17:00 kick-off for Telstar - VV IJmuiden in Telstar's home stadium (30 minutes from A'dam city centre). Free entry, and you can go onto the pitch before the match, sit in the players' coach, get autographs, and tour the changing rooms, physio chamber, and the offices if you ask nicely; new shirts will be on sale, and matchworn tops will be sold off for cheap*. *I will be there myself a few hours early to buy every single matchworn shirt but can reserve one for you if that's your thing and you decide to go.
  10. @Am Featha *****h Nan Clach ADO Den Haag is playing HVV Laakkwartier on the 6th, in The Hague (which is close enough to Amsterdam not to be bothersome). That same day AZ plays Club Brugge, albeit in Garderen (about 80 minutes by car). Feyenoord is playing FC Dordrecht in Dordrecht (not sure how long that will take by car) I would say ADO is your best bet here, the other Eredivisie clubs play their matches too far from Amsterdam (either in NL or abroad) or on different days.
  11. Nothing of the sort, they are playing in the same league as Berwick Rangers.... oh.... Fall River Marksmen, lower leagues in the US;
  12. My money's on the second (Airdrieonians have it in black and red), the first is an older template. Macron fcuked up with Motherwell's home kit, I don't think combining the chest band with pinstripes was a good idea, but that away shirt is as close to a 10 out of 10 as you can get. Also pictured is East Stirlingshire's daring new away kit;
  13. Joma are vile, but they seem to pay well - can't blame clubs even if they will go around looking like right twits. Case in point, St Mirren getting hand-me-downs from Partick and Swansea. Anyway, Maccabi Tel Aviv, featuring forgotten brand Fila. Because Barcelona's checkerboard shirt had to be topped in terms of being awful;
  14. Anderlecht swap adidas for Joma after having spent the last thirty(!) years with the former;
  15. FSV Zwickau, German third league. Spoilered the third shirt because it's even worse than the home and away (hard to believe, I know);
  16. For all the Macron-loving regulars in the thread, home (red), away (black), and third (green) for German Bundesliga team Hannover 96;
  17. Sponsor kills it; I hope, for the sake of the club, that this company is paying a lot extra to be displayed in full colour;
  18. I feel like Brentford is telling us porky pies..... The club very specifically mentioned in the press release that it was the players and staff who requested 'a solid white area' to 'enable enhanced visual identity'. I don't believe that for a second, but it's better than no stripes on the back at all. No need to lie about who asked for it though.
  19. PSV away - orange since it's the national colours, and checkers to emulate the flag of the province of Brabant; Brentford switch from adidas to Umbro;
  20. St Mirren did even worse last season; they got the exact same template Partick Thistle wore in 17/18 (despite the Jags playing a division lower than the Buddies). Now they've gone and gotten Swansea's 18/19 shirt with two added stripes. Mind, the back is plain; (Spoilered so as not to clutter up the page with Swansea's old strip); Oh, and about the away shirt.....
  21. Beitar's previous suppliers were the world-famous, renowned..... Givova. Talking about Harrogate, their new top is a right mess. Fading one inch stripes like on Manchester United last year, except even worse;
  22. Hi mate, I lived in Singapore; you're in for a good, if expensive, time. The football season will be in full swing, so do consider dropping by one of the few stadia that are still in use. Local football is on its arse, tickets are 5 or 6 SGD depending on the club and they can all use the support, so give it some thought. Give the treetop walk a google; it's up near MacRitchie Reservoir and includes a really nice hike through the jungle, wild monkeys and all. It's free to boot, and you get some lovely views. Don't go to restaurants, eat exclusively at hawker centres. Amazing food, amazing prices - B-Gain at Clementi was my fave spot, but the old airport in the East was good too. Don't give any of the places at Marina Bay a cent, overpriced and crap food. You may want to stop by for a peek at the architecture and the free parts of the botanical gardens, though. You can also walk across parts of the Formula 1 track (some of the straights are pedestrians-only). Geylang is the red light district, they do good frog porridge there if you're feeling adventurous. Chinatown is worth a visit too, especially if they have a festival going on (they did last time I was there at the end of July). Jurong out in the West is lovely, the Chinese and Japanese gardens are free and there's a turtle zoo/museum that charges just a couple of SGD to let you in and toss food at a swarm of the little buggers. Can be combined with an evening match at Jurong East Stadium where Albirex Niigata Singapore and Warriors FC play. Good waterpark right next door too, now that I think about it. Never bothered with the zoo and night safari myself, so can't comment.
  23. I wore my original to my final high school class picture. If there has been a reunion since, I never got invited!
  24. Lots of fans pissed there's navy blue on the shirt. Too close to Everton for comfort, it would seem.
