Apologies about some of the audio issues from last night, for some reason the audio on the pitch was only picked up on when my mic was turned on. We'll look into that over the coming days
Shame there wasn’t a cut off in the commentators mics absolutely rotten Sam Gallagher and Paul Kerr ffs

correct me if I’m wrong but sabatini got caught on the ball for the 2nd goal, really not seeing the big fuss, think he’s done okay...
Sabatini has been great since he’s came best midfielder we’ve had in a long long time we just need to get the right midfield round about him and he’ll really show how great a player he is he’s too good for us along with Thomas Robert

It’s on Twitter Morton have failed to reach an agreement with Airdrieonians to sign David Hutton and he’s staying at Airdrie

Goalkeepers:
Hutton-Had one save never really was tested
Currie-Had a great double save was unlucky with the penalty
Defence:
Mcdonald- Added nothing much going forward but was decent defensively
Burke-Woeful
Fordyce- Solid against big Austin,Steady player
Kerr-Had a decent game at the back was even better in midfield with his passing
Crighton- Experienced head in the second half never really had much to do
McCann- Same as McDonald
Midfield:
Sabatini-Best player on the park for me good feet,Good at winning the ball back decent passing looks a good signing
McKay - Looks stronger and fitter than last season, looks like he’s improved his technical ability
Ritchie - Had an alright game couple of decent passes, never offered much
Robert- Class above the rest like sabatini plenty of pace and skill,One to watch for this season
Stokes-Looks a worker,Never really got a chance to show what he’s got because it was a nitty gritty game
Forwards:
Gallagher-Worked hard,Bit isolated at times and never really got any chances
Roy- Least said the better
Thomson-Plenty of pace just lacks that cutting edge
O’Reilly- See Thomson
Carrick-Had a half Chance in the second half,Works hard never got another chance

How was Rohan Ferguson for you guys?
Struggled,Played behind a shit defence and was thrown in the deep end a 19 year old playing week in week out struggling and couldn’t be took out the firing line,His confidence was shattered,But when he played in the game against Dundee United in the cup shows there’s a top goalie in there and has a load a potential and would probably took him over Max Currie

Jack Leitch has left Peterhead. Seems to have done really well for them and could be a decent signing if he returned.
Bang average at best has the odd good game no for me

If this West Ham thing is going to happen, is it likely to be at the start of August? See that some of their players are out of loan at other clubs until the end of July. They seem to have a good set up and hopefully we get some talented prospects coming in. Tough season ahead and I think if we can get the full squad in place prior to pre-season training it will help the team gel for sure. Might be good to get HR in the dressing room for a team talk prior to some key home games, get the lads going
Yes

As you say, only signing under 30s to sell them on - as has been mentioned up the thread - could only be the plan if we were signing guys on multiple year deals. As we aren't, I can't see how that is the plan. Development fees for guys you've signed and only had for a year or two are hardly going to be a big earner.
It's a bit of a cliche but you need some experienced leaders in the team. That doesn't mean they need to be over an arbitrary age, in this case 30, but you do need them. Part of the failure of the Wotherspoon/King era was a lack of leadership on the park. The senior pros were Russell, Conroy and Fitzpatrick (who was injured for most of it if I remember correctly) which was not what was required and I think the younger guys at the time suffered as a result.
I like the mix of our squad as it is, with maybe one addition. We have an experienced option in nets if needed and have good leadership in the back 4. Up front, Carrick and Gallagher have good experience at a higher level. It's just the midfield where I think we might need someone else. Good quality, senior midfielders who can run a game aren't exactly cheap though.
We’ve got experienced players there,Hutts Crighton Fordyce Gall carrick and even max Currie has played a decent amount of games for Stranraer plus you’ve got the quality of O’Reilly and Robert to come in we’ve got a decent young squad and are maybe one or two players away from a really strong team!

No signings above 30, if true why, surely a wind up
Because they don’t want to get landed with players like Adam Eckersley last season and was on a high part time wage and hardly played and worth nothing or you can have a young player that has the potential to bring in 100k+ Or progress Airdrie for years to come it’s not rocket science

1.David Galt ain’t coming to Airdrie
2. Marc mcnulty is certainly not going to east fife*
3. We ain’t signing any players over the age of 30 apart from Hutts

Excuse me for being thick but which paper is this and is it all Scott Mcdermo... , whoever that is? The sub heading certainly condemns and praises in one sentence. How many young guys have come through in the last few seasons before being shifted on?
It’s Gordon parks and the Sunday mail
