This team are routinely proving me wrong and making a mockery of my generally cynical nature, braw.
Massive amount of credit to Murray. I didn't think for one second we would be let down or anything last night, but really thought that the injury and suspension situation was just that one game too far. Very wrong, that was a fucking hiding.
Hamilton being back is massive. A genuine striker and a genuine physical presence and focal point.
However, as always with me, Scott Brown is the pick of the bunch. I've said it too many times, but what the f**k was he doing playing in League 1? Pound for pound, that's one of the best signings we've made in years.

Well I'm well and truly shut up.
A total fucking hiding.

20-21 was the best year this decade and even then ended up being won by the recently relegated side (regular occurrence that, parachute payment needs cut IMO). If country come down they’ll spend like f**k just like last time. Livi for Dundee United no other movement is what everyone should want if they can’t go up themselves
Aye, we had a massive opportunity that year - felt at the time that was the chance.

I'm sure Arbroath have improved from last season, but the overall league has too. There aren't teams like Cove and Hamilton who were decent shouts for relegation from the off.
It's a very tight league, and will be for the rest of the season, but I'm not sure you could look at the squads in this league and pick out anyone who Arbroath should finish ahead of other than perhaps Morton.

Could have done without an extra derby ahead of the run of league matches coming up, to be honest.
The 3 games so far could have went either way, and Dunfermline will probably be due a win.
Obviously want to win and get through to the next round, but feel this is the least important of all the games this side of Xmas.

We've had numerous people using the relatively high crowd to somehow justify the Raith ticket price policy.
The home crowds are higher this season because you're playing well and are currently high up the table.
That's kind of my point, to be honest. Someone hinted that the derby crowd should have been higher than it was, but ultimately prices don't make that much of a difference. Its what happens on the pitch that determines if people go or not.

The crowd was high because it was 1st v 2nd and Raith are flying high. If you were 7th and stinking the league out the home crowd would've been halved and most of you would be criticising your club for its poor pricing policy.
Pricing wouldn't have made it much higher though. We've had well priced games to watch shite teams, in front of poor crowds.

Can't say I agree with that first part at all, football clubs are aware of the emotional attachment fans have, and it often seems to be the case that they'll overcharge for a product knowing fine well fans will stump up out of loyalty/idiocoy. The league cup final for example will sell out, but the ticket prices are a Sham.
Grumbling about it got the Dundee Utd prices lowered, and while the attendance was high for the Fife Derby, it could, and should have been higher.
I don't think the prices would have changed the gate much at all for the derby, Dunfermline already brought a bigger support than anticipated - a few quid wouldn't have fundamentally changed that. Only thing that would have, would have been if Dunfermline were higher up the table.
I do think it's getting pretty damn expensive to pay at the gate these days, and I'm personally not a fan of tiered pricing (whilst I totally get the commercials behind it) but it's the product on the pitch that matters and will determine the crowd. The Dundee Utd game was the most expensive game to pay at the gate that I can remember at Starks Park, but the highest gate for years.

Just can't see a lineup without Brown, he's the first name on the teamsheet every week for me.
There were 3 things last season that really bothered me. The away form, the inability to grind out wins, and the lack of a proper striker. So far so good in terms of addressing that.

Fair play to Murray for those substitutions, won the game.
What a difference having an actual striker on the pitch, gave a totally different dimension to our play.

Holy fucking moly

There is very little point in Masson being on the bench if we aren't going to bring him on in circumstances exactly like this.

Started the second half terribly, even before the red card, goal has been coming.
That's an absolute disaster with Watson injured.

f**k off Dunfermline

I'm assuming Kieran Mitchell hasn't done much at all, looking at the chronic form East Fife are in?

Glad to see Ross is starting to do well, if he keeps that up I wouldn't be surprised to see him stay with Rovers in the 2nd half of the season given our continued challenges with injury.

Hamilton hasn't been great in front if goal, but he offers genuine presence up front. We obviously don't want to be lumping long balls all game, but in a situation like yesterday when we are being pressed it would help to have a genuine out ball.

Maybe this will change your mind. Our club being dragged into sectarianism.......
Why the flag is offensive as hell! That doesn't explain the issue with a Union Jack flag in general though, which is more my point, rather than this one individual.

I'm not sure why someone wants a Union Jack Rovers flag, but I'm equally unsure as to why its causing offence. Can't say I particularly give a shit either way.

Fair result. Airdrie are a decent side who played some nice stuff.
We desperately need a resolution to the injury situation though, as obvious as that sounds. To be able to make one attacking change, with the signings we have made, isn't good at all.
No complaints with the guys on the park, they've had to put a hell of a shift in, but that's only going to get us so far.

Two questions for Raith fans:
1. Where do you think you will end up in the league?
2. When is the last time you played in the top division?
Gut feeling is 2nd place. Don't think we have enough depth in certain areas to mount any credible title challenge, but given where we are we should be aiming for 2nd place.
Its early doors tho. This time last year we were joint 2nd, a few points off top, and away to face Dundee away. The season then folded like a hot Easter egg.

A truly awful side, with a truly awful manager.

Mcpake strikes me as the type of manager to get you guys out of League 1, consolidate a Championship position, but ultimately part ways if there's any ambition or intention beyond that.
