  1. I don't think there was ever any question about his attitude. He made the effort and wasn't throwing a strop when things didn't go his way, he just didn't appear to have the ability to compete at this level. I don't think there's much ill will towards the guy, there's just a total lack of evidence when it comes to his performance levels.
  2. Definitely can't wait to take these capsuals. Looking forward to improving my pregnancy, and getting even more fatigue.
  3. Just when you thought the Superbowl was going to be the most watched sporting event of the year.
  4. Really good to hear the club are looking into subsidised travel. Shows a commitment to bringing the fans and the team closer together, as discussed last night.
  5. Further to this, a wee glimpse at our keepers head-to-head across all competitions this season:
  6. I can't for the life of me remember what it was, but I'm sure there was a story to Joe Dunbar, particularly around the time he left the club.
  7. Davie's now played twice as many games this season as Laidlaw, but they've conceded the same number of goals.
  8. I imagine the plan before the season started was: 2014/15: Cuthbert playing, McGurn on bench, Laidlaw out on loan. 2015/16: Cuthbert playing, Laidlaw on bench, McGurn released. I can understand any manager's desire to have their first choice keeper in for every training session, but with the way McGurn keeps playing, it'd be madness to change it.
  9. Boy on Facebook bemoaning this signing. Would rather we'd signed someone like Colin Nish. Jeez.
  10. I don't know about their game against Dumbarton today, but there were mitigating circumstances when they stuck five past us.
  11. Perhaps we're being a little harsh. He's not the worst player I've ever seen for the Rovers. He was pretty terrible for us, though. He's not one of these "bombscare" defenders who seems competent for much of a game and then boots the ball into his own net (Hiya Simon Mensing, hiya pal!) In fact, I can only think of one major error that he made in his time with us - he got himself sent off in the second minute of our game against Livingston, conceding a penalty in the process, after letting Mark Burchill get goalside of him - but his overall game is very poor. If any of you guys remember your win over us in the Challenge Cup at the start of the season, and how utterly abject the Rovers were that day, Perry was probably our worst performer. He panics when he's got plenty time, and takes his time when there's a need for urgency. He's not terrible in the tackle, but he doesn't judge a high ball well enough or dominate in the air as much as a centre half his size should. Rory McKeown, our left-back, took a lot of stick at the start of the season, but he's improved ten-fold since Perry was superseded by Dougie Hill.
  12. We signed him as emergency cover due to two long term injuries, and he turned out to be half the player of a rusty Laurie Ellis. Avoid.
  13. There is not a chance that Dumbarton will be relegated. Alloa and Cowdenbeath are both rotten, there's no chance of them over-hauling the points gap.
  14. David Bates was sent off for East Stirling yesterday, for a studs up challenge.
  15. A sad day for Laurie Ellis. Until today, he was the squad member with the most league goals for the Rovers. Grant Anderson has now joined him... on ten. We've got four players who've notched double figures in a Rovers shirt in all competitions. Anderson - 14 Hill - 12 Ellis - 11 Elliot - 10 Also, Jason Thomson will almost certainly make his 100th league appearance for the Rovers at Alloa next weekend.
  16. You're bang on. 10 goals in 12 appearances (one from the bench) in the league, and 2 from 2 in the cup, too. He's joint second top scorer, with two other guys. One of them has scored 7 penalties in just 16 games.
  17. I'm going, to chalk it off my list. I really wasn't looking forward to the second league game there, but at least with the cup I can give that one a miss, and the Rovers will (theoretically) see half my money.
