  1. For me, a scaffy is the same as a binman. I don't what we'd call a roadsweeper other than a roadsweeper.
  2. Mine is similar - she's up at 6am and doesn't stop until 10:30pm. I have no idea what exactly she's doing half the time but I know she takes a nap mid-afternoon the lazy bitch! She follows a routine so the floor gets swept after dinner regardless if it needs it etc. I have to say it gets on my nerves as her pottering around almost makes me feel guilty when I'm sitting down with my feet up having a beer. Almost!
  3. Isn't that all organisations, charitable or otherwise? The correct answer is Yes.
  4. RNLI receives 2% of its funding from govt. or other public bodies whilst Oxfam receives around 45%. Not comparable at all.
  5. So they're saying "I don't want people to get paid for saving lives because I might get another boss to report to"? No. They are saying we prefer to get our funding from people who will not want a say in how the money is spent.
  6. Okay, perhaps not entirely reliant but why have a fully funded fire and rescue service but not mountain rescue? I don't see the difference. You can have a nice career in Fire and Rescue but if there's an accident on a mountain you're relying on volunteers. The RNLI don't want Govt, funding as they would then have to jump through all sorts of hoops.
  7. I have been advised by my legal representative to make no further comment.
  8. This sort of thing has always happened though, in some way or other. How many times have you thought of someone and out of the blue you hear from them or meet them. Or seen a word you have never come across before and the next day the same word crops up. Weird shit happens.
  9. I played football so didn't hit the bevvy until about 17. Drank in pubs rather than behind the shops.
  10. I'm not so sure. They are such everyday items that so many people use that if they were being used to spy on people it would be happening all over the world and word would have gotten out before now. The phone tapping was more selective i.e. not everyone was being tapped. Anyway, what are you trying to hide?
  11. Probably they have the capability but how much it is utilised I'm not sure. I definitely don't believe the govt. are spying on us as it would have gotten out long since if they were. For advertising, well we know how that works on PCs / phones etc so I'm pretty sure they use it for that.
  12. Ask the Arab Aussie. (unless there's a 2100 hidden in the pic of 3000!)
  13. Underage drinking was much more a thing in my time than smoking.
