I know this shouldn't be the case but there's really no point in the majority of folk on here listening anymore.

I'll get far more worthwhile summaries from reading match threads on here or checking the scores on my phone, which is annoying as a radio show before and after games is the perfect format, especially when you're driving to and from games, but it's quite simply a waste of time.

The problem with that is that you can listen to the radio when you're working, driving or exercising.  I quite often go a long walk on a Saturday afternoon if I'm not going to a game, and I like listening to Sportsound (or I used to, anyway!).

Sportsound should strive to be balanced because Rangers and Celtic fans already have reams of content to choose from (podcasts, commercial radio, every media outlet in Scotland give them 80% of their coverage), not to just match up to the imbalance.  I would also suspect some level-headed Old Firm fans - if such a thing exists - would agree that it's far too OF-heavy right now.

They don't do something stupid like lock the gates at 10pm do they?

The Pure Gym that also uses the IKEA carpark is open 24 hours so I doubt it.

Sorry if this has been asked. Can you get to the ground from the Wellington Hotel walking? Is there any alternative to walking from the Burger King roundabout?

I want to go but will be late so will have to try and walk there from the North side.

    Thanks in advance

Walk south along Wellington Road from the Wellington.  There's a wall you can climb over and get round the back of one of the industrial units (unless they've blocked it off since I last used it earlier this year!).  That cuts the walk short because you don't have to walk all the way to the filling station and double back.  Think there's a "no pedestrians" sign up or some pish.

Any cove fans in here help me out? Lived up here for a bit but never been to cove for a game, am I best to park at Altens for the game or is there somewhere else a bit better? I’m thinking it might be a hassle getting out after the match but can’t really think of anywhere else to park.

Just drive into Wellington Circle and find a space either on the road or in one of the car parks for the industrial units.

  3. This obviously brings Hannah Moore back into the news cycle.  No doubt she'll have some scheme to make money out of it - perhaps setting up a charity to battle the scourge of jobby-based memorial defacement (and appointing herself and numerous members of her extended family as highly-paid executive directors, of course).

Anyone on here challenged their meter readings successfully? My mother stays alone in a 2 bed flat and is being charged £210 a month for her energy use. She only has electricity and has disabled the shitty storage heaters installed. She heats one room in her house(when she needs to) using an oil filled electric radiator and her other costs are 1 shower a day and one hot meal. She boils the kettle about 3 times a day. Her hot water is on a timer and comes on twice a day for an hour. I got an electrician out to check everything and it appears all in order. I'm convinced her meter is faulty but EDF her current supplier insist it isn't despite them not checking it physically. She is using twice as much energy as me and my wife despite us having gas a bigger house and more usage, I'm looking for a definitive way to check her meter readings are accurate.

Heating and hot water from electricity is generally much more expensive than using gas, so it might be the real usage unfortunately.  I suppose you could take an exact meter reading, switch everything off for half a day or something, then check the reading hasn't changed?

It was strange.  Taylor's goal was from the second of two corners one after the other and Watkins was in the box for the first with Miovski outside.  After we cleared the first one, Watkins ran out of the box (along with two other Dons players!) and Miovski ran in.  I suppose they were just resetting to the players that were supposed to be in there but it was weird watching it happen and hardly surprising there was a bit of panic/confusion.

Just caught up with the highlights there - the first one was actually a long throw, not a corner.  I'd only had two pints as well!

Taylor managed to get a free header as we've taken the bold approach of putting three up whilst we're defending a corner, which left space everywhere.

I think you see loads of the game from the RDU. Not sure where you sit but Richardson is constantly making runs and not receiving the ball as we either take too long and he's now offside or we pick a different option.

That's why I've been critical of Hayes. So many of our attacks slow down because Hayes movement isn't very good.

I caught (by mistake) about 3 minutes of Question Time last night. That show always makes my eyes bleed.

Bruce: Any Tory voters want to say anything about how they are feeling?

Gammon faced waste of skin with toxic brain: Yes, this is bad. We've been going from crisis to crisis for ten years now. It is hard to defend voting for them all the time.

Great illustration of why we're totally fucked.  It has the same energy as the guy I saw interviewed on the telly coming out of the polling station in December 2019 saying he voted Conservative because "it's time for a change".

Do you have to advance register a "squad" for internationals? Managers pick squads to give themselves a group to work with obviously and there's a requirement to name a squad for tournament finals. Genuinely not sure there is for qualifying matches. Clearly there are the practicalities of getting a valid passport and potentially a visa for the destination country in some cases (I assume we can move freely to Poland for work can we?).

I'd have thought if it took our fancy to fill out a squad there's nothing to prevent Stevie Clarke naming himself and Steven Naismith in the squad as long as he submits a teamline the designated 2 hours before kick off, or however long it is. Anyone know for sure?

Each match is treated individually as far as I can tell, but you need to get your matchday squad finalised and confirmed to UEFA by midnight of the day before:

    "44.01

Each association must provide the UEFA administration with a list of 23 players (surnames, first names, club and date of birth) as well as the surnames, first names and date of birth of the head coach and assistant coach, mentioning their coaching qualifications. Three of these 23 players must be goalkeepers.

    44.02

For the league phase and for play-out matches, the list of 23 players must be completed online by 24.00CET the day before the match. A signed copy of this list must be handed to the UEFA match delegate at the pre-match organisational meeting."

    https://documents.uefa.com/r/Regulations-of-the-UEFA-Nations-League-2022/23/Article-43-Player-eligibility-Online

The list of 26 or so that comes out a week or two before the first game in a triple header is only so published so that fans / clubs / players know who's been called up.  Basically, if Shankland or whoever was called up today because Adams is shitting himself inside out, it seems we could get him into the squad for tomorrow (assuming of course travel is possible, which it surely would be).

England and Wales home games are on council telly. Not sure about North Ireland. Scotland are on a non-standard channel on Sky.  So not only do you have to pay a standard Sky subscription, you have to then pay for Premier Sports.

Or get a fire stick programmed for it.

You don't have to pay for a Sky sub to get Premier Sports if you use the online player thingy.
