  1. Keen to see the Luncarty "goal" again. Given the amount of bodies in the box very surprised there wasn't a nick off someone. Tough watch today, but a nice wee ground and can look forward to a trip to Greenock. 9/10 pies, 1 point knocked off for running out before half time.
  2. Drove through Luncarty today, pitch looked heavy but playable. That said I'm no groundsman so who knows really!
  3. Missed last nights match but delighted to hear Travis had a good game after a tricky first 45 against Hearts kiddies. Also brilliant that Hunter has been able to get us back on track after the sticky few games, he's got off to a cracking start when it's all said and done.
  4. Happened to get a freebie for St Mirren on Sunday. 12 minutes it took to hear that shouted at the ref. Lots of cheat, cheat, cheat chanting too despite VAR being there to keep it above board. Lovely stuff imo.
  5. I'm trying to remember the last time I was at a game Bo'ness or otherwise someone near me didn't call the ref a cheating c**t. Not to go over old ground but what was especially telling about that referee was how exasperated players on both sides were getting with him, they couldn't tell what decisions were going to be minute to minute whether it was fouls/throw ins/bookings/corners. He had an absolute shocker and it wasn't just the fans seeing it.
  6. Away from the ref... Hearts were clearly the better side in the first half, but despite that they never created a lot of chance, scoring from a dubious penalty and a Musa mistake, so BU could count themselves to be unlucky to be two down at half time. Second half was a different matter, got in about them and they clearly didn't like it, ultimately unlucky to not to take all three points. Michael Travis looked utterly lost first half, ends the game a hero scoring a double and looks like he'll be a threat at set pieces. Thought Kyle Johnston was great today, with JJ and Gemmell in there seemed to free him up to play his own game. Felt Stevenson was missed for his own play and what he gives Stenhouse, but the right side grew into it and were great second half. All in all it was great entertainment and very satisfying getting it up the hearts fans (weirdos) who were watching this rather than the Edinburgh Derby.
  7. Worst refereeing performance I've ever seen. Shameful to see a team here for "development" blatantly diving as well. Can't wait for them to f**k off.
  8. If the game goes ahead, these are horrendous conditions for football. Should be fantastic!
  9. Centre back looking like a position of strength now, what a difference one signing can make.
  10. No point spending money for the sake of it, much prefer this approach from the management team than just signing players that might not be good enough. They did well with what little time they had, but most players they'd have fancied would have had deals agreed by the time they came in. Do wonder if the Berwick situation might give a chance to shuffle the pack even if it's other clubs wanting to move a wage out to bring one of their higher earners in.
  11. Was an absolute joy watching Lucas in the first half today, the amount of players he skipped past was wonderful and gave their left back such a roasting that he had to come off at half time. He seemed to fade a bit second half, but that might have been because he was on the other side of the pitch from me. Great finish from Kyle too, hopefully gives him the boost he needs to kick on this season.
  12. Nice to see Lennon Walker come to see his old team.
  13. Well over the line. Stenhouse has the left back on toast.
  14. With what happened this summer mid table would have been the goal then, upper mid table now for me and build for next season.
  15. To get this thread vaguely back om track It's going...fine. Expected the season to be an absolute mess given the summer antics, the five wins to start were a good laugh but was never going to be sustainable. Hunter has built a solid team, he'll now have to work out how best to make it function. Musa looks improved on last year and guys like Stevenson are looking decent after a confidence sapping time under Max. Lewis McArthur has done well to lessen the impact of Jamie McCormacks loss, and though he's got a tendency to overplay that might be better than Jamie's tendency for violence. JJ Henderson and Porteous look like good signings, now they need to hit their rhythm a bit more regularly as things settle down. Telling for me that in the last season and a bit Kyle Johnson felt like a bit of a standout, he's now more often looking like the odd man out. That's nothing against him as a player and.he is playing a slightly different role, but it reflects on where the rest of the squad has elevated a bit. Perennial problem of lacking a goalscorer, but if they were easy to find everyone would have a couple. Overall if you'd offered where the team are now before the season kicked off I'd have taken it, just wish it wasn't so streaky.
  16. Another tough one to take, clearly needing some cutting edge up front. Positive would be Stenhouse looked electric when he came on (though I was on the other side). Porteous is more effective through the middle, off the left he's struggling to get involved in the game.
  17. Was an absolute blast of a game to watch and great to go toe to toe with a team that will expect to be near the top at the end of the season. Lots of games to go, nights like that'll happen.
  18. Play that game ten times you win eight, lose one and draw one. Tough to take but team need to dust themselves down and bounce back.
  19. Game being played at some pace, interesting to see what players are thriving and which ones are struggling.
  20. Wonder what Ian Little is thinking right about now after walking from BU for this.
  21. That's a lot of words to end with a gif showing a stonewall penalty.
  22. Pretty poor performance but I think everyone was thrown off by the pitch issue followed by all the first half injuries. Great however to see the team fight back for the win where they definitely would have toiled last season. Kennedy stepped up well when he came on and my goodness Musa, a number of top drawer saves today, he's becoming the keeper that he showed the potential to be last year. 5/5 for Hunterball, doubt even the most optimistic fan would have thought that possible before the first game of the season.
  23. Gretna came to avoid another humping and can't blame them for that. Good for the squad to have a bit of rotation and still be relatively comfortable. One thing that is noticeable is how confident the players are taking risks and playing with a smile on their face, great to see.
