  1. Great news, hopefully points to better planning than last summer's chaos.
  2. Having looked at the Morton and Scottish Cup highlights I still can't really see why he's given a straight red. Feels incredibly harsh and a case of a referee inserting himself into a game where it isn't necessary.
  3. Very funny when their fans go on about the level not being good enough despite being in 10th. Quite clearly this is your level. Edit for any Morton fans - this is about the Celtic kids article.
  4. Throughout the game you could see the quality and physical difference between the part time and full time side and while Morton were on top, Bo'ness were causing issues and as long as it was 1-0 and 11 v 11 it was going to be entertaining and still a bit of hope. Unfortunately Napier ruined that with what looked like a dodgy red card. Lots of credit to the team for continuing to battle through and to the management team for making attaching substitutions, it would have been easy at two down to shut up shop and call it a day but instead he flings on another striker - your going out, might as well go down fighting. An enjoyable day out, just a shame we didn't get to see the tie played out as it should have. On a negative note, while the young team were fantastic singing the whole game, a couple of songs slipped in there that have no place at football. Slag Napier all day for being a shit ref, but no need for the homophobic stuff.
  5. Game ruined by what looked a poor decision from the ref. Boys can be proud of that effort.
  6. Genuinely excited to go back to the Norseman. Only disappointment is that we aren't getting the wee Dublin end.
  7. Not often you score four and come away thinking we're lucky to win that. Three points and all eyes on next week. He might have a mistake in him but I'll be glad to see Musa back between the sticks.
  8. Very lucky to be leading here. Goalie looks, ahem, interesting.
  9. Work hard and get the job done early then they can think about next week.
  10. Johnston has been ok at it, but I think it impacts his all round game. More of a box to box man for me. Striker is always the hardest box to tick, but trust this group to find someone for next season.
  11. Really enjoyed the game today, ref tried his best to ruin it but the players in both sides managed to overcome that. Thoroughly enjoyed the ref trying to have banter with the fans in the early going and quickly realising that wasn't going to to well. Another great performance from the team. Stevenson and Macaulay are excellent fullbacks at this level and there can't be many better centre half groups than McArthur, Hawkeye and Travis. Thought Travis especially was outstanding today, would have headered a brick wall if needed. One area of the pitch I think we're still light is defensive midfield, Gemmell and JJ are doing well, but I think beyond them there's a bit of a drop off. Guys can play there, but it's not their strength. Second half thought Foster really came onto a game and played some great stuff, but first half trying to play deeper didn't seem to suit him. Certainly got something to offer and he'll give Tom Grant a bit of competition for that 10 role. Tough day for Lucas, but always kept at it and caused problems, even on an off day he's helping the team big time. Shout-out to Porteous grabbing two goals today and looking absolutely buzzing at the fourth, he's coming onto a game and suddenly we look dangerous all across the front line. Finally big Scott up front. Puts a hell of a shift in every game and causes every defense problems creating space for the three coming behind. It's great fun going to watch BU just now and massive credit to Hunter and the coaching staff, they've done a tremendous job never mind the circumstances they found themselves walking into.
  12. John Ward signed for Tranent. Not very surprised he's moved on but I am about it being to them.
  13. After that second half shout-out to the sun for being the standout for Cowdenbeath
  14. Played a few yards higher this half and been fantastic. Looks to be a talented player
  15. Best news is the players will be able to see when attacking in this half - Cowden really failed to take advantage of it largely thanks to Travis.
  16. 1-1 probably fair at halftime. We look leggy from the hard work in midweek. Foster looks a bit missing at the defensive side of the game, not sure the role he's playing today really suits his skillset but the pass through to Grant was excellent. Travis has been imperious in the air, he's been a cracking addition to the squad. Interesting to see the change in Cowdenbeath. After being quite physical when I saw them last year they're light on their feet and playing some decent stuff. Nice to see they are maintaining the ex Fife big club veteran at the back after Iain Davidson last year we've got Dougie Hill today (who's walked it to be fair).
  17. Cowden are no mugs so should be a right good game today. Be nice if the sun holds out for kickoff!
  18. A mixture of ego and Kennedy's experience of failing to get Darvel out of WoS due to a playoff defeat and a late collapse might make the option of Clyde quite tempting. Plus while they are nomads these days, they are an actual football club who've been up to the championship on occasion. EK might have a shiny home, but until the new ground gets built (haven't heard much on that for a while) they might as well be nomads in K Park and it's cage.
  19. People are critical of this because: 1. Given the amount of money being spent and talent available it should be a last resort going long, not the primary tactic. 2. Mick Kennedy has endlessly praised himself (and criticised those who've come in behind him) over the last couple of seasons about how great his possession football is.
  20. Thought the team were immense tonight despite the result. To go two down that early and stay in the fight was great, definitely wouldn't have happened under the previous regime. Stenhouse is electric, hopefully we can hang onto him beyond Christmas. Also while he has been disappointing so far, Porteous is starting to show hints of why he was signed. Post and a great save away from a double at the weekend and while he still had errors tonight he looked much more involved and confident after his goal. EK are a weird bunch. For all MK talks of passing football that was kick and rush as much as anyone in the division. And hearing the coach shouting about Musa dropping the ball was just plain embarrassing.
  21. Certainly looked over. Keepers tend not to fling the ball away when they don't have anything to hide.
  22. No doubt they'll win the league this year, but having seen them tonight, I'd wonder if Mick's thinking of getting out when the goings good. For the cash being spent they look fragile rather than imperious.
  23. Anyone have a decent view of the keeper at the end? Couple of folk down that end seemed adamant that was over the line.
  24. The bit of money is a nice added extra, but it's great to still be in the cup and have a decent away day different from the usual for the fans. Morton have been very long ball heavy this season, there's every chance in their currently form that the team can make it a competitive game.
