Anyway small matter of a new manager required.
Any rumours or preferences?
A lot of people calling for Allan Jenkins. I wouldn’t mind Allan but would like someone experienced beside him. Would hate to see him fail, especially being a local.
Jamie Hamill probably in with a shout but I really feel we need someone from the outside to come and change things.
I’d personally bring back Stevie Aitken with Farrell as assistant.

The above statement was continually being removed and re-posted on the SFC's supporter's page on Facebook last night (my wife was keeping me posted). Are the admins for that page also on the board?
I know one of the admins is not. I've been asked to remove comments by members of the committee befoe so don't know if that's been the case last night.
If we could get everyone commenting on the facebook page through the gates on a Saturday we'd be flying.

Three of the Stranraer committee have resigned and released a statement slating just about everyone else.
Statement from Stranraer FC Committee Members David (Taffy) Jenkins, Iain Robertson and Alan Logan:It is with great sadness that we announce our resignations from the Stranraer FC Committee. This decision was not taken lightly and as lifelong Stranraer supporters it is not something we could ever envisioned doing. We have resigned as we have profound concerns about the way the club we love is being run and no longer have any confidence in the Chairman and Treasurer to take decisions in the best interests of Stranraer Football Club. The atmosphere at Committee meetings recently has been toxic, lacking in courtesy and respect As Commitee members we have consistently been excluded from key decisions and not been provided access to essential financial documents to enable us to make informed decisions on the club's future. In our many years of experience in both the public and private sectors, we found this financial practice to be highly irregular and one which poses an unacceptably high risk to the club. This lack of transparency and unaccountable decision making is not in the best interests of Stranraer FC and we fear if changes are not made the club will fall out of the national football league. We believe the club needs to address these concerns urgently, beginning with an open discussion at our upcoming AGM on the future direction and leadership of the club.We will continue to support our club, but only as loyal fans from the terraces.Best Wishesto all Stranraer supporters and stay safeTaffy, Iain and AlanThis should never have been aired in public. Deal with it at a committee meeting. Club are still trying to gain trust of locals due to corruption many years ago, this does not help one bit.
If it's not being heard in meeting call it out at an AGM or try and get EGM.
I would take a guess that this isn't football related and is more to do with running of The Fitba Bar as the three men who have stepped down were the sub committee who run the bar. The work the three gents do or did at the park is phenomenal, they were assets but I can't agree with how this has been approached.
Hopefully a statement today to put things to bed.
At present, no manger, no team and only three quarters of a committee.

Any players Faz is likely to bring with him or have most of your lot signed up?
Hilton and Paton yet to sign.
Don't think there's much love between Hilton and Faz.
Led to believe Paton has a few full time offers. Wouldn't be surprised to see him follow the manger if nothing else comes up for him though. Would be a good addition.

Farrell has gone to Dumbarton, and Franko has also gone, as his assistant.
Not too many regrets at manager's departure. Lots at the departure of Frank McKeown.
Hopefully take the whole back room staff.
A complete overhaul would be nice, timing is awful though.1 -

The word on the street is that Dumbarton have approached big Faz for the job. How would you rate the job he’s done?
His performance are probably reflective of his budgets.
By far the lowest budget in league 1, by far the worst team in league 1.Built a decent team last season, things may have been better had we not had the break.
Always speaks well and seems well respected in the game.
Club have stayed loyal to him. He was given a two year deal before even securing a play off spot.
The season before we only won two games and he kept his job so our committee must see something in him.
Be neither up nor down should Faz move on, only frustration would be the timing .

Not against him at all TBH.He knows the club and the set-up well and has I believe lots of connections in football, especially at Junior level.
Would love him to unearth the new Garry Fleming.
We’ve not seen much of his connections with junior football.
He seems to be well though of by many managers and players though.
Ryan Stevenson said he’s the best he’s worked under. Still chose to sign for Troon instead of us though.0 -

I really hope we have a manager lined up and we're pressing on with things whilst we sort out the paperwork or whatever, because it's madness to sign players before we have.

Andy Stirling to Darvel confirmed
Do Darvel players turn up to games with wash bags under their arm and silly looking headphones?
How many of the players have pony tails?

Duffy, Elliott, Hilton, Paton and Stirling are the only players yet to officially make a decision.
All have something to offer at our level.
Hilton would piss over that league, he’s bit part in our league as not suitable for games when dirty work is required.
Duffy will score goals at any level.Paton and Stirling both good talents and will no doubt have offers from better outfits than Darvel.
Elliott is ok. Wouldn’t be my first pick but offers a good physical presence and can run all day.
Victoria has turned down a new contract, being Portuguese, Mr Kennedy may be able to attract him with his peri peri chicken. Or just a ridiculous wage.1 -

Only big egos go to Darvel, not big players.

Scouse away
Dependable member of the squad.
Stumbled up on the left back position and made it his own. Not sure Burns would’ve gotten back in had it not been for injuries.
One I’d of liked to have kept. With Devitt away we really need another centre back.

Moving to us? Seems like another solid signing if so.
According to my source in Motherwell. Good reason to believe her.
He has been offered a new deal with us but I’d imagine Stirling will be a more attractive proposition wage wise and travel wise.
Scouse has grown on me as a player. Previously I would have said you’re welcome to him but, he’s became a dependable member of our squad.
Spent most of us time a centre back but stepped in to cover left back in our win against Hamilton and made the place his own until injury put an end to his season.
Offers a threat at set prices too which is an added bonus.3 -

We did play 3 at the back. This signing suggests McNiff will be the left sided of a back 3 next season as you suggest. The defence was arguably our strongest point last season. Hopefully McNiff will help us continue in that vein.
Add Adam Cummins to that defence.

Connor McManus to East Fife now confirmed.
Not sure we’ve ever found the right partner for McManus.
I know others disagree but always thought he was a bit of a luxury. Tidy on the ball but, doesn’t do enough off it.
Don’t think he didn’t track men well, doesn’t have many goals to his name or assists.
If we are to keep Miller I’d like to see a bit more of an attacking midfielder in beside him.

Interesting. I think Victoria might be off.
Do you not rate Fleming?
We’ve been spoilt with goalkeepers for a good few years.
For me Fleming maybe needs to lose a stone or two.
Often looks stiff and unfit.
He’s a different style to the likes of Currie, Mitchell or Belford who all did well for us.
They were all about agility and shot stopping.
Lobbed against Kelty and Queens Park. Partly to blame for the Edinburgh City goal in our last league home game. Struggles to kick with his right foot.
His efforts against Albion Rovers in the penalty shoot out were abysmal.
Ironically went on to save a penalty against the same team in the league.Flip side we kept many clean sheets this season so he can’t be all that bad.

I hope Jaio Victoria stays. Would not be surprised though to see him leave, given the number of times the manager
has thrown him under the bus this season.
Not absolutely sure what Muir brings to the team .
Think Victoria will be away. He’s not been one for sticking about during his career.
Don’t think we’ll see Paton, Hilton or Elliott back either. Each of them at the stage were they’ll want to be playing every week.
Leaves us short attacking wise.
Muir had good stats at Annan but, didn’t carry that on to Stenny although a few of their fans have spoken highly of him.
Would like a new goalkeeper, two new full backs, a centre midfielder and couple of forwards.

Wrong one.
Orr is it?
Would think so. Works with Swift and played for him at BSC.
Big fan of Orr, will be disappointed to see him go.

Looking forward to seeing how he performs in the Lowland League next season.

If our best chances could have fallen to any of our two players I'd have picked Orr and Duffy. Even more frustrating watching it back and seeing how close Orrs chance was. Majority of the time Duffy buries that one in the first half too.
As a great Stranraer fan often says, onwards and updwards.

Two teams scared to lose. That’s never going to make for a great spectacle.
Happy enough with how organised we looked defensively.
unfortunately Dumbarton restricted us going forward. Orr and Duffy didn’t get much of a chance and were outdone physically.
Stranraer probably had the best two chances of the game. One in either half.
Not too disappointed as we’re still in the tie.

I think Dumbarton will be relegated in the play-offs. The Sons are, by some considerable distance, the worst side I've seen in the SPFL this season. They are a team so devoid of flair, guile or an attacking threat - I've watched them five times and they didn't score a single goal.
Stranraer are a handy side and Ruari Paton and Thomas Orr are good players, two of the breakout stars in League 2 this season, and I expect them to stick in a couple. Should they overcome the Blues, they'll likely face Edinburgh City, an even better team who, again, I'd fancy to win promotion outright.
It gives me no pleasure in saying this but I've paid about £50 to watch "Duffyball" over the season and I want vengeance.
Would not be surprised to see Orr sign with yourselves next season. Good relationship with Swift and Moore.
Really hope not.

Decent performance last night, couple of scares but we got there.
thought Duffy and Orr were excellent first half.
McManus played one of his best games for us as did Elliott.
Sonkur dealt with Henderson very well, was an enjoyable battle to watch.
If we play like we can we’ve got to fancy our chances in the playoffs. I suppose the rest of the teams will feel the same.
The playoffs have never been kind to us. Time for that to change.

Promises to be some night for the nerves for Stirling Albion, Elgin City and Stranraer fans on Tuesday.
Queen’s Park have the title in the bag already but they have a role to play in who makes the play-offs as they travel to face Elgin, currently 4th.
Edinburgh City are in the play-offs but could finish anywhere between 2nd and 4th. They travel to Stranraer, currently 5th.
Stirling Albion lie third, but they have completed their fixtures. They are 1 point ahead of Elgin and Stranraer and all three are on the same goal difference. But, as both Elgin and Stranraer have scored more goals than the Binos, a point for either of these two will move Stirling down a place in the table. If both Elgin and Stranraer take at least a point, Stirling move down two places and drop out of the play-off spots.
And another strange possibility - if both Elgin and Stranraer lose, the team which loses by a smaller margin will be 4th. If both lose by the same margin the table won’t change and Stranraer will miss out.
Stirling Albion can finish 3rd, 4th or 5th. Elgin and Stranraer can finish anywhere between 2nd and 5th. Edinburgh City, as above, can finish anywhere between 2nd and 4th.
Think I’ve got that all right...?
Sportsound on Saturday night - more interested in a meaningless Glasgow Derby!
Exciting stuff, can't wait for it.
Not much between ourselves and Edinburgh in the previous meetings this season.
We're fortunate that we know what we need to do. Go and win and we're fine. Don't need to worry about the other permutations.
Your right with Sportsound. Only acknowledgment was to notify listeners that details of League 1 and 2 could be found online. Poor given all that's still to play for in both league.

I wouldn't have the post removed but, I don't believe it should be out in the open in the first place.
The clubs reputation stinks amongst the locals as it is. This only add fuel to the fire.
The timing doesn't help either. All concentration should be on appointing the next manager and getting it right.
