  1. Are there any links to list votes other than Fatima Joji who is tweeting the NE list results? It would be good to see some analysis of how the Unionist vote is diverging from constituency votes to see if there is any likelihood of the SNP picking up any tailend list votes based on the higher differential turn-out. That would probably mean squeezing out the Greens who don't look particularly high in the NE.
  2. It's pretty clear that Tories will lend their vote to Labour but Labour voters are much less liklley to lend to the Tories. That's where the Indy majority needs to be found, the Labour vote, as we aready knew.
  3. Not my reading of it. She knows she's back at the top of the list anyway.
  4. There's surely not 30k people in Alloway and Doonfoot specifically No of course not but they each have 4 councillors. You need to include Seafield and Fort in you assessment.
  5. Pretty small areas overall. Prestwick and Troon awash with the blue rinsers more than those areas. Not, quite, it's basically Ayr Wwest which is roughly the same size as both of those.
  6. Alloway, doonfoot and some other 'I'm alright Jack' tory spots Oi, watch it, SNP in Doonfoot here! But you're right, a lot of old Tories in this neck of the woods.
  7. They aren't the number of SNP votes is up. That means the other parties have a bigger job even if their vote share increases. It still looks good for the SNP. The constituency vote is looking like a proxy referendum result so the interesting number is the total % for the SNP plus 30-40% of the Labour vote.
  8. It's also a judgement on Nicola Sturgeon and that seems to be overwhelmingly positive.
  9. It seems that pundits think a high turnout favours the SNP. The mood of Ballie and Ross may also back that up. There will be a lot of intell now from sampling and observing the size of the vote piles so maybe cause for optimism!
  10. There's a picture of AS at the count sampling votes so it looks like we should start to hear something soon.
  11. Interstng that the turn out and queues discussed on the thread may be borne out.
  12. Well now I am confused! How does a third placed party deliver a national recovery in a collective mission if it won't work with anyone else?
  13. A quick glance shows Ayr and Edinburgh Central going to the SNP and the other marginals staying put? That means the losses would be on the list. I'm not sure I have faith in the New Statesman on anything let alone predicting a Scottish election.
  14. I took a look at his twitter and remarkably his vote is bamboozalingly high and the SNP vote is cratering, wow! What an arrogant little sh*t! Yes he'll probably have won but I'd be overjoyed if he lost, what a toltally smug little man he is!
  15. My lifelong Labour voting mother has informed me she voted SNP/SNP today. She rates Nicola, thinks Starmer is a waste of space and that Sarwar is a hypocrite with his private education of his children whilst proclaiming himself a socialist.
  16. I think Pretswick is a bit light on polling places and statiosn compared to Ayr and Troon Polling Districts and Polling Places - Proposals (south-ayrshire.gov.uk)
  17. I think you'll be a bit short on your estimate. 23.8% of the electorate registerd for postal votes and a high number of those have been cast. Anecdotally, we're reading here about polls being busy today so I'll say around 60% turn out.
  18. Ian knows what is required to win the Championship. We couldn't quite afford it, but with a bigger budget and off field resources, they are a decent bet. He'll already be in touch with players and his extensive contacts. building for next season. Looking at the make up of the league next season, if he was still here I'd say we would also be in the running. Hopefully DH can get us up to that level as well.
  19. Irvine, Kilwinning and Stevenston. Ruth Maguire won with over 52% of the vote in 2016.
  20. No, it's Cunnighame South which is not a Tory area.
  21. It was 42% in Doonfoot just before 6pm when I voted after waiting in a very small queue. SNP both on votes for me. I hate being represented by a Tory so fingers crossed John Scott gets his jotters.
  22. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj89L6vxLPwAhVIgFwKHQIUDmoQ3ywwAHoECAIQAg&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DXWsvzko1fkY&usg=AOvVaw3zX4006xm9j3mPWxmYdLqB But no-one will listen now!!!!!!!
  23. Sorry Sandy, that is incorrect, we can use the pound without the consent of the BoE or UK government for as long as we want. There is nothing they can do to stop us. The international debt markets, and currency trading, exchange sterling outside the UK every day (Sterling accounts for around 13% of the total of currency trading globally). My preference is our own currency at the earliest point that makes sense. We have options on currency and that clearly needs to be artictulated in the run up to the referendum and is our decision to make not RUKs. A downside of keeping the pound, or pegging to it, is ceding monetary policy to the BoE and the difficulties that presents for divergent economic needs.
