I thought the right back of Darvel went over the top of the ball and "done" Taz in the last 10 minutes got a yellow but he should have had a red imo
That’s your opinion mate and you call it as you see it. The tackle was a bit late and no more in mine. Yellow was a good call from the ref.

Counting has never been a strong point of mine either so I relied on recording them on my phone.
Darvel took 5 penalties (scored 2, missed 2 and the other was saved)
Hurlford took 4 (scored 3 and 1 was saved).
Therefore no reason to take the last penalty.Just shows the confusion the ref caused as we can’t agree on how many penalties were taken.

One thing I did notice last night was Darren spoke about signing 6 under 21s and freshening things up , were they aw on holiday as I never saw many under 21s on the park
Hurlford looked a really good outfit last night despite being a bit rusty at times. You can see why they compete for all the trophies.
One thing I noticed about last night was the lack of bad tackles. A few mistimed ones but nothing really horrendous
Thought the ref managed the game well except for his inability to count the number of penalties.

Never mind the refs needing to learn the rules. They need to learn to count. The ref tried to stop the penalty shoot out after 4 pens despite the fact that Darvel could still draw level at that point. Cue the Hurlford goalie celebrating and many people leaving the ground. The ref didn’t look to chuffed when it was quite vigorously pointed out to him
Min saying that the keeper did have right to celebrate when he saved the 4th penalty.

Great game at Darvel tonight with both teams going at it hammer and tongs
Even first half Darvel 1 up at the break
Second half dominated by Hurlford and should have won in the 90minutes. Hurlford win 3 2 on Penaties
Darvel will win their league in a canter big physical team who tried at times to bully Hurlford which didn't work but will probably work in their favour in Super First
Hurlford were excellent all over the park
Thought the attendance was over the 500mark
I will stand corrected on the attendance.
-1 -
I reckon over 400 at Darvel.
1 -
A decent game between two well matched teams. I’d estimate a crowd of over 400 tonight with the bar and pie stall doing a roaring trade.
DL sure delivers when it comes to promotion of the game.

Hurlford won on pens.

Just arrived at Recreation Park and I must say it’s looking magnificent. The playing surface looks like a bowling green and the new shed is the business.
Well done to all involved.

Advantage should not be applied in situations involving serious foul play, violent conduct or a second cautionable offence unless there is a clear opportunity to score a goal. The referee must send off the player when the ball is next out of play, but if the player plays the ball or challenges/interferes with an opponent, the referee will stop play, send off the player and restart with an indirect free kick, unless the player committed a more serious offence.
Good luck with the making an instant decision on the second Cautionable offence bit. I’ve been at games with upwards of 8 or 9 yellow cards and the referees can hardly keep track using their notebook never mind making an instant decision.

Wait till they start winning and the vitriol will be spilling out of some people on here.

It's jealousy pure and simple .
If you go to Darvel and meet the guys on here then you will come away thinking they are a decent bunch who love there club and there football .
They are trying to break up the old order in the game and in Ayrshire and I hope they do it .
Time will tell if they do but the one thing they won't have is regrets as they are gonna give it there best shot and I can't knock them for that .
Some of the personal stuff against DL has been disgraceful and while I know it's water off a ducks back it's still not acceptable and I'm personally looking forward to having a beer with him and the other lads on here when they come to Glasgow for there annual candy beating .
Two faces Gotw.
