How do the BBC find the people to run these articles on? What's the process?

Like see when Olivia and Logans first trip to Val D'Isere is having to be cancelled because no one is hiring the Air BnB in Skye thru the peak season, how do the BBC find out about that and decide to run a story?

How do they have such and incredible record of finding such relentlessly posh, unrelatable characters?

Trawling the social medias is how tabloids get most of their stories now - I'm guessing the BBC is the same.  So they are naturally going to end up with a lot of stories about attention-seeking welts.

I watched a video about him, filmed in his home town, where everyone they interviewed was pronouncing it like that. They were saying Erling differently as well.

Yep.  The "a" with the wee circle above (Håland) is a separate letter in the Norwegian language and is pronounced sort of like "aw".  So "Holland" is what his name sounds like pronounced properly.

(Source - lived in Norway for three years and learned a bit of the language)

  3. Just got into this recently and I'm deep into Season 5 now.  Absolutely class.  I think someone posted the video earlier in this thread of Mac's line "That doesn't sound right, but I don't know enough about stars to dispute it" but that was one of my favourites so far.

  4. We were bad and Hibs were definitely the better side.  However, claims they could/should have won by three or four might be going a bit far!

Some of the players that ended up on the pitch for us at the end - wooft.  If you need to make subs, please use the competent players on the bench first (Watkins, Barron).

By my calculations, if you had a season ticket and attended every single away league game for five seasons you wouldn’t even be half way there. Anyone in that bracket should be given first dibs, you shouldn’t be able to buy your way in through DNA (and I say that as a subscriber).

It's surely one of the key selling points of DNA though - access to tickets for hard to get away games and first dibs at the decent seats at Hampden.  If the club didn't offer that they wouldn't get as many DNA subscribers.  No matter what your opinion is about what DNA should be for, it does very much allow folk to buy their way into these matches, and although I don't subscribe to it, I kinda think fair enough - those folk are putting more money into the club than I am (assuming they are also season ticket holders).

They just can't get it right. The BBC website has changed the matches from all being in the League 2 playoffs, to now saying that The Spartans v Brechin is now a League 2 match.

It happens every season.  I'm sure last year or the year before there were a couple of playoff games already played before the BBC even started listing them anywhere on their fixtures.

I expect they don't have the same problem accurately listing the playoffs in the English leagues.

Beautiful guitar, please don't put a black guard on it, it's a fantastic aesthetic just now.

I love the idea of getting an old guitar and just farting about with it to upgrade it manually. Have thought it a few times, getting maybe a strat out of the classified or even cash converters for the purpose. I imagine it would be really rewarding.

I just have a preference for black pickguards for some reason.  It's easy enough to swap back anyway.

The main thing about upgrading / rebuilding a guitar seems to be soldering the pickups, which would take a bit of practice (I'm not particularly handy!).  All the parts have rocketed in price recently too, although I suppose guitars generally have as well.

  8. I've been playing with a new band for the last few months so that's given me the push to finally get a Tele:

I bloody love it.  I cleaned up my old '97 USA Strat and got a chunk of money for that towards the Tele, which is a 2004 USA Standard.  I might stick a black pickguard on it at some point.  Now I've got an SG (bought new in 2003!) and a Tele and I've really got the guitar bug again!  Saving up to buy another cheaper Tele to (attempt to) take apart and put together again for a laugh.

In addition to the electrics I have Martin and Takamine acoustics, plus an old Squier P-Bass which has upgraded pickups in it.  Oh and a ukulele!

For years I pretty much only played acoustic guitar so I think my rhythm guitar is pretty good - I never really played much lead guitar but that's what I'm doing in this band.  So I'm having to deal with a wee bit of imposter syndrome.  It's great fun though.
