We had the chance of the season early on and Josh McPake missed it.

It was actually Jake Davidson but aye, still not sure why he elected to pass it across goal rather than just hit it the way he's facing.

The ridiculous thing is we might have actually stolen a point from a game we deserved nothing from if our Celtic loanee could actually get a decent shot on target. I don't get what Williamson has done wrong to be dropped since Cilftonville (a game where he played well and scored)

Five league goals so far. One a penalty at Cove; Ayr - free header in front of goal from five yards; Thistle - toe poke from two yards; Accies - toe poke from two inches. Wasn't at Cove but I'll take Mick 1867's word on it for the fifth goal.

Some folk get really touchy about alternative views on employees of our football team.

The Cove game was at Ochilview 😉  and you don't have to take my word on it, there's a video.

As for folk getting touchy, not really. They just have a different opinion than you and want to share it. Like you've done.

I think if you asked anyone who has the slightest knowledge on Simon Murray as a footballer, a poacher would probably be the last thing you’d associate with him

Murray is well worthy of the worship amongst our support. He dragged us to promotion, giving me and probably many others, the best moment supporting qp in around 20 years of me going to games

He’s now quite rightly the captain and playing the best football of his qp career. Easily one of the most likeable players we’ve had at the club

His workrate is incredible. He has poached a few goals as well tbf, however his second goal against Cove just sums him up and proves he is far more than that. Chases the ball down to put pressure on the defence to concede possession before he flicks the ball round a defender and buries it in the bottom corner.

MotM though goes to Lee Kilday for me. Like most I thought he was re-signed as the back-up but apart from Dundee he’s been excellent and yesterday added in a cracking attempt on goal plus the best save of the match at the end.

Kilday has really stepped up over the last month or so. Great headed block onto the bar at the death but it was Savoury of all people with a back header off the line a second before that. Is there anything that lad can't do?

Echo that if Carlsberg did away days emoji460.pngemoji3515.png I was lucky enough to be at TNS too scenes at the end there were tremendous but overall a better match day experience at Solitude helped by the social club, friendly locals and the full 90 min QP songbook incl some dodgy new compositions! Guinness assisted yesterday of course but great feelgood factor following the team atm emoji2764.pngemoji7.png

I have to say, in all my years of following the QP, this was up there as one of the most enjoyable away trips of all time (I sadly missed TNS) A great night out in Belfast city centre on Saturday night, followed by a superb day's hospitality at their club (10pm flight home 😫) Second only to the pre-seasons trips to Germany for me.

The Wee Bar in the ground is the one that's exclusive to QP fans on match day.

Gilmours closed 3 or 4 years ago. Crown is fine for a quiet pint but Ochilview Bar is probably the ideal boozer for away fans coming to the area.

The Wee bar is too wee for everyone so most QP fans (well, the ones that I know of anyway) go to the Ochilview Bar as well. As you say, it's ideal and has been pretty busy all season with "home" and away fans. Plenty of bar staff on as well so don't have to wait that long for a drink.

Any word on our game next week moving to the Fri?  I noticed that Syngenta lot are playing on the Sat, and I'm sure I read they take priority if Stenny are away?

We've been assured by the club that's all been sorted out now and we're playing Saturdays (we must have bunged them eh)

Although it wouldn't be the first time we've been fed bullshit

Glad he's proving a few folk wrong and maybe Beuker knows what he's doing emoji848.png

At the members' meeting last season, where Beuker gave his presentation, he was hanging around after having an informal chat with a few of the supporters and his exact words to us were "Liam Brown and Jack Thomson are the type of young player I was talking about, both of them are the future of this club"

He did indeed HD and I’d expect the starting line-up to reflect that. I’d also expect an experienced bench though. Cliftonville will be a tough opponent, especially at home, and an even game with 25 mins to go needs to be won.

Correct. Aye changes will be happening, that's a given, but I'd still expect a few of our main men to be starting and the rest on the bench.

I still remember Mark Roberts making nine changes to the team that won the opening game of the season at Stirling and we ended up losing to Celtic Colts. No comparison with the strength of the current squad of course but I wouldn't want to be making wholesale changes tbh. Players also want to play every week to keep momentum going.

I'm also not a fan of wrapping players in cotton wool just in case they get injured. Players can get injured in training. If they are carrying a wee knock or strain then fair enough.

As a person of faith myself I would prefer a more secular reasoning behind the choice of person to open the new Lesser.

Having a competition among the various schools and community groups would garner much positive publicity over a period of time; the wean gets to cut the ribbon and their parent pulls the first pint in the bar.

As an atheist, a parent and a drinker, that sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

More likely King William by the time its finished (that should get some Rangers fans along)

There must be some ancestors of Mary Queen of Scots still kicking about, get them invited along to open the new ground (seeing as we're indirectly named after her) A link with a good catholic monarch should keep them miles away 😉

Feel a bit guilty hijacking the match thread, anyhow, this QP are a pile of shite, and three points are there for the taking for Morton. Stop the ginger whinger up front, and they've nothing else, they play a load of tippy tappy shite that gets them nowhere, and they've got a donkey at the back that looks like he should be in the NBA, and that's about it.

    Thank you.

Nice bit of casual racism here from Mr Angry
