  1. Trialist has gone into central midfield. He's been turned a couple of times, and I don't think he's touched the ball yet.
  2. Not convinced. Looked like it took a touch and looped into the top corner.
  3. Entertaining enough pre-season fare. Wighton is obviously very skilled with the ball at his feet, and throws himself into headers with more gusto, and technique, than you'd expect. Definitely in the 'Mark Stewart' role tonight though. Very fluid unit behind him, lots of buzzing about. Anderson much more central than we've ever really seen before. Hell of a tan on him, too. No idea on the trialist. Don't recognise him. Could conceivably be Aaron Birch, but a quick Google suggests to me it's probably not him.
  4. Anyone taking bets on the first boo of the season? Reckon it'll be by half time tonight. Couple of games under their belts will likely make a big difference for Hearts, as well as their quality.
  5. You ate your nest egg? You're meant to sit on your nest egg til it hatches, not eat it like some greedy, mad chicken.
  6. Yeah, they'd be as well canning the game now and finding somewhere with an artificial surface that's free this afternoon, for a "closed door" game.
  7. Disappointed (not with the club, necessarily) that nothing has come of this plan to have some reciprocal season ticket pricing with other clubs. Sounded really interesting.
  8. 'You know the saying about flies and honey...' 'What'd I want with a bunch of flies?' 'Without flies, you can't fly fish.' That's rubbish dialogue, isn't it?
  9. Hibs fans seem pretty convinced that he's in for a medical tomorrow. It hasn't been confirmed by Inside Transfers yet though, so I'm a little sceptical.
  10. Looks like Watson is off to Hibs. A good move for him, and probably justifies the actions of both the player and McKinnon. If he'd signed on early he'd miss out on a move to a bigger club, and we'd have been left hanging if we'd waited for an answer. He played every minute of last season. Hopefully we can get similar consistency from his replacement(s).
  11. Dougie Hill has joined Alloa. It probably was the natural time for him to leave Stark's, but he's definitely good enough for this level. Glad he hasn't had to drop a division (or sign for Dunfermline).
  12. I'd forgotten about Megginson, that's my bad. I think it's likely we'll be playing a 4-2-3-1 in at least some games this season. It'll be interesting to see who settles into each role.
  13. Right then, if the season kicked off tomorrow, how would we be lining up? Stewart Vaughan Petrie McCord Callachan Anderson McKeown Toshney Benedictus Thomson McGurn Can't see there would be much in the way of movement there, given Barr's injury. Between now and August, I wonder how many in that XI might be displaced? Vaughan's likely to lose out to Wighton, at least initially. I'm not convinced Petrie is an ideal starter. I'd like to see another out and out wide player join (I know opinion is split on Cardle, but I think he'd improve that line up) to cover the left hand side at the very least.
  14. I've always assumed that too, without really thinking about it, but it does make sense. If insurance covered on-field injuries, there wouldn't really be any risk in signing an injury prone player.
  15. Oh my God, he's got a Youtube showreel. If we don't sign him now, I'm going to be furious!
