  1. Delighted with that tbh, part from that wee sloppy spell obviously. We look like scoring every time we go forward these days. So much energy and attacking ability. Some goal by Williamson, great pace and movement to make the defender look like he was towing a tractor and a cool finish. Next Tuesday of course will be a harder test. Then we'll know what level we're at for the Championship.

  2. First half, I think 4-2 flattered Stranraer. Don't think it was a penalty tbh but would like to see it again (get the highlights up please) Murray's movement and finishing very impressive. Second half a bit of a stroll. What a signing we've made with Savoury, sort of attacking player we've been crying out for.

Well done to Stranraer for having that wee bar open at half time 👏

Saturday has me looking forward to going to Stenhousemuir to watch us play Forfar Athletic on a Tuesday night. Silly club. Silly sport. I think he might go with a similar team and give the younger lads a run at EK on Saturday, if their park is ready. We should be miles ahead of any part-time side at the moment, even with a bit of recruitment to do. Same again would be nice.

I'm expecting Forfar to be a lot better than Stranraer mind you. Have a few useful looking players in their squad

Tops are alright. Were always going to suffer from following what were arguably the best kits we’ve ever had. Quite like the badge effect behind the red on the away. Didn’t desecrate the home shirt, which is all you can really ask for given that you can’t really do a lot with that classic design.

Yeah, think they're both OK. Away top is starting to grow on me. Happy we went back to red with black and the QP badge woven in on the side looks good.

A round black collar on the hoops is a departure from the usual. And I like the badge going back to white on a black background but don't like the new wording above and below. Seems a pointless addition. Maybe 1867 at a push but having our name above it is unnecessary.

I’ll be making my own way to Tuesday’s game but flagging this up as it has a first-come feel to it. Not sure how many seats are on the bus but according to this, it’s just one bus.

‘The club will running a free bus for all members and season ticket holders to attend this fixture – it is vital those who are looking for a seat on bus register by 4 pm on Monday 11th July.

The bus will leave Lesser Hampden at 6:00pm and return to Lesser Hampden immediately after the game.’

It's good that they've actually updated the info today with the bus times. That did seem a bit of an oversight last night.

I assume there will be more than one bus if there is the demand for it. There has to be be as they have guaranteed free travel for all season ticket holders and members.

Of course EVERYONE should be getting access to these buses and an86's posts have absolutely nailed it. It's been a wee while now since I was involved with running the QPSA buses but sorting numbers and booking was pretty straightforward. "On the day" was the massive pain in the arse 😂

Must have been the most borderline choice Coyle had to make. I don’t think Doyle’s a leader of men and if he was allowed to just play his own position, without the burden of the armband, I reckon he might still be with us. Had a good first half of the season but had a variable late season, which probably did for him. There were others in our team who didn’t give as much over the season and they’re still with us. Timing is everything!

If I was allowed one free bet on anything I’d go with Mikey banging in a screamer against QP in the 92nd minute.

I actually thought Doyle was a good captain last season but I take your point about being left just to get on with his own game. Like a few players, he didn't go into the play offs in the best form but he sure stepped up his form when it mattered in those play offs. That block in the second half against Airdrie was match saving.

I was gutted for him when he was released. Personally I would have re-signed him for another season. Even as good experienced back up to Naismith. From what I've seen of Naismith, Doyle looks far more mobile and we all know he'd run through a brick wall for the team. I just hope the reason Naismith has been signed is his overall distribution is better (I'll take his defensive qualities as a given) We'll soon find out.

Really looking forward to Saturday. Nice length of journey, few beers and a look at some of the new guys. Beat Utrecht’s first team squad yesterday and looked pretty sharp.

Can never take too much from these games, whether you look like Pep’s Barca or a Sunday League mob. Rarely bears any resemblance to what’s ahead. If we want to have a chance of getting out of the group, we need to win our first two.

Aye decent away day to kick things off.

Are away fans still accommodated in the shed across from the main stand? I think the last time we were down it had wooden benches/seating but during the Covid season I noticed on the stream shiny new plastic blue and white seats had been put in

They have a supporters' club that's fine. We also had a pint in a pub on a corner that's on the way to the ground but unfortunately I can't remember the name of it!

Been a while but this is the one some of us go to. The Ruddicot is another one

. Neither keeper had anything to do tbh

Muir had a couple of saves first half to make from low shots that came through a crowded box, the second one with his feet was pretty smart. But apart from that not much for either keeper to do outside of dealing with pass backs and distribution of the ball. Despite Alloa being the better team second half I can't remember them getting anything on target that Ferrrie had to deal with. There was a one-on-one that the guy blazed wildly over.  Thomson also had a free header second half that floated wide of the post.

  10. Hope Willie Muir is OK after that. He was knocked unconscious after an aerial collision with Charlie Fox. It looked horrible and every player, especially Charlie, looked really upset. It was only 7 weeks ago they were celebrating promotion together.

He'll go down in history as a proper QP legend and one of our greatest keepers so I hope he recovers well so he can continue his football career. He showed last night what a fine goalie he still is before the injury.

It looked horrible and the game was quite rightly abandoned at 0-0., Every player, especially Charlie, looked pretty upset and the whole ground went silent until he went off to applause. It was only 7 weeks ago we were all celebrating promotion together.

and Ferrie did not put a foot wrong with a string of top rate saves.

I think he might have done better at their first goal tbh, rather than just push it out the six yard box for someone to tap in (especially when you see it from the net camera angle) However Longridge shouldn't have been so easily shouldered off the ball leaving Ferrie a bit exposed.

Apart from that, absofuckinlutely delighted with the overall performance of the lads. Murray was class and his work rate is exceptional. And Savoury looks pretty special. Getting excited now for Saturday

That’s the thing, the matter of time. It’s actually written into the Articles that it should be held in May. Hence why they just can’t glibly change it as it would necessitate a members vote. Instead, they just ignore it. I found the last impromptu one in August quite positive but sadly, like last August’s, it’s all been a damp squib regarding the non-playing events. I guess anything regarding money is increasingly awkward for the Director’s to discuss/explain.

In other news, I hear the owner of the Warrior’s Club is a bit moist at the thought of weegiecash coming through every couple of weeks. Glad somebody’s happy.

Do they have special dispensation to hold it whenever they like since Covid came on the scene? Last year's was of course held in December. Nothing stopping them holding them sooner now of course. Like you, I also found the last members' meeting quite positive ( take it you mean the one held earlier this year)

I will be happier once we get to that pub, I promise.
