Hope the Dundee fans aren’t too rough today after a whole night celebrating the “draw with Rangers” cup win.

    Tinpot.

I honestly don’t think there are many posters on P&B that would wake up the morning after Rangers dropping points in the title race and think “I want to discuss the manner in which Dundee fans celebrated.”

    Each to their own though.

    Mental but entirely not surprising.

I always thought that we would get a suspended fine, like Motherwell and that would be the end of it. Terrible precedent to be set here if they try and hound us for money because of postponements. Especially when they fixture can be played.

SPFL thinking: Lets charge clubs an insane amount for sub-standard technology that sub-standard referees continue to make mistakes with every weekend, lets make sure the big two get the most amount of money whilst the rest fight for scraps balancing the need to maintain their facilities whilst also putting a semi-competitive team on the pitch. Then, just then, we'll make sure that when a fixture is postponed and the big team along with the tv companies stamp their feet we will just go after the club in question.

Did Rangers even get fined for their pyro nonsense earlier in the season and for the disruption that had on the game? Did they f**k.

Good point well made.  Also, how many fans have Rangers identified and banned?

I want Dundee to at least get a point tonight pal. In fact if you boys could still qualify for Europe I'd want you to do that as well, just for the novelty factor of course.

If you could stick your head up above your union flag when the third goal goes in I'll wave to you through my TV. I just hope there's not that many in the Derry or I might miss you pal.

Good to see you’re still interested in what’s happening in the top half of the league.

I've rarely felt so torn on a game. Goes without saying that under virtually any other circumstances I'd be praying for a Dundee win, but for obvious reasons, tonight I need to hope for a heavy Rangers victory (washes mouth out with soap, delivers several lashes to the back Opus Dei style and dons the most itchy of hairshirts). After tonight though, I will be happy to see 4 gubbings dished out to Rangers (not arsed who wins their game against Celtic).

How could you support Rangers?*  Be more like @tree house tam who supported Ross County on Sunday.

*I’d be the same in your position.  In these sort of situations my team comes first - always.

Why can't it be another midweek at Dens?

Plus won't many ticketholders need turned away - Dens holds more than McDiarmid and have to be unallocated seating?

Rangers may well have sold out their allocation but I doubt we have.  Like some supporters of other clubs, there are a number of Dundee fans, including season ticket holders, that simply refuse to attend games against Rangers and Celtic so total ticket sales so far are likely to be under 10,0000.

Given the general behaviour of “a small minority” of their fans and the sectarian / political songs that are repeatedly belted I can’t say I blame them.

They also invaded the pitch at Ayr United this season did they not after a goal?

    Surely not?

Was beating AZ quite an Achievement and worth celebrating - Yes

Did the wheels completely fall off from then onwards - Also Yes

@Arab_R_us could you clarify if the pitch invasion at Ayr was indeed the case?  Also, I notice you didn’t say whether invading the pitch at Airdire was an appropriate way to celebrate a 1-0 victory against them.  Given how most of us on here value your opinion is there any chance you can give it please?  Thank you.

bit weird celebrating coming 6th out of 12 like you have won the champions league

I think making top 6 is something worth celebrating.  Like United, Dundee have only did that twice in the last 10 seasons*

United fans on the other hand invaded the pitch when they beat Airdrie away in the Scottish Cup.  That to me is not something that’s worth celebrating in that manner. Each to their own though.

*As you know I like to think of myself as being a fair person so it’s only right that I point out that United were in the Championship for 5 of those 10 seasons so maybe it’s a bit unfair comparing United’s top 6 finishes with Dundee’s.

Baldemort trying to blame the cancelled game during the week…

Couldn't mark his neck with a blowtorch.

Dundee players were in exactly the same position as the Rangers players.  One manager managed to get a result from their players this weekend while the other manager did not.  Sounds like a Clement problem to me.

He has blamed today’s defeat on them not being about to prepare and train properly for the game because of us. Beautiful.

Last week the Dundee players were in exactly the same position as the Rangers players in that they didn’t know if the games at Dens was going ahead or not.  One manager was able to get a performance out of their players this weekend while the other manager did not.  This despite the fact that the Rangers squad cost significantly more to assemble.  Sounds like the problem lies with Clement.

I think Clement, and a Rangers for that matter, would have been wiser not to get drawn into any controversy surrounding the pitch at Dens and simply concentrated on keeping the Rangers players focussed for their match against Ross County.

it was Clement walking down the tunnel in a big Huff at full time. wants everyone to respect them but they rules dont apply the his team

I assume Clement was happy the pitch in Dingwall was payable?  Although to be fair he didn’t look too happy at the end  when he stormed down the tunnel without shaking hands with anyone.

I know Rangers are very keen for professionalism to be displayed at all times in the Premiership so I am fully expecting another statement calling out this lack or professionalism on Clement’ s part.

@bennett are you able to confirm if a statement is to be issued on this matter?

Dundee lose all their games after the split.

St Johnstone win all their games after the split.

St Johnstone end the season with more points.

You do seem to have developed a terrible habit this season of posting how the league positions would look if Dundee loose and St Johnstone win certain games.  I think we can all do basic arithmetic.

I can’t believe I am saying this but is there any chance you can go back to posting stats and pie charts about players please?

It's an innovative strategy to scrimp on the pitch/stadium to help improve the squad. Aberdeen and Hibernian take note.

I believe both clubs you have named will have spent more on their squad than Dundee have.  Perhaps it is not all about the amount of money you spend.

Now, now.  No way to treat a near neighbour.  I simply posted tonight to see if those who have repeatedly refused to consider McIntyre has been a poor appointment still feel that way and back him for next season.  Seems reasonable to me.

What are you on about?  Even on a night when Dundee fans should be celebrating the results of their latest bit of financial malpractice, they are still obsessing over one of their ex-managers.  How tragic.

So I can’t pop in here for a minute or two?  I appear to be getting a very hostile reaction here.  Just simply seeing if people have changed their mind?

A few of us, me included thought that it was far too early to judge McIntyre during the very early part of his tenure due to the shit show that he inherited. We were an absolute mess when he arrived and we were all willing to at least give him a chance

However it’s been far far worse than any of us hoped and I’m pretty sure we’re all united now in thinking that his appointment has been a compete disaster.

A very fair assessment I would suggest.

Oh prophetic one. Please pass on some more insightful knowledge to us mere pilgrims. You are a god amongst us.

Perhaps you can tell us the next lottery numbers or how to ensure a pitch can drain suffeciently that it’s not deemed waterlogged after a small drop of rain.

Keep refreshing the page hoping to see he is gone......

There is surely no way he can survive this,

Everyone would give him a chance and time if there was signs or performances that gave us something to be hopeful of, Unfortunately he has made a bigger mess of the mess we were in and he has given nothing to show he can be trusted or have the ability to fix it

I came on here a good while back saying that it was a bad appointment and that McIntyre would do nothing to improve the club - especially with regards to the team bonding that is so important.  Everyone on here will know who they are but there were regular posters on here that repeatedly refused to acknowledge it was in any way McIntyre’s fault and that he was placed in an impossible situation.

I wonder if they will finally acknowledge they were wrong about him?  Alternatively I assume they still have faith in him turning this around next season?

McCowan is definitely Derry’d oot his nut!

On a serious note I hope the board do everything they can to extend his contract.  I don’t think anyone doubts he is a very important player for us.
